SAIC is seeking multiple, **Fully Remote, Game Development Engineers** to support the **U.S. Army Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) and Modeling and Simulation (M&S) development** contract to design, develop, and test code, fix bugs, profile, and optimize code while following best practices, development processes, and coding standards.

**JOB DESCRIPTION:**
+ Design, develop, and test code, fix bugs, profile, and optimize code while following best practices, development processes, and coding standards.
+ Develop and collaborate on technical designs with other software engineers, writing efficient code with descriptive comments.
+ Interact with team members, artists, and SMEs to develop training products for military and commercial clients using the Unity game engine.
+ Provide direction throughout the game/course design process, from prototype to completion and sustainment.
+ Take ownership of work as a motivated self-starter with a demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritize workload, and work effectively in a team environment.
**Qualifications**
**REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:**
+ Bachelor's and zero (0)+ years of related experience; additional four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.
+ Experience using Unity Game Engine, C#, and JavaScript.
+ Knowledge of Windows and the Visual Studio IDE.
+ Experience with 3D game development and design process.

+ Experience with version control software, such as GitLab (Perforce is a plus).
+ Understanding of 3D transformation hierarchies.
+ A portfolio with examples of games or eLearning programming is required (web-accessible samples are preferred).

Qualifications
What we'll want you to have:
- Bachelor's degree (BSCS, BSEE, or BSCE) from a four-year college or university (or higher degree). A master's degree in a related field is preferred.
- Minimum eight years' related experience on Unity, including experience with scripting, textures, animation and/or training/supervising of technical groups or six years with a master's degree. Gaming industry experience and C#, proficiency; SAS, SDS or other experience preferred. Experience in working with geographically distributed software teams.
- Intermediate and above-level understanding and usage of Microsoft Office products. Must be able to communicate professionally and efficiently (verbal and written) with all levels of the business. Must be able to obtain and retain gaming licensure. Leadership, problem-solving, special knowledge and skills, communication, teamwork, customer focus and developing others. Patents desirable.
- Full time / 40 + Hours per week. Must be flexible for overtime, including evenings, weekends and Holidays as required.
- Must be comfortable working in a cubicle with limited working space for long hours with the ability to remain seated at the computer terminal for extended periods. **Required Skills:**
Game Server Engineer - BigBox Responsibilities:
1. Create, maintain and deploy highly reliable web services within a highly dynamic and iterative team environment
2. Design, develop, test and maintain quality code and documentation
3. Work as a team, contributing to important design decisions and conversations
4. Develop prototypes and experiments, while researching and recommending novel ideas, new tools, and technologies
5. Setup and maintain monitoring, alerting, and instrumentation for key services
6. Test, support, and secure games as a service
7. Collaborate with artists and engineers to implement new developments, help build features, and solve problems
**Minimum Qualifications:**

8. 4+ years of professional software development experience
9. Experience running a live web service that can scale horizontally
10. Experience working and running web services
11. Demonstrated experience working in self-managed, outcome focused environments
12. Experience learning new programming languages, systems, and devices
13. Experience completing a ship cycle for a product
14. Bachelor in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
15. You have multiple years of experience running web services in production and have working knowledge of server-based multi-user game engineering design

17. Experience with PHP/Hack, Python, C# and the .NET runtime
18. Extensive background in Augmented Reality or Virtual Reality
19. Prior experience working in Meta Infrastructure
**Public Compensation:**
$147,000/year to $208,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
