Job Summary

The Solutions Architect 5 drives value-based solutions development, strategic sales initiatives, and revenue growth by collaborating with internal stakeholders such as account teams, product teams, and operations. This role is essential to ensuring seamless customer experiences.
The Public Sector Solutions Architect will work with State and Local Governments as well as Educational Customers (SLED) and have a working knowledge of the unique requirements associated with these entities. The candidate should also understand the complexities of working with E-Rate in this environment as well. The candidate will work to design and develop tailored solutions and support the successful implementation and ongoing service management of these solutions. This position requires a deep understanding of security, networking, and technology regarding the complexities in supporting the needs of SLED and E-Rate customers.
Role will be virtually based in either Eastern PA, Delaware, Maryland, Washington DC, or Northern VA with up to 25% travel.

SLED & E-Rate RFP Technical Solutions Development : Serve as the technical lead in developing compliant, innovative, and cost-effective network and technology solutions for State, Local, Education (SLED) and E-Rate RFP opportunities. Responsibilities include analyzing bid specifications and program requirements, designing architectures that meet or exceed stated objectives, and ensuring all proposed solutions align with E-Rate eligibility guidelines, SLED procurement rules, and organizational standards. Act as the subject matter expert to ensure proposed designs are technically sound, program-compliant, and competitively positioned for award.

Regulatory & Standards-Focused Solution Design for SLED & E-Rate: Maintain expert-level understanding of regulatory, privacy, and cybersecurity standards critical to State, Local, Education (SLED) and E-Rate initiatives-including FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standards), HIPAA, FERPA, and the NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) cybersecurity framework. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure solutions are both E-Rate eligible and aligned with procurement rules, privacy safeguards, and industry best practices.

The Complex Sales Engineer 5, Public Sector is responsible for developing solutions with Comcast Business' full suite of WAN and Managed Network Services focused on Fortune 1000 as well as state and local government clients. + Drive customer broadband aggregation solutions within Comcast presales process by clearly defining customer desired and minimum bandwidth requirements, customer preference for surveys, single vs. distributed billing, timelines and type of detailed proposal response.
