**Position Specific Description**
NextEra Energy Resources, LLC (NEER) is seeking a Financial Controller 1 to join our NEER Finance team. The individual in this role will be part of our Project Financing Analysis and Reporting Group whose mission is to support NEER's growing portfolio of renewable projects through the management, analysis & reporting of its project financing portfolio (e.g. tax equity, project debt, backleverage and other structured project financings), providing investors and management with timely, reliable & strategic data to make financing decisions. As a Financial Controller in our group, you will be part of a team of proficient and dependable analysts and controllers with specialized knowledge on structured project financings, managing a diverse portfolio and involved in the following:
Collaborating with our Treasury team and other cross-functional groups to structure, onboard and operationalize new project financings
Maintaining and analyzing various project finance models for investor and internal reporting, including but not limited to:
+ Tax equity models for investor return tracking, accounting and forecasting
+ Debt amortization and DSCR (Debt Service Coverage Ratio) reports
+ Supporting ad-hoc analyses and scenario planning related to project financings for management and investors (including financing restructurings, buyouts)
+ Financing cash management and controllership, e.g. preparing and reviewing tax equity cash contributions and distributions, debt principal and interest payments
+ Accounting, reporting and forecasting financing activities, including cash and earnings related to financings
+ Coordinating with our tax department on reviewing relevant partnership tax inputs in our tax equity models and supporting the preparation/review of partnership tax returns
+ Leading/participating in process improvements and automation initiatives to help the group scale for growth

**Job Overview**
Employees in this role are responsible for performing key financial functions for an assigned portfolio of electric generating facilities, including internal and external reporting, budgeting and forecasting, business analytics and certain aspects of the monthly close process and treasury functions. Individuals provide effective, timely and actionable financial information and business analytics on the facilities in their portfolios including monthly, quarterly and annual reporting and analysis on the financial performance of the electric generating facilities, treasury management, as well as ad hoc reporting and analysis as required. **Position Summary:**
The Controller is an integral member of the executive management team. Responsible for overseeing the financial operations and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The role involves a combination of managerial, strategic, and technical responsibilities. In addition to managing the financial activities of the organization, which includes overseeing the accounting department, budgeting, financial reporting, audit preparation, and the development of internal control policies and procedures, the Controller is expected to be a major contributor to the development and execution of the Company's annual Business Plan. In this role, the Controller must be an agent for change, collaborating on Operational Excellence initiatives (via Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Six Sigma) throughout the organization and focusing the Business Unit on its customers, pricing and profitable sales growth.
**Principle Duties (includes, but is not limited to):**
**Financial Planning and Analysis:**
+ Develop and manage the company's financial models, forecasts, and budgets.
+ Provide financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to support decision-making.
+ Ensure proper financial controls, systems, and decision tools are in place and used focusing on strategic procurement plans and cost reduction initiatives.
+ Provide financial leadership to the team in preparing the annual plan, quarterly forecasts and comparison of actual or forecasted performance to plan, forecast, or prior periods as requested.
+ Conduct product cost analysis and detail product and job cost review with manufacturing and value stream teams in an effort to control costs and lead cost reduction initiatives
+ Ensure that the plans and forecasts are both realistic and meet investment return objectives.
+ Establish labor and overhead standards while working with manufacturing engineering and purchasing to set all product standard costs and ongoing cost estimates.
+ Review quotations over a certain threshold to include cost estimations.
+ Ensure strong quotation cost estimation tools are in place and utilized.
+ Analyze backlog for valuation and aging accuracy and ensure that its cost is correctly estimated.
+ Coordinate physical inventory through standard operating procedures.
+ Prepare the inventory valuation and reconciliation - book to perpetual for both the month end and the annual physical inventory.
+ Lead the cycle counting program and ensure that the program is understood and properly executed through audits with a goal of 95% or higher inventory accuracy measured by part numbers counted.
+ Monitor and analyze financial performance against key business metrics.
**Financial Reporting:**
+ Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
+ Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
+ Responsible for all cost accounting activities which includes purchase order price variances, labor variances, work-in-process, inventory tracking, and labor collection/shop floor control systems.
+ Prepare and transmit letters of credit documents to Corporate Treasury.
+ Present financial reports to the executive team.
**Internal Controls and Compliance:**
+ Establish and maintain internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets.
+ Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and tax requirements.
+ Coordinate and liaise with external auditors during the annual audit process.
**Cash Management:**
+ Monitor cash flows and manage working capital efficiently.
+ Oversee treasury functions, including banking relationships, cash disbursements, and cash receipts.
+ Ensure proper estimation of warranty exposure and reserve requirements.
+ Confirm proper safekeeping and supervision of the petty cash account.
**Team Management:**
+ Lead and manage the accounting and finance team, providing mentorship and development opportunities.
+ Motivates and develops talent within the organization through coaching, counseling, engaging and evaluating associate performance, utilizing the Company's personnel development processes.
+ Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement within the team.
**Risk Management** :
+ Identify and assess financial risks and implement appropriate risk management strategies.
+ Develop and maintain insurance policies to mitigate potential financial exposures.
**ERP and Financial Systems:**
+ Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data within the company's ERP or accounting software.
**Essential Qualifications / Experience:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master's degree or CPA preferred).
+ 7+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience. Minimum of 2 years managing finance team.
+ Experience in all aspects of financial management including accounting, budgeting, planning, internal controls and analysis is desired.
+ Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems.
+ Cost accounting and bill of material/routings skills developed in manufacturing environments.
+ Experience with Lean Manufacturing Systems, Six Sigma, and/or Supply Management is highly desirable.
+ Advanced proficiency with Excel is required.

