Position Summary:  

The Field Technician will travel to store locations to perform maintenance and service repairs on various types of commercial food service equipment. Candidate will work with dispatchers and team supervisors to manage workload to complete calls in timely manner. 

Responsibilities:  

• Repair and/or refurbish on equipment such as: frozen beverage, fountain soda coffee brewers, gas dispensing equipment, refrigerated cases, and other food service equipment.

This full-time role is responsible for performing general building maintenance and troubleshooting across multiple commercial properties in the North Los Angeles area . Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine inspections and maintenance of electrical systems (lighting, outlets, breakers, panels, etc.) Diagnose and repair commercial plumbing issues (fixtures, water heaters, drainage, piping, etc.)
• Complete work orders for general repairs, including drywall, painting, doors/hardware, minor HVAC, and more
• Collaborate with property managers and Lot Management teams to address service needs promptly
• Maintain accurate records of work performed using company systems or work order platforms
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with local codes, safety standards, and company protocols
• Respond to occasional emergency maintenance requests during off-hours (rotating on-call schedule)

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of hands-on commercial maintenance experience
• Strong working knowledge of electrical systems and commercial-grade plumbing
• Familiarity with commercial buildings, retail centers, and warehouse facilities
• Comfortable using hand and power tools, ladders, and basic diagnostic equipment
• Excellent troubleshooting and time management skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be self-directed and able to work independently across multiple sites
• Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Assisting the Manager of Field Maintenance with management, oversight and responsibility for assigned functions, assets, and personnel for the section. Establishing performance goals and measures relative to all operational responsibilities and ensure they are met.

• Developing program plans, maintenance standards and milestones; assigning priorities; developing policies and procedures, along with forecasting both Operating and Capital Program budget requirements to allocate available resources.

• Providing direct supervision over five supervisors and indirect supervision for the Facility Maintenance Technicians.

• Assisting the Manager with the responsibility of ensuring the annual airfield inspection is compliant with Federal Aviation Administration FAR Part 139 Certification of Airports.

This position is located at the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport in Anne Arundel County, MD.

Qualifications

Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Eight years of experience in construction, facilities maintenance or skilled trade work. Four years of this experience must have been in a supervisory capacity.

Licenses & Certifications

1. Employees in this class are assigned duties which require the operation of motor vehicles. Employees must possess and maintain a Class C motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland. During the probationary period, the employee may be required to obtain and maintain a Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), valid in the State of Maryland depending on the type of equipment operated.
2. Employees in this class may be required to satisfy the employing administration’s training and certification program requirements to obtain and maintain permanent status in this classification.

Principal Duties/Responsibilities:

· Performs expert level break-fix & preventative maintenance. This includes but is not limited to: observing devises in operation to location root cause of problem; dismantling devices to gain access to and remove defective parts; examining parts to detect imperfections; adjustment of functional parts of devices and control instruments; repair and/or replacement of defective parts; testing of device to observe performance; and performing tests for electrical circuitry and mechanical systems; reconditioning and repairing machine tools.

· Identifies and sources parts, supplies and repair items as necessary. Performs evaluations of alternatives to improve cost and / or reliability of equipment.

· Independently performs maintenance as per industry standards.

· Works with customer counterparts to optimize maintenance, reliability, and preventative maintenance procedures.

· May be required to setup and operate multiple machining operations including but not limited to: lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. May perform welding tasks.

· Conforms and complies with customer contractor codes of conduct, housekeeping standards, and safety processes

· Documents work performed in service reports, applicable management systems, and written explanation regarding observation and collected equipment performance data.

· Provides assistance to lower level technicians and leadership to project teams. Performs expert functions as a part of training and development.

· Troubleshoots and analyzes complex control systems to resolve in-depth software/ hardware and configuration problems.

· Utilizes advanced maintenance technologies to collect equipment performance data. Observes trends and makes recommendations.

· Completes and conducts on-the-job training and technical self-study programs for career development.

· Follows all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions and guidelines. Situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAs), & Competencies:

Essential KSAs:

· High School Graduate or equivalent (GED).

· Associates degree with a Technical focus and 10 years of related experience in specific industry; or, 12 years of experience in specific industry.

· Possesses comprehensive understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power and control systems. Can analyze the problem, synthesize alternative solutions, and perform repairs.

· Must be able to use basic hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate.

· Extensive travel required. (Local, National, International)

Desirable KSAs:

· Experience in condition based maintenance techniques, precision mechanical alignments, and maintenance of applicable process equipment.

· Experience in programmable logic controllers, field device troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical drive and motor systems.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands/fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb, ascend/descend or balance to heights that may require a ladder or lift; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. The employee is regularly required to use close vision and color vision. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. Work is typically performed in a factory environment and is usually very loud. In the factory environment, the employee may be exposed to hazardous materials and/or greasy or slippery factory floors.
