About the Opportunity:
The Director, Global Sourcing position is responsible for setting and deploying the strategy for indirect material savings, value, and service level. Manage development and performance of new and existing suppliers in support of global spend while assisting in meeting on-time customer deliveries to achieve EBITDA, Cash, and Balance Sheet performance goals. This position involves working in a global cross-functional team environment, with a desire to transform the current approach to indirect sourcing and procurement across a distributed network of locations.
Location: Manchester, CT
Onsite 4 days a week Monday - Thursday, Fridays are remote, Travel between 10% - 20%.
Supervisory Responsibilities: May supervise employees.
Responsibilities:
- Creates regional and global commodity strategies
- Creates and implements the "best way is the only way" workflow to leverage indirect spend
- Key functional stakeholder in configuration and implementation of an Indirect Procurement Platform across global sites
- Achieve goals in a distributed network of businesses with expectation of developing seamless relationship with site-based individuals and leaders
- Maximize value of indirect spend across enterprise
- Negotiates sourced product and services Long Term Agreements (LTA)
- Facilitates, tracks and records cost reduction activities across multiple sites
- Performs cost evaluations
- Executes and oversees supplier transitions to qualified sources
- Supports leadership in negotiating, closing, and implementing contracts
- Creates regional and global commodity strategies
- Leads procurement training of employees within the supply chain organization
- Works closely with new and existing aerospace suppliers in support of spend, including acting as a liaison for global contract implementation
- Negotiates cost reduction with suppliers, analyzes quotes and generates Purchase Orders
- Manages supplier relationships, including dispute and problem resolution
- Maintains a system of metrics to continually monitor measurable supplier performance
- Identifies and implements continuous improvement opportunities within the supply chain
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Purchasing, Supply Chain or a related field
- 10 years of relevant Sourcing or Supply Chain experience
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
- Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced knowledge of global supply chain sourcing and the capabilities and capacities of the critical supply base in an aerospace manufacturing environment

- Support the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process by driving integration of S&OP with critical sourcing and NPI processes to ensure strategic alignment and drive operational excellence.

The role of the Coordinator, Global Sourcing is to support and execute New Era's global sourcing strategy and the entire product development process. Work closely with the design and merchandising teams to develop on trend product across multiple categories. Establish relationships with global suppliers and support the overall product development and production process while ensuring timely delivery of quality product that meets New Era's financial targets. The Global Sourcing Coordinator will work closely with peers in License Management, Product Development, Merchandising, Planning, Logistics and Quality teams to turn ideas into great merchandise.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate and develop relationships with internal customers (License Management, Product Development, Planning, Logistics, Customer Service, Social Compliance and Quality teams) to execute the product development process
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to negotiate favorable terms, resolve issues promptly, and ensure a reliable supply chain
- Able to understand and achieve key milestones in the product lifecycle timelines which is driven by the company product development and production calendars
- Able to interpret and understand specs/development BOMs (Bill of Materials) and is able to effectively communicate and collaborate with design and suppliers to ensure design expectation is maximized and cost is minimized
- Issue, monitor and execute protos and sales samples development requests. Ensure all samples are shipped and delivered on time as per the product development and production calendars
- Responsible for all proto samples packing, labeling, and storing properly in order to maintain a clean and effective working environment
- Enter and manage all development details (Raw Materials and Finished Product) including timelines and costing information in PLM (Product Lifecycle Management)
- Skilled in controlling costs and optimizing expenses to support margin targets
- Identify and communicate any excessive lead time or minimum order challenges during development
- Assist in the development of all new fabric and trims to support finished goods production
- Ensure all raw materials are developed, approved and forecasted prior to order placement
- Prepare and present the product line handoff meeting (Sourcing to Production Handoff); clearly communicate adopted styles and delivery requirements to the production teams

**The Impact You'll Make**
The **Global Sourcing Manager** is responsible for developing, implementing, and leading the sourcing strategies and procurement of Direct Materials Services at Danfoss. **What You'll Be Doing**
+ Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers to meet cost objectives, provide cost alternatives, and support Buy/Make decisions through detailed cost analysis modeling
+ Lead direct sourcing efforts for engineered casting parts, plastic parts, and machined components while proactively identifying new suppliers to enhance service, delivery, and overall value
+ Drive the development and execution of strategic sourcing initiatives for direct materials and services, leveraging Danfoss' consolidated spend, standardization, and best industry practices
+ Lead and manage cross-functional teams, guiding strategy alignment discussions and implementing sourcing processes and policies across multiple categories and locations
