**This Opportunity**
WSP is seeking a **Geographic Information Systems** candidate with at least 1-3 years of experience to support our **Southwest Mountain Civil Ground Engineering Team** .
This position provides technical assistance and guidance for capturing, modeling, and analyzing geographical and tabular data to illustrate and determine spatial relationships as it pertains to client projects. Provides support and guidance for multi-site/phase projects by assisting with and overseeing spatial mapping, discovering patterns and trends, and developing mapping applications and tools at the intersection of data analysis, programming, and cartography. Substantiates documentation to advise on project areas by applying and integrating GIS data and perspective to solve environmental challenges across a variety of science and planning disciplines. Assists project leadership with environmental impact assessment, master planning, corrective/mitigation strategy development, permitting, and/or restoration activities. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards.
**Your Impact**
+ Lead and conduct GIS surveys and reports from field sites for project research and investigation.
+ Support quality control standards and procedures for accurate and precise measurements, documentation, and high-level analysis of incoming and existent data.
+ Model and prepare topographic maps, thematic maps, graphs, and tabular data using GPS, aerial photographs, and other tools and data to determine exact locations of project areas, site impact, and associated physical and geographic sensitivities.
+ Verify integrity, accuracy, and authenticity of geospatial data collected directly from the field, received from clients, and/or retrieved from public data sites. Prepare and assist with completing GIS segments pertaining to impact assessment and/or permitting activities for assigned projects (e.g. CEQA, NEPA, etc.).
+ Prepare data and visualizations such as maps, tables, charts, accurate reports, and illustrations for the interpretation or presentation of data, findings, or analyses.
+ Oversee compliance with guidelines and project-specific procedures which include but are not limited to, the maintenance of any data collection, database, documentation, logbooks, and the management of a digital library of geographic maps in various file types.
+ Provide informed input to planners, scientists, and engineers in the analysis, evaluation, and interpretation of spatial and geographic data obtained during field investigations, offering insight with moderate to high-level threat mitigation, master planning, and permitting activities.
+ Assist with overseeing and working with cross-functional teams in executing project work and coordinating with CADD and other technicians on project documents.
+ Maintain or modify existing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) databases and proficiency with geodatabase design.
+ Publish and manage ArcGIS Online GIS solutions, dashboards, and hosted feature services utilized for various project needs. Interact with regulatory agencies, communities, subcontractors, and clients in a confident and professional manner.
+ Remain current in latest GIS practices, methods, procedures, subject matter, and techniques.
+ Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

**Who You Are**
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Planning, or a related field.
+ Minimum 1-3 years of relevant post-education experience in discipline with prior GIS experience.
+ Significant experience with ESRI's ArcGIS platform.
+ Capable understanding of AutoCAD, Python, Visual Basic, Arcade, or SQL programming.
+ Strong analytical skills and prior demonstrated experience with research techniques, modeling data, scanning and digitizing files, and experience maintaining records and databases for assigned projects required.
+ Proficiency with GPS/GNSS field equipment, plotting coordinates, and data collection.
+ Experience coordinating with clients, regulatory permitting and resource agencies, communities, and technical staff required.

The GIS Specialists will be integral members of our interdisciplinary team of environmental and cultural resource specialists. Position description:
+ Serves as lead manager responsible for delivery of lab data processing services, including Geographic Information Systems (GIS) lab processing.
+ Performs analysis, development, implementation of processing approaches and quality checks for electronic files and related mapping, geospatial services pursuant to applicable ESI specifications.
+ Creates maps/reports and related deliverables based on customer request, including posting maps and related geospatial data to an internal GIS Portal.
+ Works closely with customer's information technology staff as necessary to ensure implementation, installation, testing and maintaining of GIS related systems and software.
+ Responsible for informing Government COR of all deadlines, technical challenges, resource availability, personnel assignments, priorities and progress reporting specifications.
+ Consults with attorneys and support staff on best practices for confirming GIS specifications
+ Participates in teleconferences with co-counsel, client agencies and opposing counsel upon attorney request.
+ Responsible for ensuring incoming mapping and geospatial request are made pursuant to applicable GIS specifications.
+ Provides case attorneys detail notice of deficiencies when found.
+ Conduct presentations, utilizes video clips and prepares GIS training material.
Required Qualifications:
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain MRPT facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for MRPT facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
+ Undergraduate degree required; preferably in computer science or related field.
+ Requires thorough knowledge of GIS concepts and a variety of mapping software/products: ESR's ARCGIS Pro, Network Analyst, ARCGIS Portal and ARCGIS Online.
+ Must have thorough knowledge of computer graphics and demographic data products: US Census Bureau Tiger data, Census PL94-171 data and American Community Survey/ACS data or demographic data from various sources.
+ Must have at least five years of management/supervisory experience
+ Minimum of five years' experience supporting GIS processing.
+ Requires broad knowledge of the Government's IT environments, including office automation networks, PC and server-based databases and applications.
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
+ Ability to lead a technical team, and provide direction, will be very important.
+ Demonstrated ability to analyze attorney needs.
Preferred:
+ Experience in a litigation support environment extremely helpful.

A voluntary 457 Deferred Compensation Plan is available for employee participation. The City will match up to 50.00 per pay period of a contribution to our 457 Deferred Compensation Plan.

The City offers an Alternative Work Schedule (9/80) and a hybrid work option (subject to the discretion of management).
