What You'll Do:

Promote Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards.

Operate Lowboy and Heavy Equipment. Operate haul trucks and other construction equipment to transport and dump loose materials such as sand, gravel, crushed rock, and/or operate a lowboy trailer for transporting equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

Inspect Equipment. Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with Vulcan standards. Complete daily mobile equipment reports and other relevant documentation with accuracy. Must be able to handle and understand Department of Transportation regulations, keeping all documentation up to date.

Maintain Equipment. Maintain equipment performance by checking vehicle fluid levels, and assist in performing other minor maintenance. Report unsafe mechanical conditions to supervisor.

Monitor Processes, Materials, and Surroundings. Must have the ability to operate all types of heavy equipment to assist with the loading and unloading on the lowboy.

Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.

Skills You'll Need:

Experience. Previous experience operating heavy construction equipment is preferred.

Ready to Drive. Must possess a commercial driver's license and have a valid DOT physical or the ability to get one.

Knowledge of Best Practices. Knowledge of general principles and practices of operating and servicing heavy construction equipment is preferred. Experience with Department of Transportation rules and regulations for transporting heavy equipment is preferred.

Flexibility. Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.

Job Summary

Operates 26Ft—flatbed truck with a capacity of a maximum of 26,000 pounds.

General Accountabilities

Checks vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order. Maneuvers trucks into loading or unloading positions, Collects delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes. Maintains logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations. Reports vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles. Secures cargo for transport, chains, binders, and straps.

Drives trucks with capacities greater than three tons, to transport and deliver products, and materials. Obtains receipts or signatures for delivered goods. Inventories and inspects goods to be moved to determine quantities and conditions. Communicates necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers. Performs basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid or performing minor repairs. Reads bills of lading to determine assignment details. Checks all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate. Reads and interprets maps to determine vehicle routes. Loads and unloads trucks, or helps others with loading and unloading, operating any special loading-related equipment on vehicles, and using other equipment as necessary. As a professional flatbed truck driver, you will be responsible for transporting vital goods and materials across regional and over-the-road routes. This is an excellent opportunity to utilize your skills and experience in hauling various types of cargo safely and efficiently.

• Transporting essential items such as glass, steel, aluminum, building materials, machinery, coils, and specialty metals
• Collaborating with dispatchers to optimize routes and schedules
