Quality Control Technician - Food Manufacturing

We're seeking a detail-driven Quality Control Technician to join our team and help uphold the highest standards in food safety, regulatory compliance, and product quality. What You'll Do
+ Conduct pre-operational inspections and environmental swabbing (air, water, equipment surfaces) to ensure sanitary conditions.
+ Perform routine line checks for packaging, labeling, coding, sealing, and metal detection/X-ray systems.
+ Collect and test samples for microbial and chemical analysis to verify product safety and consistency.
+ Calibrate and maintain lab equipment including thermometers and moisture analyzers.
+ Review production data and operator check sheets for accuracy and compliance.
+ Monitor GMP compliance on the production floor and assist with staff training initiatives.
+ Investigate and document non-conformances, customer complaints, and CAPAs (Corrective and Preventive Actions).
+ Maintain detailed QA records and support internal/external audits.
+ Assist in shelf-life studies, product bake-offs, and texture analysis.
+ Contribute to continuous improvement and SOP development.
What You Bring
+ High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's in a science field is a plus).
+ Minimum 1 year of experience in food manufacturing or QA/QC.
+ Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, GFSI, and food safety regulations.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
+ Certifications such as HACCP, SQF, or PCQI are a strong advantage.
+ Chemistry or GMP preferred.
Work Environment
+ Exposure to typical food production conditions: cold, wet, noisy, and allergen-rich environments.
+ Physical activity required: standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, climbing, and more.
+ Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Job Description

Work Environment
The shift for this position is Saturday to Tuesday, 7:00 PM to 5:30 AM. You will work in a plant that produces radioactive materials, requiring participation in safety programs designed to minimize exposure levels. Responsibilities include the ability to lift 70 pounds and perform physical tasks such as walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, reaching, and climbing stairs with or without accommodation. You must be willing to wear a variety of personal protective equipment. The job offers a shift differential upon conversion, which can be up to $3,000 in annual compensation, and includes holiday pay. The schedule is 4 days of 10-hour shifts, offering a longer break during the week. This role provides the opportunity to learn various standard instrumentation or methods in a pharma QC Lab, including unique instrumentation specific to working with radioactive materials.
