Aquila's Fitness Specialist (as needed) assists members in safe and effective exercise and performs a wide range of technical exercise and administrative duties in health/fitness center.
The location for this position is in the Los Angeles 90012 zip code. The work schedule is as-needed, when you are available. The fitness center is staffed only Monday-Friday from 12 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. The pay rate is $22/hour. You may also be able to earn personal training commissions in addition to the hourly pay if you perform any personal training sessions. There is no work on weekends.

- Supervise exercise areas
- Educate members concerning safe exercise techniques
- Teach group exercise classes
- Conduct personal training sessions
- Perform exercise assessments and prescribe exercise upon American College of Sports Medicine guidelines
- Conduct safe and effective assessments including cardiovascular, strength, flexibility and body composition analysis; evaluate and interpret data and identify high risk participants and special populations
- Aid members - spotting and equipment usage
- Explain all equipment
- Ensure the maintenance, cleanliness and safety of all equipment
- Adhere to departmental and club policies and procedures
- Adhere to client's policies and procedures
- Attend staff meetings
- Assist in wellness and fitness promotions and external events
- Perform daily administrative duties
- B.S. in Kinesiology, Exercise Science or in related health/fitness field OR an active NCCA accredited national fitness certification (ACE, NASM, AFAA, ACSM, NCSF, NSCA or other NCCA accredited certification)
- Active CPR certification
- 1+ year experience in supervising adults during exercises
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of fitness training principles
