About the Role We’re entering an exciting stage of growth and looking to bring onboard a Finance Lead to own our financial and operating model. As our first finance hire, you’ll be in a high-impact, high-visibility role serving as a strategic partner to our executive team, working closely with GTM leadership and cross-functional stakeholders. This role is central to scaling our finance operations, driving rigor in planning and reporting, and serving as the finance lead for sales operations activities. Position Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
- Leveraging project management principles to manage firmwide financial projects and complete other complex financial requests needed by department management
- Applying business, economic, finance, and accounting principles to the firm's internal financial data to help firm leaders simplify and ultimately solve complex problems; leveraging SAP Business Objects to query data and Excel to effectively and efficiently synthesize that data
- Ensuring emails received through the team's shared email are handled in a timely professional manner, including prioritizing urgent requests, and ensuring effective handoff with the team in the next time zone
- Developing standard tools for reporting and analyzing data
- Maintaining detailed records documenting procedures and assumptions, methodologies, and sources of information employed during the performance of all analytical tasks
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
- A minimum of five (5) years' analytical experience in finance or accounting

Position Specific Description
We are seeking a driven and dynamic financial professional to join the NextEra Energy Marketing wholesale commodity trading and marketing organization. This unique position is responsible for managing exposures, interest rates and liquidity as well as execution of commodity-finance transactions. This position has significant exposure to and routinely communicates with senior management. The successful candidate will be well-rounded and independent, with strong commercial, communication, analytical and critical thinking skills.
Key responsibilities:
* Monitor and report on liquidity exposure, in particular with respect to exchange commodity futures, seeking opportunities to manage exposure (variation margin) and collateral requirements (initial margin)
* Monitor and manage interest rate exposure, executing on financial hedges to mitigate the impact of fluctuating interest rates
* Actively manage NEM's balance sheet, including working capital, focusing on efficient cash utilization
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as NEM senior management, Treasury and corporate financial planning and analysis teams to identify, analyze, recommend and execute on commodity-finance transactions which result in desired impact - increase in profitability, increased liquidity, reduction in exposure, etc.
* Communicate and serve as point of contact for various commodity trading market participants / banks with respect to commodity-finance
* Work in partnership with credit and trading risk management to recommend and conduct risk assessments, stress testing, and scenario analysis to identify and mitigate risks associated with commodity exposure
Ideal candidates will possess:
* Ability to seek, identify and execute on opportunities for improvement to exposure, liquidity or profitability
* Understanding of key financial concepts (mark-to-market accounting, time value of money and discounting, book vs. tax earnings, credit metrics, etc.) and how each impacts NEM and the broader organizational goals
* Strong communication skills to engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, including senior management
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with the propensity to work independently and manage time effectively
* Proficiency in financial modeling and advanced MS Excel skills; knowledge of databases / systems and programming languages (such as SQL, Oracle, VBA, Python, R) is a plus
