This team member would work on a variety of projects within our Public Works , Water , Commercial , and other business units while utilizing innovative industry leading equipment.
Our Geospatial team serves public and private clients throughout the country and is comprised of folks in our Des Moines , Mankato , Storm Lake , Sioux Falls , Bloomington , and La Crosse offices. We are a full-service and multi-disciplinary firm, performing award-winning work in planning, design, survey, and construction.
As part of the Geospatial team, you may be responsible for:
- Collecting quality field survey data at an adequate speed (specific to each project and task)
- Preparing field drawings and high-quality notes of each project in accordance with ISG and survey standards
- Becoming familiar with all the provided survey hardware; Trimble, Leica, Topcon, etc
- Assembling all instruments and measuring devices needed to complete various types of survey work assignments
- Responsible for seeing that the proper equipment is loaded and charged for the next assignment
- Providing positive client/public relations as individuals are encountered in the field
- Being a team player and be accountable to other members of the team to complete assigned tasks and recognize performance of team members
- Process LiDAR sensor data into point clouds, adjusting to survey control, QA/QC reporting
- Extract mapping features from photogrammetry, mobile and terrestrial point clouds to create base map deliverables for design or other planning activity
ABOUT YOU
You may have formal education in surveying, civil engineering, or geographic information systems (GIS). You may not. What we need is someone with some fundamental experience, eagerness to learn and enjoys being outside.
This is primarily a field-work position. Travel to job sites will be required, therefore, a valid driver's license with a good driving record is necessary. Even while in the field, Geospatial Specialists have access to technology and experts.
We don't hire survey or construction staff with the intention to lay them off over winter, they are a crucial part of our team at ISG. That said, we are seeking someone who is very adaptable and willing to take on tasks that may be outside their comfort zone.
Additional qualifications include:
- Familiarity with survey hardware including Trimble, Leica, Topcon, etc
- A working knowledge of Robotic Total Stations, and GPS
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Strong communication, organization, analytical and interpersonal skills
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel out of town for projects
- Comfortable and enjoy working outside
- Experience in construction staking, performing ALTA, boundary and topographic surveys

+ The Level 2 Geospatial Tracking Specialist (GTS2) is an experienced Personnel Tracking and Locating (PTL) professional.
+ The GTS2 stands watch at the PTL desk in the Diplomatic Security Command Center (DSCC) or STOC employing a complex software and hardware system to track the movements of U.S. Diplomatic Missions worldwide.
+ Provides all but the highest-level technical support for the PTL software, hardware, crypto, and satellite communications gear at their station.
+ The GTS2 must provide support to GTS1s on duty worldwide when they experience technical difficulties.
+ Blends the information provided through the PTL system with their knowledge of the missions at hand and with other intelligence pertaining to the mission or region to have the best possible situational awareness during every shift.
+ Responsible for reporting emergency activations and other anomalies to the designated Government personnel, analyzing and disseminating intelligence information from various sources, and employing Geospatial tools to create information products supporting customer requests.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ The GTS2 must have moderate technical skills (Microsoft products, PC basics, hardware basics); operational, operational support, or emergency management experience; and professional bearing, appearance, and verbal communication skills.
+ Requires strong PTL software troubleshooting skills and operations support skills.
+ Must possess a mastery of PTL Tracking Devices (nomenclature, setup, troubleshooting); PTL tracking software; and PTL incident documentation.
+ This position requires:
+ attention to detail and ability to memorize and recite 6-character strings without fail;
+ an understanding of Department of State protective Operations;
+ a demonstrated understanding of satellite technology; and technology, cryptographic key loaders;

**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Experience with open-source intelligence products such as AIDE, ENDRUN are a plus.
+ Required to travel OCONUS for training, surge support, and to provide short-term backfill for overseas Geospatial Tracking Specialist positions.
+ OCONUS travel may include critical threat locations around the world with austere living conditions.
+ Domestic travel may be required for training and program coordination.

**Clearance Requirements:**

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Geospatial BIM Specialist to join our team. This unique role combines expertise in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) , Building Information Modeling (BIM) , Computer-Aided Design (CAD) , and web development. The ideal candidate will serve as a GIS and CAD specialist for a construction project and assist in developing GIS/BIM tools for our SmartInfra Hub product/web application.
Key Responsibilities:
- GIS & CAD Development & Management:
- Develop, maintain, and manage web maps using Mapbox and ArcGIS for our projects.
- Utilize CAD software to create, modify, and integrate designs with GIS/BIM data.
- Submit GIS and CAD files in required formats to meet client and government standards.
- Ensure accuracy and quality of both CAD and GIS deliverables in line with project goals.
- BIM Integration & Tools Development:
- Integrate CAD and GIS data with BIM systems to develop robust solutions for infrastructure and construction projects.

- Client Interaction & Deliverables:
- Work closely with government clients to submit accurate ArcGIS and CAD files for project compliance.
- Assist in preparing geospatial and CAD documentation and reports for clients, ensuring compliance with government standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Geospatial Science, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience with GIS platforms (ArcGIS, Mapbox) and CAD software (AutoCAD, MicroStation) in web development environments.
- Strong understanding of BIM principles and experience integrating GIS, CAD, and BIM data.
- Proficient in Mapbox and ArcGIS for web map development and AutoCAD for design work.
- Experience working with geospatial and CAD data formats, including shapefiles, GeoJSON, DWG, and DGN.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, Python , or other scripting languages for GIS and CAD integration.
