GENERAL FUNCTION:
The Portfolio Manager is key member of the "coverage team", managing transactions and business portfolio tasks. PMs are expected to be intimately involved in in the deal process, making recommendations on appropriate credit structures, pricing, etc. PMs are directly accountable for managing a portfolio of accounts through their review of updated financial statements, proactive monitoring, and interaction with the Credit Analyst. Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Accountable for managing a portfolio of accounts.
+ Review and recommend credit decisions.
+ Partners with the Relationship Manager, forming the "coverage team" to: Meet with clients and Participate in business Development calls, Assess prospective client's viability for credit, Define borrowers and guarantors, deal structure, credit terms and conditions, and financial covenants value collateral.
+ Generate commitment letters.
+ Responsible for providing business partners credit lending policy interpretation.
+ Perform final risk rating analysis.
+ Capture and document credit decisions, conditions, and modifications.
+ Collaborates with the Credit Analyst to perform Portfolio management duties such as: Establish and maintain Investor Group on lender Portal, perform Monitoring action and Conduct periodic deal Review and execute decisions to renew or modify deals.
+ Communicate directly with clients regarding credit events and actions as needed.
+ Works independently to pitch the most complex deal structures.
+ A focus on continuous learning to keep up with ever-changing market dynamics.
+ Subject-matter-expert, mentor to more junior PMs and Credit Analysts.
+ Leverages expertise to provide partners insights into the Bank's different lines of business and the related economics.
+ Experience in Insurance and/or non-bank finance companies
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for providing employees timely, candid and constructive performance feedback. Developing employees to their fullest potential and provide challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth; developing the appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning; recognizing and rewarding employees for accomplishments.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
+ Bachelor's degree in Business (e.g. Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting).
+ At least 8 years credit analysis and/or loan review experience in Commercial Banking, that ideally includes Insurance.
+ Financial Institutions, primarily Insurance, experience preferred.
+ Highly proficient analytical skills, critical thinking and communication skills.
+ Professional presence (client-facing).
+ Experience managing an advanced commercial client portfolio with a great deal of complexity.
+ Ability to partner with all deal stakeholders including clients, relationship manager and credit teams.
+ Expertise in financial and risk analysis, including financial modeling.
+ Demonstrated expertise in using effective problem solving.
+ Proficient with technology and ability to learn new applications.
+ Normal office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature and the like.

Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

This position will provide budgeting, finance, and procurement support for the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The candidate will work closely with department faculty and staff to provide financial and research administration support for department finances, financial processes, and records to meet the department's day-to-day financial goals. Additionally, this role will assist in ensuring that compliance with all regulations, policies and university requirements are met to secure the department's long-term financial viability and stability. This position will serve the junior level of a two-tier structure for the finance and procurement team.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related business area with a minimum of two years related financial experience working in a university or non-profit environment OR the equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Previous experience in higher education as well as experience with PeopleSoft

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist faculty with managing the financial aspect of sponsored research accounts by providing guidance regarding agency, program-specific policies, and university rules for spending, re-budgeting, reporting, and financial closing at the end of project performance periods.
- Monthly review and reconciliation of all transactions, including expenses, revenue, and fund equity or cash, posted to cost centers for the management's approval to ensure all transactions are correct. Make the necessary correction to expenses posted in error within the period allowed, then work with the owners of the source document to ensure the posting error is discontinued.
- Meet with faculty and other cost center managers to discuss the current state of spending on their accounts and projected expenses to avoid over or underspending based on the annual or project budget available for the period.
- Oversee the day-to-day purchase request for sponsored projects and the department's needs by obtaining the necessary quotes and preparing purchase requisitions and vouchers or using purchasing cards. As required, prepare university work orders and contracts with outside vendors for services or work needed for sponsored projects, classrooms, labs, or offices within the department.
- Keep abreast of University, State, and Federal purchasing and financial regulations and maintain communication with the University's financial and purchasing departments to ensure that duties in this area are performed correctly and in keeping with all applicable rules.
- Make travel arrangements such as booking airline tickets, making hotel reservations, securing the necessary travel documentation and authorizations, and processing direct pay or reimbursement for travel expenses that are allowable and necessary under the applicable sponsored project and university guidelines.
- Maintain departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), which incorporate the University policies and procedures for conducting the day-to-day duties in the current position.
- Remains competent and current by attending professional development courses, software training classes, and courses and/or training sessions as directed by the supervisor or required by the University.

As a _Student Financial Services Manager_ at Galen College of Nursing, you will create a service-oriented environment committed to supporting student educational goals by providing high quality financial aid counseling and support and providing a comprehensive approach to financial aid and student accounts advisements.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Provide leadership to campus financial aid support, student accounts and VA benefit services teams.
+ Oversee student accounts receivables, including, but not limited to, payment plans, account reconciliations, payment administration, collection procedures, resolving discrepancies, and communication.
+ Utilize discretion in the enforcement and application of college policies, including, but not limited to, holds, collections placements, and drops.
+ Proactively prepare, review, and analyze reports on outstanding accounts, identifying trends, and directing staff to take action to minimize unpaid balances.
+ Ensures that eligible and prospective VA students are informed about their benefits, new and existing laws, and services available to them through the department.
+ Facilitates and ensures compliance with federal, state, and other agencies to meet the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs laws governing veterans' educational benefits. Serve as a VA certifying official and contribute to the success of the military student population.
+ Evaluate and improve the practices of the student experience, including timely, effective, and positive engagement with the active student population to increase awareness of financial responsibility and options for funding their education.
+ Utilize CRM systems for monitoring and reporting purposes.
+ Oversee all aspects of financial aid support, student accounts and VA benefit services including hiring, training, and developing of new and existing team members.
+ Evaluate individual team member's performance on a frequent basis through observations and other coaching opportunities. Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual performance feedback and plans of action, as needed.
+ Assisting the Operations Leader in improving the processes of the day-to-day operations of the department.
+ Assist in preparation of accrediting agency reports.
+ Perform other duties as needed to support the administrative services of the campus.
+ Assist with graduation ceremonies and/or new student orientations, as needed.
**Position Requirements:**
+ Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
+ Experience: Leadership experience with current best practices in financial aid, student accounts, or VA benefits services preferred. Experience with process-improvement initiatives and leadership in change-management environments preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word required. CRM experience preferred.
+ Special Qualifications: Excellent communication skills, integrity, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external constituents.
+ Physical/Mental Demands & Work Environment: Must be able to work flexible schedule to include some evenings and occasional weekends. Ability to travel to local outside businesses, education institutions, etc. Must be able to sit at a desk for eight hours at a time.
+ Degree of Supervision: Minimal.
