We're looking to hire great camera operators who love making stuff for YouTube and have a passion for cars and comedy. You should be independent, multifaceted, and resourceful, and have shot cars before.
Freelance, based in-person at our Inglewood, California headquarters - with the opportunity to grow to full time or move on to directing. We are constantly making videos and offer a steady stream of work!
$300-600 day rate, based on experience.

Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Directors to help develop their vision.
- Collaborate with Producers & Directors to understand their equipment needs for each individual project.
- Ability to communicate visual needs to directors, talent, and production.
- Proficiency in operating professional video cameras and related equipment to capture visually engaging footage, specifically the Canon C suite.
- Prep camera and production equipment prior to shoots.
- Ensure proper lighting and framing to achieve the desired visual aesthetic.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide support to the production team on set.
- Take charge in situations where the camera operator is the only person present.
- Travel to different locations depending on assignment.
- Keep an eye on opportunities for improvement on a go-forward basis, conducting and sharing a self assessment after the video has gone live and ideating ways to make the next video better than the last.
- Be your own A/C. On larger shoots we'll have a dedicated A/C but we all wear multiple hats. Flexibility is huge!
- A deep love of YouTube.
- Experience shooting cars.
- Ability to work in a demanding, high pressure and time sensitive environment.
- Good comedic sense + awareness.
- Professional experience is not necessary - BUT we want to see what you've done!

- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Understanding the value of thorough communication and when to call vs. text vs. email.

Summary
- Operation of an Ikegami Camera during the Live Racing Season.
- Operating video cameras and related equipment during Live Racing.
- Understanding and implementing various camera angles, movements, and techniques to achieve the director's vision.
- Maintaining and organizing camera equipment.
- Reporting Equipment problems to your supervisor when they occur.
- Standing for long periods of time.
- Climbing a 35 foot tall camera tower several times per day/night.
- Dependability, good attendance and occasional overtime required.
- Working outdoors in adverse weather conditions (Heat, Cold, Rain/Storm, etc.).
- Will be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

Education & Training:

The Studio is a creative focal point of video camera operators and editors within OKRP Chicago. This role involves crafting cinematic footage and creatively cutting a wide range of projects, from high-profile consumer-facing campaigns to content for new business pitches and internal OKRP needs. This is a versatile storyteller who can bring technical skill and creative vision to every edit and shoot.

- You have a strong ability to think creatively and strategically.
- You are a creative partner to our creative and social teams in creating video assets.
- Provide invaluable creative input on all creative and throughout the production process.
- Responsible for editing videos, per specifications of each job.
- Work with producers and the creative teams to screen cuts and address internal and client feedback in a timely and collaborative fashion throughout the approval process.
- Addresses all agency and/or client edit changes with quality output, clear communication and schedule in mind.
- Archives all footage, assets and project files per company process during each job.
- Actively engages with the production community around them and is a curious investigator of new technologies and practices.
- Owns any other duties/responsibilities assigned by supervisor.
