Role Description

Purpose Statement

The Mixer II is responsible for defining, clarifying and enhancing the procedures for mixing dough in compliance with Quality Standards and Rich's Policies.

Key Accountabilities and Outcomes

  • To produce a wholesome product that is free from any possible contamination, in compliance with Rich's Quality Standards and Specifications.
  • Ensures that all required documentation for production records is completed according to Rich's policies.
  • Makes Safety a first priority, while carrying out daily responsibilities. Reports any unsafe acts of conditions to immediate superior
  • Inspects equipment prior to starting to mix to ensure that it is in working condition and free of any foreign material.
  • Procures Product Specifications and Formulas or products to be run, according to the schedule.
  • Request ingredients necessary to produce required product quantity.
  • Inspects raw material to ensure that it is fit to be used, according to Quality Standards. Informs supervision of any found deviation.
  • Operates assigned equipment according to SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures)
  • Fills up all required documentation related to Quality records
  • Communicates with Die Cut Operator regarding dough performance

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities within the organization. This includes managing the preventative maintenance program, work orders, special projects, and other general departmental functions. Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date PM records.
  • Schedule and assign daily tasks to shift mechanics.
  • Order and track parts necessary for PMs and projects.
  • Review the work performed and documentation by mechanics to ensure adherence to GMP standards.
Work Orders:
  • Perform daily facility inspections to identify issues requiring attention from the department.
  • Manage the work order system, including: - Generating and receiving work orders (WO) - Logging WO - Assigning labor resources for WO completion - Verifying WO completion and documentation
  • Report WO status regularly to the Manager.
Projects:
  • Collaborate with supervisors, inventory control, and department managers to: - Obtain quotes - Issue purchase orders (POs) - Schedule projects, contractors, and deliveries - Monitor progress and troubleshoot any issues - Confirm project completion and approve invoices for external services, equipment, and parts.
Maintenance Department Administration:
  • Coordinate technician training programs, including new hire orientations, external vendor training, and internal training initiatives.
  • Ensure stock room organization on each shift. 19. Maintain a critical parts inventory and ensure accurate inventory levels.
  • Assist in special projects as needed to ensure high-quality production and company success.
  • Fill in for the Maintenance Shift Supervisor when necessary.
  • Send periodic reports of PM/WO completion and downtime.
Education/Experience:
  • Minimum of five years' experience in a similar role (baking experience preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of managing tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Extensive experience with preventative maintenance systems is strongly preferred.
  • Lean or Six Sigma certifications are a plus.

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities within the organization. This includes managing the preventative maintenance program, work orders, special projects, and other general departmental functions. The Maintenance Manager will serve as the primary coach and trainer for maintenance supervisors, and will actively participate in continuous improvement efforts throughout the maintenance department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Interact comfortably with personnel at all organizational levels.
  • Ensure accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks, and continuously seek to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Set both strategic and tactical direction to plan, schedule, and control maintenance processes, ensuring alignment with customer needs. This includes managing repairs, preventative maintenance, machine fabrication, installation, and tool modifications.
  • Provide leadership and technical expertise to ensure adherence to existing procedures while driving continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement methods and procedures that enhance operations, reduce operating costs, and maximize the use of labor and materials.
  • Collaborate with management to review new product plans and discuss equipment requirements.
  • Establish spare parts inventory for new and existing equipment.
  • Foster a safe work environment by regularly auditing areas for hazards and promoting safe work habits among the team.
  • Understand, promote, and enforce company philosophies and policies.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned.
Preventative Maintenance:
  • Gather data to assess current work processes, including work flow, time requirements, costs, and durations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve productivity and efficiency across various work processes.
  • Apply industrial problem-solving techniques to evaluate improvements in recommended strategies and programs.
  • Instruct others in continuous process improvements using problem-solving techniques like process mapping and cost-time management.
  • Lead change initiatives and assist in the implementation of business strategies.
  • Manage cross-functional projects to improve operations by reducing errors, waste, and defects in manufacturing.
  • Formalize the PM program, ensuring that tasks, frequency, time budgets, and materials are defined to minimize downtime and ensure product quality.
  • Optimize downtime by scheduling PMs during production days whenever possible.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date PM records.
  • Schedule and assign daily tasks to shift mechanics.
  • Order and track parts necessary for PMs and projects.
  • Review the work performed and documentation by mechanics to ensure adherence to GMP standards.
Work Orders:
  • Perform daily facility inspections to identify issues requiring attention from the department.
  • Manage the work order system, including: - Generating and receiving work orders (WO) - Logging WO - Assigning labor resources for WO completion - Verifying WO completion and documentation
  • Report WO status regularly to the Manager.
Projects:
  • Collaborate with supervisors, inventory control, and department managers to: - Obtain quotes - Issue purchase orders (POs) - Schedule projects, contractors, and deliveries - Monitor progress and troubleshoot any issues - Confirm project completion and approve invoices for external services, equipment, and parts.
Maintenance Department Administration:
  • Coordinate technician training programs, including new hire orientations, external vendor training, and internal training initiatives.
  • Ensure stock room organization on each shift. 19. Maintain a critical parts inventory and ensure accurate inventory levels.
  • Assist in special projects as needed to ensure high-quality production and company success.
  • Fill in for the Maintenance Shift Supervisor when necessary.
  • Send periodic reports of PM/WO completion and downtime.
Education/Experience:
  • Minimum of five years' experience in a similar role (baking experience preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of managing tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Extensive experience with preventative maintenance systems is strongly preferred.
  • Lean or Six Sigma certifications are a plus.
