Policy and Government Relations (PGR) State and Local Government Relations - Lead Specialist (Central Region)
Deloitte's Policy and Government Relations (PGR) group is currently looking to add a Government Relations professional to the state team. This role will be primarily remote with some travel required.
The PGR Team
+ Protect Deloitte's business interests and expand growth opportunities through education and engagement at the federal and state levels
+ Establish Deloitte as a trusted thought leader by promoting the Firm's eminence with government stakeholders and policy influencers at the federal and state levels
+ Support internal and external clients by monitoring, analyzing, and providing insights into the political, legislative, and public policy landscapes
+ Identify and analyze policy trends to help inform business decisions, develop policy positions, and advance the Firm's business objectives and initiatives
Work You'll Do
+ Support and advance Deloitte's State Government Relations program with direction from the State Government Relations leadership team
+ Develop and maintain relationships with internal leaders from Deloitte's state government consulting business in the Midwestern region of the United States, providing general government relations support, including:
+ Monitoring and providing analysis of key state and local trending issues and legislation
+ Providing analysis on the impact of Federal legislation/executive action on state government
+ Representing Deloitte with state leadership associations
+ Supporting lobbyist management activities, including the interview and hiring processes
+ Providing political intelligence on gubernatorial and legislative elections
+ Prepare and deliver reports and presentations on state and local issues to Deloitte leadership
Qualifications
Required:
+ Bachelor's Degree
+ 5+ years of full time, professional experience working with state or local governments
+ Minimum of 2+ years of prior experience working on state or local government related policy issues
+ Ability to travel 20%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
+ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Preferred:
+ Prior experience working with states in the Midwest region of the United States in a legislative, policy, or governmental capacity (technology focus preferred)
+ Understanding of government procurement within professional services or consulting environment
+ Stakeholder and Project Management
+ Monitor, synthesize, translate, and summarize complex policy, legislative and political topics for use by senior leaders and executive level audiences
+ Deliver multiple, concurrent projects, collaborating alongside small, cross-functional and virtual teams
+ Data Analysis, Visualization, and Interpretation
+ Consolidate, analyze, and visualize information across multiple sources (incl. Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
+ Understand the impact of emerging executive and legislative policies, with the ability to translate policies into narratives that inform business and leadership decisions.
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $88,600 to $163,100

Deloitte is seeking dynamic and experienced GPS Benefits and Actuarial Sales Executive to join our team. This role is pivotal in driving the growth and expansion of our Benefits and Actuarial services within the Government and Public Services (GPS) industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, channel management, and a deep understanding of benefits and actuarial-related technologies and solutions. Experience with Health, Wellness, and Pension benefits administration programs is required.

Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy and Execution:
+ Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to drive benefits and actuarial services growth within the GPS sectors, with a focus on Health, Wellness, and Pension programs.
+ Identify and pursue new business opportunities to accelerate wins.
+ Collaborate with Deloitte's GPS sales and alliance leadership to align sales strategies with overall business objectives.
+ Engage in market-facing events and conferences to identify sales leads and opportunities.
Channel Management:
+ Build and maintain strong relationships with key leaders and partners to drive joint sales efforts across our benefit-related offerings.
+ Manage and optimize channel performance, ensuring alignment with Deloitte's sales goals.
+ Develop and execute go-to-market plans with key leaders and partners focused on all Deloitte Health, Wellness, and Pension program offerings.
Collaboration and Leadership:
+ Work closely with Deloitte's product and delivery teams, to ensure successful adoption of solutions for #DeloitteNDO benefits programs and net-new business.
+ Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging benefits technologies and solutions to maintain a competitive edge.
+ Serve as internal benefits and actuarial alliance ambassador to drive awareness and engagement with Deloitte client delivery and account teams, particularly in the Health, Wellness, and Pension domains.
Client Advisory and Relationship Management:
+ Advise clients on benefits strategy, plan design, and administration best practices.
+ Facilitate client workshops, solution demonstrations, and stakeholder engagement to ensure successful benefits administration program outcomes.
+ Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions.
Regulatory and Compliance Knowledge:
+ Stay current on federal, state, and local regulations related to health, wellness, and pension benefits.
+ Advise clients on compliance requirements and risk mitigation strategies.
Benefits Technology Expertise:
+ Experience advising clients on benefits technology solutions.
+ Advise clients on technology-enabled approaches to optimize benefits modernization efforts.
Sales Reporting and Analysis:
+ Track and report on sales performance, providing regular updates to senior management within the sales organization.
+ Analyze pipelines to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement in benefits modernization.
+ Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline, ensuring accurate forecasting and planning.
The successful candidate will possess:
+ Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
+ Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
+ Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
QualificationsRequired
+ Minimum of 10+ years of experience in sales, with a focus on benefits and actuarial related technology solutions and services.
+ Health, Wellness, and Pension benefits knowledge is required.
+ Experience advising clients on benefits strategy, plan design, and administration best practices.
+ Knowledge of regulatory requirements impacting benefits administration (e.g., ERISA, ACA, HIPAA).
+ Experience implementing and integrating benefits technology solutions.
+ Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
+ Experience managing a portfolio of opportunities in Salesforce or other CRM platforms.
+ Ability to travel up to 70%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
+ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Preferred
+ Bachelor's degree in business, actuarial, human resources, information technology, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
+ Strong understanding of Health, Wellness, and Pension programs with relevant certifications preferred.
