Your Opportunity
We provide our clients a full range of surveying and mapping services. Through our work, we define land boundaries and analyze spatial data. We are looking for Seasonal Field Assistant to assist our team in Ohio. You will work with direct supervision and general direction on tasks and smaller projects, and as a team member of a larger project under the guidance of a Senior Surveyor. Please note that this is a summer position with a possibility of an extension.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Preform surveying assignments under the direction of a supervisor.
- Responsible for safe operation and maintenance of vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Loads vehicles with tools and equipment, ensuring materials are loaded correctly.
- Learn to operate and maintain all instruments and measuring devices including levels, robotic total stations, GPS equipment and data collectors.
- Learn to transfer survey data to the proper files in the computer network and acquire data for field use under the direction of the survey crew chief.
- Learn to assist in the preparation of survey drawings using AutoCAD software.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Good cooperative skills in working efficiently with a team.
- Foundational math skills, including algebra and trigonometry.
- Ability to learn to operate Trimble Robotic Total Stations, Trimble GPS equipment, TSC3 data collectors, and digital levels, and other related equipment.
- Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Education and Experience
- 0-2+ years of related work experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. Basic knowledge of surveying would be considered an asset.

Summary

The Field Assistant, as a member of the team, plays a crucial role in providing information regarding client specific behavior and learning to behavior technicians, registered behavior technicians (RBTs), and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) - all to ensure the effective implementation of ABA interventions and high-quality services for our clients. The key duty of Field Assistant is to perform Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) services to our clients, following the billable/non billable agreement breakdown both remotely and in-person, as required to ensure best practice. Field Assistant is also set to complete non-billable activities as needed and agreed upon - which may include but is not limited to, driving between patient houses, paperwork/ documentation, administrative meetings, and training of behavior technicians.

Job specification

Therapeutic Care and Management (estimated 30 weekly hours)

  • Assist with screenings, assessments, progress and referral information using established evaluation procedures, assessments, classroom observations, and interviews.

  • Provides training and supervision for staff pursuing Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification and assists RBTs in the maintenance of their certification as needed.

  • Coordinate an ongoing and consistent schedule of support services for the BT and RBT staff, providing service coverage as needed. 

  • Support BT and RBT staff by providing case reviews and monitoring staff productivity. 

  • Liaises with employees around topics that are pertinent such as communications, branding, billing, and training. 

Policy and Internal Regulatory Compliance (estimated 2 weekly hours)

  • Record and maintain all client progress reports and documentation, in a timely, accurate manner and comply with the agency as well as government rules and regulations.

  • Comply with privacy laws and requirements under HIPAA and Medicaid/Medicare regulations and understand the consequences of non-compliance.

  • Comply with all security and confidentiality regulations as related to the supervision of staff and clients, both in-person and remotely.

  • Comply with insurance and Medicaid regulations and authorizations for billing and demonstrate appropriate use and knowledge of codes.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Merrick Intern Program will provide an undergraduate or graduate student an opportunity to gain technical experience in the field of surveying. Our intern will be exposed to a variety of surveying projects including Boundary, ALTA, Easement, Right of Way, Topographic and As-built surveys. These surveys will be based on various methods of data collection such as GPS, total station, photogrammetry, and laser scanning.

The position requires the collaboration with other disciplines, follow schedules and budget commitments, work independently, possess good written and oral communication skills and the ability to problem solve.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have graduation date after August 2026 to be eligible.
  • Must be currently enrolled and entering junior year or higher of undergraduate degree.
  • Basic understanding of survey equipment.
  • Must be prepared to work in extreme weather conditions, i.e., heat, rain, cold, etc.
  • Hike to remote locations.
  • Ability to lift 60 lbs.
  • Ability to travel for periods of up to 4 weeks.

