Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and driven Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with a strong clinical foundation in hormone replacement therapy (HRT), medical weight loss, peptides, and functional/integrative medicine. The ideal candidate has a passion for personalized care, is confident in developing tailored treatment plans, and thrives in a collaborative, high-energy environment.
In this role, you will serve as a clinical leader, working alongside our wellness and aesthetics teams to deliver cutting-edge treatments that transform lives while maintaining high standards of professionalism, client education, and compliance.
Responsibilities
Clinical + Wellness Responsibilities
Diagnose and treat hormone deficiencies using evidence-based HRT protocols (men and women).
Manage comprehensive medical weight loss programs including nutrition, lifestyle, and peptide-based support.
Create and monitor peptide therapy protocols based on client goals (e.g., body composition, cognitive support, gut healing).
Deliver client-centered care grounded in the principles of functional medicine.
Conduct in-depth consultations, labs reviews, and treatment planning.
Maintain accurate EMR documentation, oversee prescription management, and support continuity of care.
Utilize pharmacy portals to order compounded prescriptions and monitor fulfillment.
Aesthetic & Regenerative Medicine Services
Provide injectable treatments including neurotoxins and dermal fillers.
Educate clients on available aesthetic and regenerative options that complement their wellness plans.
Stay current on advances in regenerative medicine (e.g., exosomes, PRP, NAD+, IV therapies).
Team Collaboration & Client Education
Act as a clinical resource and mentor to staff (especially in HRT, peptides, and MWL protocols).
Partner with Client Advocates and Front of House staff to ensure continuity and clarity in client care.
Engage clients in educational conversations that drive understanding, compliance, and retention.
Participate in training, protocol development, and ongoing case reviews with the Medical Director.
Qualifications
Required:
Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program with national certification
Active PA license and eligibility for DEA registration
2+ years clinical experience in HRT, functional medicine, MWL, or peptides
Demonstrated ability to educate and build rapport with clients
Commitment to maintaining compliance, professionalism, and a client-first approach
Preferred:
Experience with peptide prescribing and compounded medications
Functional medicine certification (A4M, IFM, FMCA, etc.) or working knowledge
IV therapy experience
Comfortable with or willing to train in aesthetic injections
Background in cash-pay wellness models

This physician will focus on the Functional Medicine team approach to provide excellent patient experiences and deliver innovative, value-based care at the Cleveland Clinic. Key functions will include:
+ Building a patient-focused functional medicine practice
+ Building an internal and external referral network that results in chronically ill patients coming to the Cleveland Clinic Center for Functional Medicine
+ Working closely with the Medical Director in clinical program development and implementation
+ Working closely with team members to optimize the patient care experience
+ Providing feedback to Medical Director and Practice Administrator on effective mechanisms to improve patient flow, patient care, EMR documentation, diagnostic testing options, and nutraceutical therapeutics.
+ Providing clinical support for shared medical visits
+ Providing education to support patient groups aimed at supporting health behaviors and lifestyle changes
+ Providing education to medical staff, residents, and students on functional medicine
Job Activities
+ Provide chronic disease care from a Functional Medicine perspective by interviewing, assessing, and treating clinical patients, meeting their medical needs, and improving their quality of life
+ Consult with Medical Director and other professionals on staff as needed regarding patient care, assessment, and education issues
+ Educate patients on wellness, prevention, and early detection by providing materials and resources to patients and families
+ Participate in quality improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs established by the hospital or clinic requirements
+ Oversee mid-level medical staff as assigned, as well as nursing clinical staff; assign appropriate aspects of care to non-physician staff
+ Assist in the resolution of complaints, requests, and inquiries from patients
+ Maintain confidentiality of all patient information according to federal guidelines and regulations
+ Present case studies on a monthly basis to promote clinical staff education/ training
+ Complete all charts and dictation (if applicable) on the day of visit assuring completeness and accuracy
+ Take responsibility for comprehensive and accurate coding of each patient encounter submitted the day of encounter
+ Participate in utilization, research, and quality activities within practice setting as well as in activities affecting the ambulatory care network as a whole
+ Represent the Cleveland Clinic and the Center for Functional Medicine in the local and broader community, participating in educational and other medically oriented programs for the public, physicians, and patients
+ Demonstrate the philosophy, mission and core values associated with _Patient First_ in performance of job responsibilities, including courteous and cooperative behavior toward patients, visitors, volunteers, and peers
+ Demonstrate initiative and creativity, decision-making abilities, and work flexibility
+ Follow organizational policies, procedures, and protocols
+ Provide mentoring and/or coaching to nutritionist, health coach, and other clinicians
+ Fulfill all requirements as detailed in the Employment Contract and meet all regular responsibilities of a CC physician, including:
+ Providing medical services in the general care and treatment of patients in both practice and hospital settings

