This role will be primarily focused on mid capitalization equity securities in the U.S., with some exposure to large-caps, in the Industrials sector. This Investment Team manages a portfolio of $ billion in U.S. assets consisting of mostly domestic properties. The team is comprised of five and based in our Kansas City, New York, and Santa Clara offices. The group focuses on two primary strategies - Heritage and MID ETF - designed as opportunistic growth funds that seek to build capital over time by investing primarily in growing midsize companies. This hybrid position can be based out of our Kansas City Headquarters, New York, or Santa Clara office. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. **JOB RESPONSIBILTIES:**
+ Perform malting and analytical testing on breeding trials from global breeding programs and industry evaluation trials, ensuring accurate and timely results.

Responsibilities

Core Duties
  • Manage benefits programsincluding but not limited to retirement, supplementary health insurance, disability, life, flexible spending, travel, wellness, and perksin partnership with University HR Benefits Team and global benefits brokers to effectively manage vendor relationships.
  • Participate in the design and development of a long-term strategy for global benefits initiatives to ensure competitive offerings. Conduct market research on benefits offerings, trends, best practices to benchmark programs, and engage in contact negotiations for setup and renewals. Monitor and assess the effectiveness of benefits programs and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Manage benefits enrollment for Global Staff and Stanford Global telecommuters, and respond to benefit-related questions. Prepare benefit plan communications with accuracy and clarity.
  • Partner with finance and payroll teams in the US and in each country to ensure proper benefits deductions or payments are made on a timely basis.
  • Partner with third-party administrators, vendors, and consultants to investigate discrepancies, claim issues, and provide information in non-routine situations.
  • Review and maintain contracts, review cost and performance, and ensure accurate and timely plan administration, claims payment, manage escalated issues, etc.
  • Manage monthly billings, enrollments, changes, census, volume, and take action to keep current, and prepare reports and interface with payroll, finance, and carriers.
  • Ensure seamless integration of benefits with HRIS, payroll, and other systems.
  • Support leave of absence and worker compensation administration cases, including general administration, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations in each country.
  • Promote and handle Wellness events and Stanford benefits initiatives, such as coordinating BeWell, Tuition Grant Program (TGP), and Staff Training Assistance Program (STAP).
  • Create and maintain global holiday schedules and annual vacation leave policies, ensuring both are communicated to the centers and staff, and posted on the Global HR website, within the HR Manager Toolkit and the Stanford Admin Guide.
Reporting, Finance, and Analysis
  • Receive financial reporting from external vendors and consultants for global benefits, and review for accuracy. Provides oversight and coordinates payment of benefit plan premiums directly to carriers and monitors cash flow activity to ensure correct accounts are debited and credited.
  • Coordinate information for Fringe budget management; coordinate data gathering for audits; oversight of benefit plan claims, funding, and premium payments. Assist in preparing financial information for the Fringe office for audits.
  • Compare administration practices with plan documents and coverage certificates, conduct annual reviews to ensure current and accurate benefit documentation, and analyze gaps to proactively propose solutions for enhancing global benefit programs.
  • Reviews initial and second-level appeals relating to global benefit plan eligibility and/or contributions and makes a determination based on the provisions set forth in the plan documentation and the circumstances of the participant. Determines the potential risks and benefits of plan compliance.
  • Create and provide quarterly benefits reports for the Global Compensation Analyst.
Minimum Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience.

Certified Benefit Professional (GBP) preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Comfortable working knowledge of accounting functions and the ability to evaluate benefit plan budgets.
  • Experience with evaluating benefit plan documentation and benefit communication strategies, including composition, review, and revision.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations (i.e., benefit issues, appeals, administrative issues), identify workable solutions/alternatives, and make appropriate determinations and/or recommendations resulting in minimal risk.
  • Ability to work effectively, prioritize, and be flexible in a high-paced, high-volume environment, and to complete job tasks in a timely manner.
  • Ability to quickly absorb and learn new concepts and new software programs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to interpret and communicate policies effectively.

About The Role The Global Payroll Analyst will be responsible for managing the end-to-end global payroll processes (APAC, EMEA regions), ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and regional tax and labor regulations compliance as well as processing US and Canadian payrolls - new hires and terminations, processing off-cycle checks and adjustments, auditing payroll for accuracy, and performing GL accounting tasks. How You Will Provide Meaningful Contributions

  • Collaborate with the global HR team to prepare, review and deliver the monthly international payrolls runs.

