FIELD ENGINEER JOB DESCRIPTION


POSITION SUMMARY

The FIELD ENGINEER is tasked to work directly with our customers and account managers to develop systems, assemblies, and services that both help improve their fluid systems and increase sales. This role is an integral part of our sales model and will focus on solving fluid system problems, while ensuring that our customers view us as experts.   • Become the regional subject matter expert on Swagelok offerings, fluid processes, and instrumentation applications.
  • Develop programs and provide training to distributor associates and end-users.

  • Provide application guidance during installation, testing, commissioning, ongoing use, and maintenance to ensure performance and reliability.
  • Work directly with and call on design engineers and end users to introduce Trystar’s leading portfolio of customized critical power solutions through technical presentations, solution proposals, and project discussions.
  • Manage full sales cycle: prospecting, presentations, negotiations, and closing.
  • Provide technical support and product expertise during pre- and post-sales phases.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and competitor offerings.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the c ritical power systems, electrical distribution, or industrial power equipment market, either designing, managing, or selling these solutions.
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC and UL standards for power systems.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to both engineers and non-technical decision-makers.
  • Experience supporting sales teams, sales representatives, or customers through project design, specification, and execution .
  • Experience working within CRM, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and other common business software tools.
  • Willingness to travel within your territory for customer site visits, engineering reviews, and project support. Expecting between 50 to 70% Travel.

Our client is seeking a highly technical and customer-focused Senior Field Sales Engineer to join their fully remote sales team. In this critical role, you will be the technical expert supporting the sales process, deeply engaging with prospective clients to understand their challenges and demonstrate how our solutions provide value. You will act as the bridge between our innovative products and the complex needs of our enterprise customers, operating entirely from your home office.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner closely with Account Executives to identify and qualify sales opportunities within target accounts.
  • Conduct in-depth discovery calls to thoroughly understand customer technical requirements, pain points, and business objectives.
  • Deliver compelling technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concepts (POCs) tailored to prospect needs.
  • Articulate the value proposition of our solutions and address technical objections effectively.
  • Design and propose technical solutions that align with customer architectures and strategies.
  • Provide technical expertise during the sales cycle, from initial engagement through to contract closing.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for product capabilities, competitive positioning, and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to provide feedback on customer requirements and market trends.
  • Develop technical proposals and Statements of Work (SOWs) as needed.
  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with technical stakeholders at client organizations.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technology advancements and competitive offerings.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a Sales Engineering, Solutions Architecture, or similar pre-sales technical role.
  • Proven ability to understand and articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong background in relevant technologies (e.g., cloud computing, cybersecurity, software development, networking - tailor based on client's product).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, crucial for remote interactions.
  • Demonstrated success in supporting sales cycles and driving revenue growth.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks in a remote environment.
  • Experience with CRM and sales enablement tools is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for crucial client meetings or team events.
  • A proactive and problem-solving mindset with a passion for technology and customer success.
