Responsibilities:
- Participate in the conceptual development and brainstorming for new exhibit projects.

- Stay updated on trends in exhibit design, technology, and visitor engagement.
- Develop technical drawings for interactive elements and structural components.
- Specify lighting, audio-visual, and other technical requirements for exhibits.
- Troubleshoot design or fabrication issues that arise.
- Maintain project documentation and design files.
- Contribute to proposal development for new projects.
- Ensure designs meet safety codes and accessibility standards.
- Coordinate with external consultants and contractors.
- Utilize design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Rhino, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Develop innovative and visually appealing exhibit elements.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Exhibit Design, Industrial Design, Architecture, or a related design field.
- 2-4 years of experience in exhibit design or a related spatial design field.
- Proven ability to conceptualize and visualize design ideas.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and 2D drafting software (e.g., Rhino, SketchUp, AutoCAD).
- Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
- Understanding of fabrication methods and materials for exhibits.
- Experience creating technical drawings for construction.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Portfolio showcasing relevant design work.

Job Description
The Multi-Media Graphic Design Animation Assistant will also perform project management activities approximately 15-20 percent of their work week. These activities include attending project meetings, updating status information, assisting with schedules, and issue resolution. The Multi-Media Graphic Design Animation Assistant is required to gain a broader understanding of content/test development and publishing activities. They are required to know where to access critical project related information and details so that proper prioritization of project needs can be assessed. Strong communication, both written and verbal is essential to this position to effectively update project team members during the item/art development cycle.
This position generally is tasked with a wide variety of artwork types and levels of difficulty. Including, but not limited to; simple art (graphs, charts, scatter plots, basic line art) to more complex rendering of three dimensional images (scenes, storyboards, realistic and proportional figure and animal rendering, geological scenes, etc.). New employee learning curve is 12-18 months.
The Multi-Media Graphic Design Animation Assistant may be asked to assist in other areas of test development and publishing during non-peak periods based on qualifications.
Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York State, New York City, Vermont, Washington State, and Washington DC laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:
The minimum full-time salary range is between $23.00 - $26.00 per hour.

**REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE**
_Formal education or equivalent experience_ (note: this is the minimum requirement. Equivalent experience in lieu of a formal degree should be listed or demonstrated in portfolio.)
BFA from an accredited four-year college specializing in illustration, graphic design/fine art, digital web design or graduate of an art school or equivalent design work experience preferred.
Experience in education, large-scale educational assessment, and especially item development related artwork, is a plus.
**Skills/knowledge/abilities** -
Must have solid experience and familiarity with Macbook and Adobe CS Suites including Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, After Effects and Photoshop.
Ability to create illustrations using traditional techniques in Adobe Ilustrator.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work cohesively with a variety of people and personalities.
Must have strong, results oriented, professional verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work concurrently on multiple projects with challenging deadlines.
Some project management experience, including the scheduling and management of multiple projects is required to coordinate and track item and art development activities.
Must be able to manage the acquisition of art, graphics, and other stimuli from numerous sources.
Must be proficient in working in an electronic workflow and production environment.
Ability to easily adapt to unforeseen and unexpected requests or changes in priorities.
Experience in computer based animation and technology is a plus.
Understanding of web publishing with HTML and XML is a plus.
**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
Render two and three dimensional vector images such as people, scenery, animals, buildings, and situational artwork for paper and online deployment using Adobe Illustrator.
Create matching the requested description/concept in compliance with project specific style and technical requirements.
Apply simple to complex edits to artwork following written instructions.
Artwork must be delivered on time and meet quality standards as defined within the department.
Perform as lead or backup for assigned projects, providing oversight, support, metrics, evaluation of quality, etc, providing updates to team members as needed.
Maintain all tracking and project metrics per business or customer requirements; develop process documentation or assist in the development of documentation, as required.
Maintain a detailed understanding of multiple item development (proprietary) systems and project specific workflows and electronic folder structures.
Maintain a high level of communication with artist colleagues and project members across numerous teams through e-mail, teleconferences, 1:1 meetings, project meetings and other forms of communication.
Understand escalation process and keep the department manager informed on daily project status or issues.
Work independently, quality check all work to ensure highest possible quality output, and be open and receptive to actionable feedback when provided.

+ Oversee the technical process of loading, converting, troubleshooting, and optimizing artwork for print production to ensure high-quality output, as the Graphic Designer
+ Execute complete pre- and post-press production for graphic design materials, including signage and marketing collateral, from initial concept to final delivery
+ Integrate and edit images into advertising and marketing materials, ensuring accuracy, color fidelity, and quality in the final proofs
+ Address and resolve file preparation issues, focusing on font replication, color management, and the quality of bitmap images for optimal results
+ Ensure compliance with regulations and company standards throughout the graphics production process, from scanning to output and proofing
+ Manage production workflows, including customer service requests, job tracking, and documentation, all while adhering to tight deadlines
+ Other duties as assigned
Required Education and Experience:
+ Bachelor's Degree and 0 to 1 plus years of related experience or High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED) and 4 plus years of specific experience
+ Familiarity with large format digital printing and proficiency in MS Office Suite and graphics software (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat) is preferred, with knowledge of ONYX Poster Shop
+ Proficient with PCs and MACs, file hierarchy, naming conventions, file types/formats and conversion factors (raster to vector; bitmap to GIF, TIF, PNG, etc.)
