We are looking for a resourceful candidate to join our Financial Research group based in India. Depending on the candidates location preference, the position is open for either of our Hyderabad or Gurugram offices in India. The role is a part of our Fundamental Equities team, which collaborates closely with front office groups to provide high-quality, in-depth research and analysis, supporting investment strategies and decision-making processes.

What youll do day-to-day

In this role, you will be expected to take ownership of stocks under active coverage and build/maintain financial models, track news flows, summarize sell-side research views, cover earnings and other key catalyst events, and perform valuations-related analysis. You will also conduct in-depth benchmarking of valuation and operational metrics (versus peer group), as well as sensitivity and scenario analysis. The role requires close collaboration with front office groups to iterate on financial models and investment research. Additionally, you will attend management/intermediary/sector expert calls and develop industry sector expertise. In the long term, you will be expected to deliver high quality end-to-end equity research.

- Publish proprietary equity research in industries aligned to the firm's Banking sectors exhibiting the firm's expertise in the sector.
- Create and publish proprietary equity research content in designated industry with stock recommendations (Buy, Hold, Sell) to institutional buy-side clients.
- Conduct due diligence and provide industry expertise for capital markets equity transactions and responsible for initiating C-suite corporate access resources to institutional equity clients.
- Responsible for initiating C-suite corporate access resources to institutional equity clients including non- deal roadshows, conferences, field trips, bus tours, and conference calls.
- Conduct independent industry assessments and company-specific research reports.
- Involvement with corporate client relationships at the highest C- Level (CEO, President, COO, CFO, Director of Strategy, etc)
- Work closely with senior analyst in the research production process as well as with the supervisory analysts in the publication process.
- Conduct research at several levels: macro, industry and individual companies
- Build models at the industry and company level, including market and market share forecasts, revenue, EPS, and cash flow forecasts at the company level.
- Conduct financial and valuation analyses.
- Formulate investment ideas.
- Write draft research commentary.
- Work closely with Capital Markets, sales, and trading to help leverage the analyst's research product into the institutional client base.
- Maintain active dialog with representatives of covered companies.

Requirements
- Must have Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field plus 5 years of progressive experience in finance and/or investment banking positions performing/utilizing the following:
o Financial and accounting concepts to facilitate the creation of in-depth financial models and reports
o Developing technical analyses on the banking industry and economic outlook for using Platforms including: S&P Global Market Intelligence, Bloomberg, Moody's, FactSet, Visible Alpha, Experian, Mortgage Bankers Association, and Inside Mortgage Finance, and CoStar
o Creating different types of financial models including: DDM, DCF, M&A (with full purchase accounting and other deal impacts), and sum-of-the-parts
o Utilizing Federal Reserve and industry databases including H8 (commercial banks assets and liabilities), G19 (consumer credit), Z1 (Fed flow funds), FRED, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac
o Application of financial and regulatory concepts including Basel III, CET1, RWA, TLAC, SLR, CECL, fair value and credit marks
o Strong understanding of the regulatory environment and key institutions including the FDIC, OCC, the Federal Reserve, FFIEC, and the NCUA and the implications they have on the operating environment for banks
o Various interest rates and yields and their applications in models and research content, including Fed Funds rates, Fed Funds futures, SOFR, Treasury yields, IG / Non-IG credit spreads, mortgage spreads, MBS spreads, and 2-10 spreads
- In the alternative, employer will accept an MBA or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field plus 3 years of experience in finance and/or investment banking positions performing/utilizing the aforementioned.
