Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of cost estimates for large-scale capital construction projects, ensuring precision, timeliness, and alignment with project objectives.

  • Partner with engineering, architects, construction trades, and OEMs to ensure comprehensive, constructible, and cost-effective estimates.
  • Apply a range of estimating techniques (bottom-up, analogous, factored, parametric, and historical data) to deliver reliable results when full project details are unavailable.
  • Leverage industry-standard databases and indices (e.g., RS Means, ENR, BLS) as well as construction estimating software to support forecasting and pricing.
  • Collaborate closely with project controls to monitor cost forecasts, provide accurate reporting, and ensure budget alignment.
  • Drive innovation and process improvements to enhance estimating efficiency and organizational capability.
  • Balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, providing leadership and solutions even when information is limited.
  • Develop both short- and long-term strategies to build organizational competency in capital expenditure estimating.


Qualifications

Required

  • 10+ years of experience estimating capital construction projects, including design-build and engineering-led construction.
  • Strong background in industrial manufacturing projects across multiple disciplines, including millwright, piping/HVAC, plumbing, and electrical distribution (high and low voltage).
  • Demonstrated success in building and leading teams, with proven ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of an organization.
  • Proficiency with construction cost estimating tools and the agility to quickly adapt to client systems and processes.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% for business and project requirements.


Preferred

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in food, beverage, or consumer products industries.
  • Knowledge of project forecasting, tracking, and project controls integration.

+ Provides Environmental Oversight and compliance/inspections associated with Transmission Capital Projects and the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP).
+ Ensure compliance with laws and regulations for wetland access, protected species, wood and debris disposal, site control and soil disturbance.
+ Ensure that all field operations are in compliance with permits, including road use permits, natural resource protection act permits, Corp of Engineers permits, etc.

_Field Operations_
+ Performs all required erosion and sediment, stormwater management and pollution prevention inspections for applicable construction projects.

_Crew Oversight_
+ Responsible for attending pre-construction meetings, constructability meetings, and status meetings as directed.
