Summary
Responsible for managing a team of social workers, inclusive of daily operations, clinical supervision and administrative support. The Social Work Manger is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, and social work collaboration with other healthcare professionals to address the psychosocial needs of individuals and families. The Social Work Manager plays an integral role in program development, advancing quality initiatives, and contributing to strategic planning efforts to elevate the scope of social work services that deliver the highest level of impact and value.
Essential Functions
- Establish/support a social work clinical escalation pathway to be utilized by social work staff and other members of the interdisciplinary team when social work leadership intervention is needed.
- Conduct social work staff meetings on a regular cadence that includes overview of performance metrics at least quarterly, incorporates community partner engagement to support care progression and discharge planning, and reinforces hospital goals and priorities and the department's role in achieving them.
- Oversee the coordination of clinical social work services, ensuring timely and appropriate social work interventions.
- Evaluates and advances opportunities for social work program growth, quality improvement and alignment with broader hospital initiatives.
- Attend daily hospital safety huddle.
- Manage daily social work operations inclusive of staffing/time off requests and payroll support.
Responsible for generating and reviewing weekly productivity reports for all social work staff, identifying trends related to service line engagement, patient acuity and staffing gaps to inform operational planning and resource allocation.
- Responsible for Social Work Administrator On-Call duties during the afterhours, weekends and holidays. This responsibility is part of a calendar rotation.
- Responsible for social work recruitment, social work hiring, onboarding and orientation.
- Responsible for completing annual performance evaluations for all social work staff inclusive of per-diems and the Addiction Recovery Patient Navigator.
- Oversees staff performance, addressing areas of concern, providing coaching, and implementing performance improvement plans as needed to ensure high quality social work practice.
- Support and participate in ongoing efforts to provide opportunities for social work clinical education and professional development.
- Performs other duties as assigned

    Position Summary:

    The Social Work Manager provides individual and group clinical supervision to social workers across all Interdisciplinary Teams (IDTs). The Social Work Manager is responsible for the direct supervision of all members of the social work team including the Participant Navigators and provides leadership by facilitating the identification of opportunities for practice improvement, continuing education, and expertise development. The Social Work Manager is responsible for the hiring, training and orientation of social work staff, and ensures social work staffing at all PACE Centers. As a member of the Neighborhood PACE Social Work team, the Social Work Manager is responsible for providing clinical services and care coordination for Neighborhood PACE Participants across all teams. The Neighborhood PACE Social Work Manager is an integral member of Neighborhood PACE’s Interdisciplinary Teams. In this capacity, the Social Work Manager conducts clinical assessments, formulates treatment plans which are updated on the care plan; coordinates interventions with other providers and members of the IDT to support participants’ mental health consistent with Neighborhood PACE policies and procedures.     Clinical Supervision

    • Recruits and hires new social workers and participant navigators.

    • Orients new social workers utilizing a written training manual, individual and group mentoring, online training and a written training checklist in collaboration with the Center Director.

    • Provides regularly scheduled individual and group clinical supervision of social work staff to ensure that practices, standards and performance are consistent with social work policies, procedures, workflows and documentation standards.

    • Is available to social work staff as needed for clinical problem-solving.

    • Provides direct supervision of Social Workers and Participant Navigators.

    • Oversees the clinical performance of social workers as it relates to the Interdisciplinary Team

    • With the social work team, facilitates the development and implementation of social work tools for assessments, care planning and interventions.

    • Collaborates with the Director of Clinical Operations to audit social work policies and procedures, updating as needed.

    • Maintains knowledge of current evidence-based practice and the impact of the regulatory environment on social work practice.

    Leadership

    • Able to assess patients for cognitive disorders including various forms of dementia and stroke related cognitive disorders that affect functioning

    • Able to perform risk assessments, and crisis intervention.

    • Has the knowledge and ability to assess issues of elder abuse, neglect and financial exploitation. Demonstrates and assists staff with making reports to appropriate agencies. Keeps social work teams up to date on any reporting or regulatory changes.

    • Demonstrates the ability to consult with and guide social work staff in developing appropriate interventions for their participants.

    • Acts as liaison to the Ethics Committee including scheduling of meetings, solicitation and distribution of cases

    • Acts as consultant to the interdisciplinary teams providing teaching and appropriate interventions to problematic cases.

