About the Role:
This job is part of the CBRE Data Center Solutions Project Management function. They are responsible for the management of projects from initiation through completion.
The Head of Projects is responsible for the delivery and oversight of Data Center Projects across all Business Units within this region. Additionally, the Head of Projects supports and manages all client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and to grow the business relationship and projects offering within Data Centre Solutions. Foster the relationship with key clients within our existing MA portfolio and new clients outside our existing client base.
The Head of Projects will ensure alignment between the account organization and other departments within DCS to maximize value creation and ensure excellence in project delivery by providing direction and oversight to enable business unit and account teams to positively contribute and comprehensively manage the fulfilment of our commitment to the client.
What You'll Do:
**General Business Responsibilities**
- Provide formal supervision for employees. Monitor the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and coaching. Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.
- Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed.
- Oversee all phases of project management including procurement, contracting, planning, tracking, and execution.
- Ensure that contract procurement, negotiation, execution, administration, and closeout are accurate, timely, and compliant.
- Monitor billing, accounts receivable collection, expense monitoring and control, staffing, and full P&L to EBITDA.
- Work cross-functionally with other business lines to achieve the company's strategic business objectives.
- Identify complex project risks, lead reviews, and develop risk mitigation and backup plans.
- Apply a broad knowledge of the business, own discipline, and how own discipline integrates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives.
- Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Influence others to adopt a different point of view while being guided by policies and departmental plans.
- Identify and solve technical and operational problems of complexity.

**Business Development & Marketing**
- Report on all major DC developments in the region ensuring the senior management team are fully informed of all potential opportunities in the market.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders in all major Data Centers in the region.
- Provide leadership in identifying and specifying project opportunities and in delivering contractual commitments.
- Delivering effective business communication and direct contribution to management team meetings, briefings, consultation forums, monthly and ad-hoc reporting and other publications, as appropriate.
- Acts as an expert in DCS business, culture and strategy by proactively contributing to the improvement of the DCS business
**Management, Planning & Value Creation** :
- To ensure projects are delivered to completion on time and on budget and to the satisfaction of all parties, expectations to be exceeded wherever possible.
- To identify, reduce and manage all project risks (technical, statutory, health and safety, commercial or otherwise).
- Build individual relationships with industry manufacturers & distributors.
- Ensure compliance with CBRE project management policies and procedures.
- Ensure the provision of healthy and safe working conditions and that both clients and Company health and safety policy and process are effectively implemented across both CBRE and sub-contractor activities and are regularly reviewed on every project.
- Building strong relationships with sub-contractors, in particular preferred suppliers, to ensure cost-effective solutions which meet our quality expectations can be delivered to our clients whilst managing the risk.
- Establish and execute resource & people strategy.
- Development of projects in line with financial plans for revenue and profit delivery.
- Manage the delivery of projects within agreed budget requirements with the target to maximize profit through cost reductions and better buying of sub-contractor services.
- Ensure appropriate control systems to ensure statutory, policy and contractual commitments are met.
- Strategic interpreter of needs and identifier of new value-added services.
- Working with other Operational managers to ensure the collaborative development of the project's business with effective teamwork and the support of colleagues.
- Ensuring a customer focus within all areas of operational activities, and that effective relationships are maintained with key client contacts and the CBRE Data Center Solutions site teams/managers.
- Promoting and maintaining the core Values of CBRE and Turner & Townsend.
**Customer Relationship Management & Development:**
- Demonstrates credibility and leadership, influencing project outcomes. - Manages Data Center Solutions client relationships at the project level. - Creates alignment between customer need & project delivery.
**Leadership:**
- Direct support for the account teams and may have direct reporting as well as matrix reporting responsibilities.
- Manages in a diverse environment.

- Direct technical support for the entire Americas Project Team, training and upskilling talent when required.
**P&L, Contract Management and Governance:**
- Complete financial reporting and forecast performance of Americas Data Center Projects.
- Responsible for delivery of the project, managing scope and change management as required.
- Manage and facilitate contract negotiations and compliance.
- Maintain all governance standards and requirements
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5 - 8 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. LEED AP, PMP, and CCM designations preferred.
- Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.
- Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems.
- Leadership skills to motivate the team to achieve broad operational targets with impacts on own job discipline, multiple job disciplines, and department.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Extensive organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mindset.
- Intermediate math skills. Ability to calculate complicated figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
- Experience in Construction Management, Data Center Projects or relevant M&E or Technology/ICT.
- Broad understanding of Construction Safety, and jobsite health and safety. OSHA 30 Preferred.
CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Data Center Head of Projects is is $170,000 annually and the maximum salary of $185,000 annually The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on their skills, qualifications, and experience.