Description
  1. Maintains open communication with Manager, Team Leaders, Home Support Supervisor, Homemakers and Home Health Aides regarding health, safety and environment status of patients. Reports all changes in a timely manner.
  2. Complies with State/Federal regulatory acts and understands the correlation of Agency Policy and Procedure, which have regulatory requirements, integrated into them.
  3. Perform all skills with competency, as indicated on the skills checklist.
  4. Communicates with Clinical Coordinator to facilitate a co-visit with Home Health Aides and Homemakers. Communicates all scheduling concerns relating to patients which may include, but not be limited to changes such as times, days, patient absences and discharges.
  5. Communicates with Paraprofessional Manager, Team Leaders, Home Support Supervisor and Home Health Aides and Homemakers regarding any case concerns or patient problems to improve patient care and staff safety.
  6. Communicates with Team Leader regarding planned time off or other general schedule changes and coordinates this with his/her peer at the other site.
  7. Completes and submits required documentation, i.e., patient and personnel, accurately and on a timely basis. This includes HHA home visit competency tools.

The Role We Want You For

The Field Administrative Assistant takes the lead in providing comprehensive support to Clayco Project Managers, Project Engineers, Superintendents, Mission Control and Technical Services, as assigned. Prepare daily and monthly reports, checks outboxes and distributes mail. Assist Clayco in document management by entering and processing of subcontracts, purchase orders, letters of intent, change orders, safety audits, submittals, bid packages, entering punch-list items, and updating the information thru the completion of the job and other paperwork processing. Follow up with subcontractors and suppliers if executed documents are missing. Arrange meetings, travel, and ordering food if required. The Field Administrative Assistant will greet and direct visitors, workers, deliveries, and overall assistance to the entire project team and activities taking place on job site with whatever is needed to accomplish the company’s objectives. Acts on own initiative, with a minimal amount of supervision, and yet is a team player. This person is assigned to project teams and will need to be organized, focused and a quick learner.


The Specifics of the Role

  • Prepares typed correspondence.
  • Readily assists with whatever is needed to accomplish the company’s objectives. This includes typing, filing, copying, binding, scanning, and whatever else is necessary. This will also include document retrieval for auditing and litigation as needed.
  • Retrieves, scans, transmits, and electronically (or physically) distributes executed subcontracts, change orders and other documents associated with projects. This is an extremely important responsibility.
  • May type contracts, change orders, letters of intent, meeting minutes, etc., and distribute as required. May also help obtain, assemble, and assist with project closeout.
  • May assist in entering punch-list items and updating the information thru the completion of the job.
  • Routinely will run reports and dunning letters on projects as required.
  • Enter Daily Reports for Clayco and Subcontractors each day and follow up with Subcontractors on missing paperwork.
  • Update rack drawing with the most current issues on a timely basis. This may be daily.

The Research Assistant will perform a variety of routine tasks associated with the seed research program.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Pollination of corn plants and harvest of corn ears according to established research protocols. The type of task will be dependent on the stage of the crop and will be seasonal in nature.
+ Additional field and shade house tasks may include planting, thinning, weeding, tissue sampling, pollination, transplanting, transpotting, pot or flat filling, plant tagging, seedling rearray, plant cutting, husk back, harvest, and pest management activities such as pesticide applications.
+ Additional sample processing tasks including preparation of supplies, sorting, shelling, weighing, counting, preparation for shipping, and seed packaging.
+ General facility operations tasks include general clean-up, organization of samples and supplies, and other routine and non-routine tasks as they arise.
+ For some tasks, health monitoring or respirator medical clearance may be required. Supplier will be informed if this is needed.
+ The Field Assistant may perform additional tasks as requested by the supervisor including the use of powered tools and machinery such as, but not limited to, mowers, weed whackers, blowers, power washers, choppers, potting machines, bale shavers and conveyors.
**Qualifications**
+ The Field Assistant must be able to understand and follow both written and oral instructions.
+ Assistants receive general instructions on routine tasks and detailed instructions on new tasks with hands-on training and skills verification. Attention to detail is necessary.
+ Must be able to lift 40lbs and walk on uneven field surfaces for 8 or more hours per shift.
+ Must have the ability to work with and around plants and plant pollens.
+ Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods.
+ Working safely is a condition of employment.
