JOB SUMMARY

The Finance Associate is responsible for general duties in support of the OpCo (operating company) operations and works in collaboration with SBS (Sysco Business Services) to assist in resolving exceptions and issues.   • Responsible for managing petty cash fund and replenishments

  • Responsible for reporting issues within quality control and providing documentation to the SBS processing teams.
  • Work closely with the quality control teams to ensure claims are submitted to obtain supplier credits
  • Responsible for maintaining and reporting regulatory compliance (i.e. USDA, food safety documentation, etc.).
  • Responsible for handling will call transactions involving payments from customers and employees. Includes processing of employee purchases.

The role requires excellent judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a proactive and collaborative approach. The candidate should be motivated, independent, and capable of engaging with a diverse academic and medical community. Our division includes 130 faculty members across multiple clinical sections and facilities, dedicated to excellence in clinical care, education, quality improvement, and research. What you'll be doing:

  • Managing incoming freight invoices to ensure all charges are in alignment with expectations.
  • Ensuring accuracy in landed costs, including freight and duties.
  • Supporting month-end close activities, including freight expense accruals and journal entries.
  • Reconciling freight invoice payments with vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Coordinating with the freight team, purchasing, and warehouse to ensure alignment.
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline freight expense management through automation, systems integration, or policy updates.
  • Reconciling cash accounts.
  • Processing customer tax exemption certificates.
  • Other duties as assigned.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join the Nooks team and oversee financial operations, reporting, and budgeting for our Colorado Springs location. You will wear various hats-from managing vendor payments to analyzing and forecasting utilization rates-this role offers exposure to multiple areas of the business and opportunities for professional growth. The ideal candidate should have an interest in corporate finance and hold a degree in a related field.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Process and track vendor invoices, credit card expenses, and procurement requests using Ramp and QuickBooks
  • Collaborate with the Colorado Springs site lead to collect, validate, and categorize financial transactions
  • Analyze and forecast key performance indicators, including utilization, margins, and spend trends
  • Monitor and manage recurring expenses, vendor contracts, and cash flow forecasts
  • Assist in developing internal financial processes and automation to improve efficiency
  • Support the Corporate Finance team with monthly and ad hoc reporting for internal and external stakeholders
  • Help ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
  • Support month-end close, journal entries, and variance analyses
THE SKILLSET:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Ramp and/or QuickBooks is a plus
  • Intermediate knowledge of the three financial statements and GAAP accounting
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Self-starter with a willingness to learn and take ownership of assigned tasks
