Description We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in supporting legal operations, ensuring seamless case management, and maintaining effective communication with clients and courts. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment while delivering exceptional results.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file court cases with accuracy and efficiency to meet deadlines.
- Maintain consistent communication with clients and court representatives to provide updates and address inquiries.
- Utilize templates for legal documentation and correspondence to streamline processes.
- Assist with tax appeals, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Manage a high volume of legal work while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
- Leverage Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word, for document preparation and data management.
- Navigate Odyssey and SharePoint systems to handle court-related tasks and case information.
- Collaborate with legal teams to ensure timely and organized case handling.
- Review and analyze legal documents to identify key information and action items. Requirements - Proven experience in a legal assistant or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of tax law and familiarity with legal procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
- Experience with Odyssey and SharePoint systems for legal case management.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to handle high-volume workloads.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities for client and court interactions.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
