Job Description

The Administrative Fellow reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Memorial, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

The Administrative Fellow reports through and is supported by a structure of executive and medical leaders, former administrative fellows, and a dedicated team of fellowship program leadership. The 18-month program provides select aspiring healthcare leaders with an unparalleled experience at a premier health system. The Administrative Fellowship is designed to assist individuals in developing skills and attributes necessary for a senior level career in healthcare.

The Administrative Fellowship is a combination of institutionally structured and self-directed activities. The first 30-60 days are spent gaining an understanding of the organization through informational interviews, strategic and operational exposure, and professional development training. The rest of the first 12 months are spent leading projects at an operational and strategic level, developing as a leader through robust curricular activities, and gaining exposure to Northwestern Medicine leadership at a variety of levels. Projects are selected from current organizational priorities and combine the interests of each fellow, while maintaining a balance across several categories, such as clinical operations, strategic planning, and system function. The last 6 months are a transitional period dedicated to finding a full-time management role that suits both the fellow's career goals and the organization's needs. The fellow is supported through this process by their assigned VP mentor and fellowship program leadership.

Administrative Fellowship Alignment:

The Northwestern Medicine Adminstrative Fellowship will be separated into two distinct positions; each will deliver on the summary outlined above.
  • Academic Medical Center (AMC) Fellow:
The AMC fellowship will provide the fellow with an experience primarily dedicated to exposure and development at Northwestern Medicine's AMC located in downtown Chicago. Sponsorship and mentorship will come from AMC leadership who will partner with administrative fellowship program leadership to provide the AMC fellow with robust support. The AMC fellow will still get experience at the regional level, both from senior leadership exposure and project involvement; however, the majority of their experience will be focused on AMC activity.
  • Health Network Fellow:
The Health Network fellowship will provide the fellow with an experience primarily dedicated to exposure and development at Northwestern Medicine's 10 network hospitals located throughout the suburbs of Chicago. Sponsorship and mentorship will come from Health Network leadership who will partner with administrative fellowship program leadership to provide the Health Network fellow with robust support. The Health Network fellow will still get experience at the AMC, both from senior leadership and project involvement; however, the majority of their experience will be focused throughout the organization's network presence.

Administrative Fellowship Competencies:

The North Carolina Democratic Party is pleased to announce it is accepting applications for its Summer 2018 Goodwin Fellowship Program. The Fellowship program will focus on training the next generation of North Carolina Democratic leaders and will offer positions in Research, Communications, Political, Digital, Finance, and Field.

Goodwin Fellows will be trained by recognized leaders in the North Carolina Democratic Party and will have several opportunities to meet elected officials across the state. Because of the interest in the program, those interested are encouraged to submit an application and will be considered after an interview and selection process. Please indicate what field you are interested in when you apply, we will keep these preferences in mind but placement in your top field is not guaranteed.

The following positions are available:

Finance

The North Carolina Democratic Party Finance Department raises the funds that are essential to maintaining and expanding the North Carolina Democratic Party, as well as fueling Democratic Party activities in all 100 counties. The resources raised by this department help Democratic incumbents and challengers win races at the federal, state and municipal levels. This department also plans and executes high-dollar fundraising events throughout North Carolina.

Examples of daily tasks include managing the donor acknowledgment process, call-time management (working with the Chair of the Party to execute call-time), donor prospect research, database management, planning and promoting upcoming events, processing contributions, soliciting contributions, writing digital and print copy, as well as other administrative tasks. Through their duties, fellows will have the opportunity to work day to day with state political operatives, as well as the chance to network with leaders in the political field - including past and present elected officials and candidates for political office.

Finance interns are smart, accountable, energetic, and fun people who are interested in gaining practical experience and involvement in politics. The most successful candidates are self-starters with "can do" attitudes, the ability to learn quickly, and the ability to work independently. Attention to detail, excellent writing skills, strong interpersonal skills, familiarity with Word, Excel and Outlook are highly desired. The ideal candidate will have taken coursework with an emphasis on campaign finance/political science.

Political

The Political Department develops and implements the coordinated campaign strategy on behalf of the NCDP with Democratic candidates at federal, state and local levels. The political department also coordinates the interaction between the Party, county parties and chairs, precincts and their chairs, and allied organizations.

Political Goodwin Fellows can expect to assist in these processes by preparing briefs and memos for principal travel and events and conducting intensive research on a variety of projects, in addition to providing staff with full office support.

Data

The Data Department provides the NCDP with data-driven solutions to high-level strategic and operational problems. Data Goodwin Fellows are exposed to the next, newest, and greatest advancements in political technology.

Fellows will be asked to take on special projects for various teams in the Data department and, from time-to-time, other departments of the NCDP. Each fellowship will be uniquely tailored to the skill-set of the individual selected but will be designed to enhance each intern's understanding of the critical strategic role that data plays in every facet of the political process.

