A Typical Day
The Food Safety Supervisor is responsible for providing supervisory and technical support to Quality Assurance, Operations, Maintenance, Quality Systems and Engineering. Manage functions, related to Food Safety.
Job Responsibilities
- Manages, oversees and audits the daily activities of the HACCP program, ensuring its execution and effectiveness.
- Conduct, manage and report GMP, HACCP, Environmental and Pest Control Audits. Hold self and others accountable to HCC's food safety & sanitation guidelines and policies by communicating any food safety incident, observation, or opportunity to your leadership team or teammates.
- Manage Equipment Food Safety Inspections and Food Safety Permit process.
- Assist with training, teaching, and educating employees on company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Work closely with Engineering and Maintenance Staff to assist with equipment design, implementation, and Food Safety Permit inspection and Project reviews.
• Bachelor's degree and 2 years QA and/or manufacturing experience OR High School Diploma from an accredited institution and 5 years QA and/or manufacturing experience.
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts (days/Swings/graveyard).
• Working knowledge of SQF (Safe Quality Foods) Code
• Intermediate experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Tactical knowledge of Production Operations management and food safety relevance
• Intermediate understanding of Food Safety related State and Federal Regulations
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
What Will Put You Ahead
- Bachelor's degree plus 5 year related experience OR Master's degree in related field
- Supervisory experience
- Experience with SAP, SharePoint and Ultimus
Physical Demands & Work Environment
The role has periods of time when the work environment is sedentary and conducted in an office environment balanced with frequent occasions that require prolonged walking or standing, lifting/ carrying/handling moderate weight objects on a regular basis. Is required to wear PPE and have a regular presence in manufacturing and warehouse environments in both temperature controlled and uncontrolled locations. Must frequently interact with people verbally. Specific details of the essential functions of the position is available in the Job Safety Analysis, made available on request.

**WHAT YOU WILL DO:**
The Food Safety Sanitor performs sanitation labor by performing the eight steps of sanitation while understanding and complying with all food safety and safety policies and procedures. Job duties include:
- Work cooperatively with leads and management to ensure sanitation procedures are followed.
- Frequently lift hoses, equipment, and chemical containers, etc.
- Wear employer-specified personal protective equipment ("PPE") such as gloves, face shield, eye goggles, aprons, boots, safety glasses, etc.
- Exposure to chemicals (with PPE required for the task).
- All night standing, lifting, and crouching for periods at a time.
- Perform all tasks safely.
- Use Lock-out tag-out ("LOTO").
- Other duties as assigned.
**YOUR MUST HAVES:**
+ Must be 18 years of age or older.
+ Ability to take direction and instruction from managers and be accountable for own actions.
+ Safety awareness and attention to detail.
+ Ability to work in extreme temperature fluctuations.

- Inspect instruments for cleanliness, function, and damage prior to packaging.
- Document missing or damaged instruments per SOPs.
- Maintain records of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, and inventory.
- Perform equipment maintenance and keep work areas clean/organized.
- Communicate effectively with team members and operations staff.
- Participate in ongoing training and suggest process improvements.