The Functional Medicine Physician provides clinical leadership to ensure treatment is evidence-based and outcome driven. In addition to having highly trained psychiatrists to collaborate with in each clinic, the use of master’s level clinical historians, psychological testing, neuropsychological screening tools, functional brain imaging, and emerging technology-based treatments such as TMS, HBOT, and neurofeedback, you will be in a healthy and aesthetically pleasing work environment. You will also have multiple opportunities for writing and speaking, if that appeals to you.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive Integrative Medicine exams and follow-up appointments
- Assist in the development, promotion and delivery of the Amen Clinics Method as it relates to brain and body health
- Utilize nutraceutical, pharmacological, neurophysiological, and behavioral approaches in the treatment of patients and families
- Management of patient case load: completing timely reports, maintaining charts, addressing patient concerns, and ensure the privacy and proper handling of patient information in accordance with State and Federal regulation
- Remain current with functional medicine, brain imaging, psychiatric, pharmaceutical and nutraceutical methods
- Assess potential causes and effects of toxic, metabolic, infectious, inflammatory, hormonal, and other factors in:
- Attention deficit hyperactivity disorders
- Mood disorders
- Anxiety disorders
- Psychotic disorders
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Addictions
- Traumatic brain injury
- Obesity
- Biomedical illness

Qualifications and Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited school of medicine (M.D. or D.O. degree)
- IFMCP training (certification preferred)
- ABOiM, AIHM integrative residency or Fellowship a plus
- Experience working in a fee for service setting in which operational efficiency, the fostering of referent relationships, providing high quality clinical work, and establishing positive therapeutic relationships is a core part of the role
- Experience dealing with a wide variety of medical issues, including hormone imbalances, infections and nutrients deficiencies, and understanding the role they play in contributing to and/or complicating mental illness
- Time management, organization and computer skills and ability to work independently and within a team are critical.
- Empathy, emotional stability, ability to relate well to others, good communications skills and above all genuine care and regard for the patient are required.
- Willingness to learn to use brain imaging in clinical practice. We will train you on the applications of brain SPECT imaging in psychiatry and functional medicine and how to utilize this data in patient evaluations.

You will provide direct patient care, discussing patient symptoms and concerns and performing thorough examinations to diagnose their medical problem and prescribe medication or create a treatment plan if necessary.
Provide comprehensive exams and follow-up
Assist in the development, promotion and delivery of brain health
Order and administer tests including bloodwork
Utilize nutraceutical, pharmacological, neurophysiological, and behavioral approaches in the treatment of patients and families.
Management of patient case load: completing timely reports, maintaining charts, addressing patient concerns, and ensure the privacy and proper handling of patient information in accordance with State and Federal regulation.
Remain current with functional medicine, brain imaging, psychiatric, pharmaceutical and nutraceutical.
Assess potential causes and effects of toxic, metabolic, infectious, inflammatory, hormonal and other factors.
Ensure patient records are kept up to date including test results, immunizations, condition changes, etc.
