Job Description

Game Design & Development Instructor @ Bay State Learning Center

Bay State Learning Center, a small nonprofit non-coercive self-directed learning center, is a different option for adolescents and teens to learn and grow. We have students from 10 to 18 years old. All of whom are excited to learn and dig deeper into subjects than public school allows them.

Bay State Learning Center (BSLC) is looking for a volunteer who can help a small group of interested teens with an introduction to game design and development, tapping into their love for creativity and technology. Help them understand the concepts, elements of game design, player design, and pro tools used for game design, starting from proof of concept to paper and digital prototyping to production level design and testing.

Classes are small or maybe one-on-one and do not require any grading or assessment. All the volunteer instructor would be asked beyond teaching is to note who attended and make a very short summary of what was discussed.

We are flexible and love to add diversity to our students education, so any type of time commitment you are open to could help. We would very much love a volunteer who could commit to teach at least 8 weeks or one semester, but even one-time workshops add enrichment to our program.

Transportation to Dedham is required, and you must be available between 10am and 2pm Monday-Thursday.

THANKS!
