The Role
Our client is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to support a critical information assurance program. The role involves proposing, coordinating, and enforcing security policies and standards. You'll maintain the operational security posture of information systems, manage security aspects of the systems, and perform day-to-day security operations. You'll also be responsible for evaluating security solutions, conducting vulnerability/risk assessments, and preparing documentation such as System Security Plans (SSPs) and Certification and Accreditation (C&A) packages. This role requires managing changes to systems and assessing their security impact in compliance with the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF).
What You'll Bring
Five (5) years of combined experience in IT, cybersecurity, or security authorization.A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or IT Engineering. Four (4) additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
Experience in at least two of the following areas: security tools, hardware/software security implementation, communication protocols, or encryption tools and techniques
Familiarity with commercial security products, security authorization techniques, security incident management, and PKI.
One or more of the following certifications: CAP, CND, Cloud+, GSLC, Security+ CE, HCISPP.
Clearance Requirements

The Role
Our client is seeking a Senior Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to support the implementation and enforcement of security policies, standards, and methodologies. You'll analyze threats, develop best practices for incident detection and vulnerability remediation, and maintain the operational security posture for information systems. This role also involves managing Configuration Management, maintaining accreditation documentation, and providing support to the ISSM.
What You'll Bring
BS degree and at least 12 years of relevant experience, including:
10 years of experience as an ISSO maintaining secure information system operations
5 years of experience using tools to support IAVA management and the preparation and maintenance of SSPs and other security documentation
In-depth knowledge of and experience with security tools, hardware/software security implementation, communication protocols, and encryption techniques/tools
In-depth experience completing security evaluations of software systems or architectures
Experience proposing, coordinating, implementing, and enforcing information systems security policies
Experience performing day-to-day security operations
Strong interpersonal skills and a high level of self-initiative
DoD 8570 compliance with IAT/IAM Level II or higher
