Duties:
+ The Material Handler position is responsible for performing various general warehouse duties
+ Material handlers will process orders for shipment, including picking, packing, checking and restocking
+ Material handlers will also handle computer data inquiries and special processing of customer orders
+ This is a entry-level position with little or no prior relevant work experience

Position Requirements:
+ High School diploma or GED
+ Previous experience in a warehouse/distribution environment desired, but not required
+ Familiarity with computer inquiries and data entry
+ Able to read and count accurately and follow verbal and written directions
+ Able to perform repetitive motions and lift 30-50 lbs. continuously
+ Able to work overtime as needed with little or no advance notice
+ Must be able to stand and/or walk for the duration of shift

**Position Summary:**
The Associate Material Handler is responsible for initiating, maintaining, and compiling records associated with ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping materials, supplies, and equipment.
**Essential Functions:**
+ Compares nomenclature, stock numbers, and other listed information on packing slips to verify accuracy of purchase orders and shipping orders
+ Compiles and performs data entry tasks to maintain inventory, purchasing, shipping, and other records; uses data sources such as contracts, purchase orders, invoices, requisitions, etc.
+ Supports verification of inventory computations against physical count of stock and adjusts errors and documents discrepancies with proposed corrective action
+ Maintains manual or computerized records such as material inventory, in-process production reports, and status of material locations
+ Supports compilation of information on receipt of disbursement of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies, and computes inventory balance, price, and cost
+ Packages materials and equipment ensuring that shipping documentation is accurate and materials are protected adequately for shipment; follows most efficient and economical routing and mode of transportation
+ Supports investigations into causes of misdirected shipments, damage or shortages in shipments or overcharges in freight cost
+ Performs other duties as assigned