**Working as an Operations Controller** you will be responsible for the accounting activity within an assigned account(s) and assisting the Regional Director of Finance with all aspects of the financial activities that occur within the region.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Performs reconciliation and analysis for several balance sheet accounts
+ Analyzes financial results for both internal and external use
+ Tracks and maintains monthly P/L and balance sheet activity
+ Develops forecasts and budgets, identifying risks and opportunities
+ Reviews general ledger and balance sheets
+ Resolves various accounting/reconciliation issues
+ Completes financial reports: monthly, quarterly and annual reports, including but not limited to monthly and fiscal close, internal and external audit reporting; manages report preparation and distribution
+ Maintains inventory and cost control procedures
+ Oversees all cash handling procedures
+ Performs administration of Payroll and Human Resources
+ Performs related duties and special projects as assigned
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred, or equivalent professional experience
+ A minimum of three years' experience with revenue control and financial reporting
+ Accounting experience in foodservice or retail industry required, foodservice operations experience a plus
+ Ability to prepare monthly financial statements, key metric reports, budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections and analyses
+ Adept at planning, organizing and controlling complex processes as well as analyzing moderately complex financial information
+ Experience with POS, cash and credit card reports
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Skilled at managing multiple priorities and relationships
+ Computer skills: proficient in Microsoft Office with a concentration in Excel
+ Strong analytical and organizational skills
+ Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
+ Conformity to the highest standards of personal integrity and ethical behavior

Thriving, technology firm is looking to hire a Financial Controller with public accounting experience. The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy in accounting, adherence to regulatory standards, and efficient financial reporting. You will also be responsible for the financial close process, providing operations with financial support, managing the general ledger systems, directing financial planning, preparing financial reports/statements, providing data analysis, and preparing financial forecasts. The ideal Financial Controller will keep abreast of financial trends, monitor budgets, manage special projects, and oversee a small team of accountants. This Controller must have excellent financial and organizational skills and the ability to develop and implement new revenue-generating accounting systems.
How you will make an impact
· Oversee internal control system
· Review and manage year end documents
· Perform profit & loss analysis
· Coordinate financial audit
· Monitor banking and credit card transactions
· Implement applicable accounting policies and procedures

Requirements
The ideal Financial Controller will have a Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.

· 5+ years progressive accounting experience
· Public Accounting expertise preferred
· Hands on experience with AP, AR, Payroll, etc.
· QuickBooks experience
· CPA highly preferred
· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
