SUMMARY:  

As an OR Surgical Tech, you are crucial in the efficiency and overall success of operations. You will assist the surgical team by acting as the primary scrub tech who handles the instruments, supplies and equipment during surgical procedures, ensuring sterilization at every point of the process. 

 
 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Must maintain at least 15 hours of Continuing Medical Education (CME) per year.

  • Provide a sterile field for surgical procedures. Ensures that the members of the surgical team are properly attired and assists the surgeon with draping the patient to isolate the operative site.

  • Passes instruments and supplies to the surgeon. 

  • Counts sponges and sharps with the RN prior to the surgery and before the incision is closed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Completed a military surgical technology program -OR-

  • Certified Surgical Technologist certification through National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTS) and degree in Surgical Technology required -OR- Grand-Fathering Clause - Provide evidence he or she was employed as a surgical technologist in a healthcare facility for a cumulative period of one year, occurring between 12/31/10 – 12/31/14. -OR- Hard to Fill Clause - A health care facility may employ or otherwise contract with a person who does not meet the requirements of the function of a surgical technologist if they are unable to employ or contract a sufficient number of qualified surgical technologists.

  • Certified Surgical Technologist certification through National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) required within 24 months after employment and degree from accredited program required.

SUMMARY:

The Addiction Therapist provides addiction diagnostic assessment, treatment planning, case management, and individual/group counseling for clients with chemical dependency. Treatment is provided in the context of a clinical team, supervised by the staff psychiatrist.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as a primary therapist providing Substance Use Disorder treatment through individual and group counseling.
  • Responsible for the timely completion of progress summaries and all patient documentation
  • Conducts quality audits of patient records and processes
  • Provides initial and ongoing assessment for clients in order to determine diagnosis and appropriate level of care.
  • Provides individual, family and group counseling, which engages and motivates clients throughout treatment.
  • Develops treatment plans that are individualized and culturally sensitive.
  • Communicates with other care providers and referral sources to increase understanding of client problems and assets.
  • Participates in professional supervision and education that supports continuous improvement of client care.
  • Completes required medical record documentation in a timely and comprehensive manner and in compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Participates as a contributing member of an interdisciplinary team in coordination and delivery of patient care.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of a clinical internship in chemical dependency or at least 1 year of work experience in chemical dependency or mental health program
  • CASAC, or CASAC-T permitted with the condition that full certification is obtained within 24 months or OASAS QHP (LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, LCAT, LMFT or permit holder)