    SKILLS/ABILITIES: Must have the ability to clearly communicate standards and requirements and mentor staff with multiple levels of licensure, experience and responsibility. Must have the skills to implement and oversee performance standards across a range of Social Work practices and to analyze and correct deficiencies and inefficient practices when they occur. Must demonstrate creativity, flexibility, and openness to new ideas. Must be proficient in documentation and communication in Microsoft office, Epic Care and other computerized documentation and management systems. Must have demonstrated leadership potential. BLS required.

    Summary of Position:

    Based in one of the Clubs, the Ready to Work (RTW) University Employment Specialist recruits and prepares students for employment throughout the year and identifies work-ready students to make appropriate referrals. In coordination with RTW team, RTW Employment Specialist supports members through selection processes and at worksites to make sure that they are meeting employer expectations and engaging in productive work-based learning experiences. The RTW Employment Specialist must be able to work effectively with members, employers, Club personnel and RTW Leadership.

    What You Will Do:
    • Identifies, prepares, and matches students with jobs and internships, both during the summer and after school, and with career awareness activities such as but not limited to job shadows and site visits. In conjunction with the RTW team, coordinates guest speakers, career fairs and other career themed activities that are deemed a good fit for our members.
    • Provides one-on-one attention to all members in RTW University. Ensures that members understand the opportunities that are being presented to them as well as how to complete applications and submit all relevant deliverables in a timely manner. Deliver the weekly RTW curriculum in person.
    • Delivers workshops on topics such as interview skills, resume writing and workplace etiquette. Leads career awareness and exploration activities such as career panels, advisory boards, and field trips in cooperation with club staff and RTW leadership.
    • Supports members at their worksites and their workplace supervisors in the use of the Massachusetts Work-Based Learning Plan as a skill development tool.
    • Collaborates with the RTW leadership team to facilitate the variety of employer-based programs and activities in partnership with the BGCB.
    • Inputs data on student activities and placements into a centralized database. Maintains current data on active student caseload. Regularly checks progress against work readiness milestones and placement goals.
    • Participates in all RTW initiatives especially those linked to career pathway development, and collaboration with college advising organizations.
    • Meets with the RTW team weekly to discuss progress on goals. Provides the RTW Leadership and Executive Director with a monthly summary of RTW activities in the Clubs.
    • Works closely with the RTW Academy Employment Specialist to make sure that students can make a smooth transition from RTW Academy to RTW University.

    What You Will Need:
    • Bachelor's degree preferred.
    • At least 2 years of relevant experience; demonstrate knowledge and understanding of youth development, workforce development, program facilitation and experience cultivating relationships with youth support network (e.g. families, school, etc.).
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
    • Strong interpersonal/communication skills, with ability to interact with a variety of audiences, including staff, board members, volunteers, and key individuals at partner organizations.
    • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining strong attention to detail.
    • Represent BGCB and Ready to Work in a consistent and professional manner to a variety of audiences.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Zoom, and ability to query complex database systems, such as to collect and organize data for research/reporting purposes.
    • Willingness and flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends for Operations and/or agency events.
    • Valid driver's license required and ability to commute throughout the Metro-Boston area as needed.
    • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs to assist in transport of donated goods.

    Note: This position may require occasional evening or weekend hours.

    Position Summary/Department Summary:
    The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Services is offering a full-time social work fellowship providing a solid, broad-based training opportunity for child and adolescent mental health. The fellowship offers intensive supervision by senior staff as well as participation in numerous social work and multidisciplinary trainings, and seminars. These include Psychotherapy Seminar, Social Work Didactic Seminar, Child Protection Seminar, Psychiatry Grand Rounds, and Psychiatry Morbidity and Mortality Conference, among others. Clinical work will be in Outpatient and Emergency Psychiatry. The fellowship runs from now through August 2026.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Provides clinical social work services in accordance with established professional, programmatic, and departmental standards and treatment models.
    • Directs care of patients and families across settings may include evaluation, crisis intervention, treatment planning, long and short-term care, case management, individual, family and group treatment and/or care.
    • Participates in didactic seminars and trainings and receives rigorous supervision and mentorship.
    • Effectively participates in departmental meetings, committees, work groups as needed or assigned. Prepares accurate, thorough, and timely documentation including patient encounter documentation, record keeping and reporting in conformance with hospital and departmental standards
    • One full day per week, the Fellow will work in the Emergency Psychiatry Services Department , learning emergency assessments and crisis intervention.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education:
    • Master's degree in social work
    Experience:
    • Strong clinical skills and experience with various therapeutic modalities.
    • Previous medical/hospital social work exposure ideal
    • People from diverse backgrounds encouraged to apply
    • Spanish language skills are a plus

    Licensure/Certifications:
    • LCSW in the state of MA required