Reporting to the Global Human Resources Director, the Global Compensation Analyst will have a unique opportunity to support Stanford's global centers and staff who advance the university's mission of teaching, impact, and research worldwide. This position is co-located within Stanford's central HR organization, collaborating closely with benefits, compensation, and other employment functions.
This position requires deep subject matter expertise in global compensation, preferably across Europe, Asia, and Latin American markets. As part of a dynamic and dedicated team, the Global Compensation Analyst will work in partnership with the Global Human Resources Director and Stanford's Staff Compensation team to enhance compensation strategies, ensuring compliance with each country's unique regulations while fostering an inclusive compensation culture in line with university values and strategic goals . The role involves the development of thorough and competitive compensation programs using HR analytics to drive data-informed decision-making. Additionally, the Global Compensation Analyst will ensure adherence to Global HR policies while providing dedicated support to Stanford's Global centers and US staff working internationally, ultimately offering ample opportunities for contribution and professional growth.
This position is based in the US, can be fully remote, and requires flexibility to adapt work hours for EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa), APAC (Asia-Pacific), and LATAM (Latin America) regions, as well as to partner with Stanford's central HR organization in California.
CORE DUTIES:
+ Compensation
+ Serve as the Subject Matter Expert on global compensation regulations, ensuring adherence and compliance across all programs while providing guidance on job architecture, job evaluation, pay ranges, global compensation data, and supporting compensation review cycles , philosophy, and framework.
+ Lead the annual global salary survey in partnership with a global advisory firm and Stanford's staff compensation team to assess business-critical roles, establish market pricing benchmarks, and recommend incentive targets, supporting the development of the annual salary program and advising on individual employee pay decisions, applying relevant local laws and cultural expectations.
+ Review and maintain the Global Job Description Library by evaluating job descriptions for new hires and job design, applying job evaluation techniques to determine appropriate job classifications, exemption statuses, and ensuring consistent leveling across the global workforce.
+ Conduct compensation analysis across international markets, applying relevant local laws and cultural expectations. Research global compensation trends and communicate the compensation philosophy.
+ Maintain an up-to-date repository of global compensation resources by refreshing content, enhancing accessibility, and collaborating with teams for policy compliance, while conducting reviews and audits of compensation data to ensure accurate HR record maintenance.
+ Serve as a resource for compensation questions and partner with cross-functional teams.
+ Ensure compliance with compensation laws and respond to audits.
+ Payroll, Reporting, Finance, and Analytics
+ Participates in salary surveys on behalf of the university.
+ Partner with HRIS teams to ensure compensation data integrity in HR systems.
+ Oversee and animate the global payroll network, which operates autonomously across 12+ countries through local administrative and finance teams, as well as third-party providers. Understand payroll administration in each country while maintaining access to data to effectively manage and support the network.
+ Maintain comprehensive financial assessments of total compensation and fringe benefits per employee across various countries, ensuring accurate tracking and management of costs while aligning with Stanford compensation strategies.
+ Generate standard and specialized reports (Monthly staff report, Quarterly presentation, end of the year reporting, etc.) for HRD, managers, internal teams such as Global Business Services, Global Risk, and finance, utilizing HR expertise to provide analysis and recommendations.
+ Prepare statistical analyses, data models, and cost analyses to support financial objectives and strategic decision-making.
+ HR Administration and Management
+ Manage and organize employment offers, agreements of employment, job changes, transfers, annual salary increase letters, and termination packages.
+ Oversee the Professional Employer Organization (PEO) relationship by handling requests, hires, compensation, account maintenance, renewals, and terminations; in partnership with HRD, address inquiries from School/Units and provide guidance.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
+ Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience. Experience developing and implementing global compensation programs preferred.
+ Deep knowledge of global compensation laws and regulations.
+ Proven experience in a complex, global, multi-site business.
+ The Global Remuneration Professional (GRP®) certification, the Certified Compensation Professional (CCP®) certification, or any other form of compensation certification is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+ Expertise in global compensation, providing comprehensive support across diverse regions, countries while demonstrating deep knowledge of compensation principles and practices, including base pay, equity programs, and familiarity with international regulations, compliance, and cultural nuances.
+ Experience in managing and interpreting market survey data (e.g., Radford, CompAnalyst, IPAS, Mercer, WTW, or similar)
+ Advanced analytical skills; comfortable working with spreadsheets and large data sets (pivot tables, lookups, formulas, financial modeling); solid command of the Google and Microsoft Office Suite overall.
+ Proficient in designing, building, and maintaining a robust job architecture that aligns with organizational goals and workforce needs.
+ Skilled in navigating a matrixed environment, effectively collaborating with various HR and finance functions and cross-functional stakeholders to achieve shared objectives.
+ Clear communicator with exceptional written and verbal skills, adept at translating complex financial information for both financial and non-financial stakeholders while demonstrating strong consultative and relationship management expertise.
+ Strong problem-solving, organizational, and critical thinking skills, enabling the effective assessment of complex compensation issues.
+ Commitment to upholding confidentiality, ethics, and professional standards in all aspects of financial information management.
+ Strong project management capabilities, adept at managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
+ Experience supporting compensation in higher education and high-growth industries preferred