NCDP's Break the Majority Communications and Research Goodwin Fellow

The Communications and Research Departments facilitate the NCDP's interaction with the public and produces public research for the purpose of breaking the super majority in the North Carolina State Legislature.

Using traditional methods of communication (e.g. press releases and media events) in combination with new media tools (e.g. website content and online tools), the fellow will work to promote the NCDP's message and provide support to our counties parties, Democratic candidates and officeholders, and activist.

Fellows can expect to assist in these processes by media monitoring, list building and maintenance, drafting written materials, and assisting with general communications needs.

Fellows will also work to produce research from a variety of sources to create NCDP research materials and support communication materials. Using public information such as campaign finance reports, lobbying reports, and county records, fellows will contribute to research for specific materials for Democratic candidates and officeholders, and activists.

Fellows can expect to assist in vetting potential municipal and state candidates, contribute to research books, and analyze data from various sources to forward the NCDP's Break the Majority program.

Digital

Through our program, you will be exposed to a variety of skill areas, including digital content creation, social media, online fundraising, graphic design, and political campaigns. Goodwin Fellows will work alongside the NCDP Digital Director and Deputy Digital Director and will have access to training materials provided by the Democratic National Committee. Interns will leave this program with transferable skills that are attractive in political, non- profit, or advocacy organizations.

Students with a working knowledge of digital communications, graphic design, media production, and journalism are encouraged to apply. Having a basic understanding of Photoshop is a plus.

The Digital Goodwin Fellow will gain experience in Adobe programs, work with NCDP staff to achieve digital goals, engage online supporters by assisting the creation of content for NCDP's social media accounts and email programs, and monitor news outlets for news and messaging opportunities.

Our Digital fellow must be self-motivated, a team player, reliable, and interested in gaining digital experience in the nonprofit world. The intern must be able to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.

CCSU FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM:

The School of Education and Professional Studies at Central Connecticut State University is partnering with the Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) to create a "Teacher Fellowship Program".

The Teacher Fellowship Program is designed to create enhanced learning environments for both the CCSU Teacher Candidates, as well as K-12 students in Connecticut. Cohorts of teacher candidates will be provided opportunities to work within school districts to enhance their own professional growth and development, as well as positively impact student learning and achievement of all students. The goal of the program is to enhance teaching innovation and teaching quality by bringing together a cohort of outstanding Teaching Fellows who will, through their increased work in the classroom, bring excellence and rigor in the next generation of teachers, while supporting K-12 student learning in Connecticut.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW:

The Teacher Fellowship Program will provide opportunities for teaching and learning through a cohort-based model that supports personal and professional growth and development. The program brings together rich and diverse experiences for the Teaching Fellows and a platform to encourage, motivate, and foster the development of outstanding teacher candidates who can and will make a difference for future generations of learners.

TEACHING FELLOWS AT CCSU WILL PROVIDED A LOANER LAPTOP AND WILL BE EXPECTED TO:
  • Check in with the SEPS Dean's office via email, phone, or (virtual) meeting;
  • Attend professional development and/or networking sessions twice a month that are organized for the Teaching Fellows;
  • Engage with (paired) professional mentor from the field supported through the CSDE and associated professional organizations in CT; and
  • Provide informal feedback throughout the academic year.
TEACHING FELLOWS WITHIN NEWINGTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS WILL EXPECTETD TO:
  • Commit to working as a Teaching Fellow for 1-4 full days per week, or 1-4 half days (AM or PM commitment) - (SEE SCHOOL DAY SCHEDULE BELOW);
  • Complete the onboarding process, which will include personnel paperwork, mandated trainings, and a background check process within the district (reimbursed by CSDE or CCSU);
  • Follow all district COVID Health and Safety Protocols and complete the required district reporting if feeling ill;
  • Work with another (paired) Teaching Fellow to create consistency and weekly coverage in the classroom or online;
  • Run small group instruction under teacher supervision;

An **Administrative Fellow** is a part of a dynamic program that provides the Fellow with a valuable, broad-based, health network experience. **The position will have various rotations lasting four months. Please note: This Administrative Fellowship position will run from June 2026 - June 2027.**
During each rotation, Administrative Fellows are assigned an executive preceptor to guide them, select projects and provide feedback. The Fellow is required to gain an in-depth understanding of the policies and procedures that directly impact a specific service line, department and/or specialty area which can be improved, resulting in a positive impact on the quality of delivery by the service line, department and/or specialty area.
Candidate will need to be on-site and able to travel to Hackensack Meridian Health locations in the NJ Region.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, mathematics, statistics or related.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Coordinates and organizes the fellowship process including communicating program offerings to prospective applicants, screening applications, recommending candidates for interview, arranging interviews, participating in the selection of candidates for the rank list, and following up with candidates.
+ Assists in the coordination of the program in compliance with the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) guidelines; processes registrations, coordinates the fellowship application and evaluation process; creates and maintains databases; complies and distributes various schedules; provides administrative support.

  • Eligible for unrestricted Active Medical Staff Privileges for Geriatrics.
