Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Float Pool Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organizations vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.
What you will do in this role:
* Assess the patients condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
* Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patients medical record. - Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
* Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
* Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patients medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
What qualifications you will need:
* Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice or compact state required

* Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date

Purpose of Position :
Under supervision, provides professional nursing care, within their designated acute care facility, as a Float Pool Nurse, to patients/clients in the following approved health care specialties within Acute Care: Emergency Department (Adults), Emergency Department (Pediatrics), Inpatient (Adults), Critical Care/Telemetry (Adults), Medical-Surgical (Adults). Diagnoses and treats responses to actual or potential health problems by means of nursing methods and techniques, such as case-finding, health teaching, health counseling and provision of care supportive to and restorative of life and well-being, while ensuring optimal utilization of resources, service delivery, safe patient care, and compliance with all applicable local, state, federal and NYC Health + Hospitals rules and regulations and nursing standards of care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
1. Identifies and discriminates between physical and psycho-social signs and symptoms. Selects and performs those therapeutic measures which are essential for effective execution of the nursing regimen for assigned patients/clients.
2. Develops, implements and continuously evaluates the nursing regimen for assigned patients/clients.
3. Records and maintains nursing care plans and progress notes on patients/clients to ensure continuity of care.
4. Interprets and reports responses of patients/clients to appropriate members of the health team.
5. Participates with interdisciplinary health team members to plan a comprehensive patient care program.
6. Determines and assigns those components of the nursing regimen which may be carried out by allied nursing personnel.
7. Provides teaching, guidance and direction to allied nursing personnel in rendering patient care. Ensures a more highly-prepared nursing pool team by providing orientation on H+H processes, policies and departments.
8. Participates in defining, implementing, maintaining and interpreting standards of nursing practice.
9. Participates in departmental and interdisciplinary conferences pertaining to policies and procedures affecting
nursing practice. Participates in committees, task forces and research projects, as related to the Float Pool.
10. Participates in determining conditions, resources and policies essential to the delivery of nursing care services.
11. Participates in development and maintenance of a system of evaluation of nursing care, practices and procedures, including evaluation of nursing personnel.
12. Interprets philosophy and objectives of the System and Nursing Department to patients/clients, families and other groups.
13. Maintains professional competence through participation in continuing education and other appropriate learning experiences.
14. Performs other professional nursing activities, as directed by nursing service administration.
Minimum Qualifications
1. A valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State; and
2. One (1) year of clinical nursing experience in the specialty area in which assigned to float; and
3. Holds or obtains a valid and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).
Additional Salary Compensation
In addition to base compensation, you may also receive the following based on the Collectively-Bargained Agreement:
An annual education differential if you currently possess an appropriate degree in nursing or an allied health discipline from an accredited college or university, as listed below:
Bachelors in allied health discipline = $900
Masters in allied health discipline = $,200
Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) = 1,800
Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) = 2,000
Doctorate in Education, Nursing Practice or PhD in Nursing (DNP) = 2,500
An annual certification differential if you currently hold appropriate certifications that are nationally recognized in the discipline or area of specialization for which you are employed, as listed below:
Certifications in the following disciplines/areas of specialization are eligible for premium pay at 3,000:
Certifications in the following disciplines/areas of specialization are eligible for premium pay at 2,000:
All other nationally recognized certifications are eligible for regular pay at 1,878.
An annual certification differential ranging from 1,878 up to 4,878 if you currently hold appropriate certifications that are nationally recognized in the discipline or area of specialization for which you are employed.
An annual nursing experience differential ranging from 987 up to 8,190 for up to 10 years of experience if you have outside nursing experience as a Staff Nurse.

Facilitates internal transfers, and incoming/outgoing transfers; Ensures the transfer laws and the Hospital policies are followed properly on patients requiring emergent medical care and/or bed placement. * Coordinate with Memorial-Hermann Air Traffic Control all helicopters landing and ensure that the medical staff is on the helipad to meet the helicopter
* Responsible for verifying the hospital census and ensure that all patients are being charged the appropriate level of care
* Ensure the quality of patient admissions to the hospital by obtaining accurate demographic and clinical information in a timely and efficient manner on all patients being bedded. This includes direct admits, intra and inter-hospital transfers, surgery patients, etc. observation, inpatient, and outpatient-in-a-bed status

Duties & Responsibilities
Purpose of Position :
Under supervision, provides professional nursing care, within their designated acute care facility, as a Float Pool Nurse, to patients/clients in the following approved health care specialties within Acute Care: Emergency Department (Adults), Emergency Department (Pediatrics), Inpatient (Adults), Critical Care/Telemetry (Adults), Medical-Surgical (Adults). Diagnoses and treats responses to actual or potential health problems by means of nursing methods and techniques, such as case-finding, health teaching, health counseling and provision of care supportive to and restorative of life and well-being, while ensuring optimal utilization of resources, service delivery, safe patient care, and compliance with all applicable local, state, federal and NYC Health + Hospitals rules and regulations and nursing standards of care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
1. Identifies and discriminates between physical and psycho-social signs and symptoms. Selects and performs those therapeutic measures which are essential for effective execution of the nursing regimen for assigned patients/clients.
2. Develops, implements and continuously evaluates the nursing regimen for assigned patients/clients.
3. Records and maintains nursing care plans and progress notes on patients/clients to ensure continuity of care.
4. Interprets and reports responses of patients/clients to appropriate members of the health team.
5. Participates with interdisciplinary health team members to plan a comprehensive patient care program.
6. Determines and assigns those components of the nursing regimen which may be carried out by allied nursing personnel.
7. Provides teaching, guidance and direction to allied nursing personnel in rendering patient care. Ensures a more highly-prepared nursing pool team by providing orientation on H+H processes, policies and departments.
8. Participates in defining, implementing, maintaining and interpreting standards of nursing practice.
9. Participates in departmental and interdisciplinary conferences pertaining to policies and procedures affecting
nursing practice. Participates in committees, task forces and research projects, as related to the Float Pool.
10. Participates in determining conditions, resources and policies essential to the delivery of nursing care services.
11. Participates in development and maintenance of a system of evaluation of nursing care, practices and procedures, including evaluation of nursing personnel.
12. Interprets philosophy and objectives of the System and Nursing Department to patients/clients, families and other groups.
13. Maintains professional competence through participation in continuing education and other appropriate learning experiences.
14. Performs other professional nursing activities, as directed by nursing service administration.
Minimum Qualifications
1. A valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State; and
2. One (1) year of clinical nursing experience in the specialty area in which assigned to float; and
3. Holds or obtains a valid and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).

Responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the OR and other areas of perioperative services for all patient populations. Functions as an RN first assistant during operative and other invasive procedures and throughout the perioperative continuum in accordance with scope of practice credentials, privileges, experience, education and competency verification. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
* Current California RN License

* RNFA or CRNFA certification
* Three (3) years operating room experience as an RN or one (1) year current surgical first assistant experience required.
* Minimum fifty (50) core procedures completed within the past 24 months
