ABOUT THE POSITIONThe Program Associate (PA) provides administrative and program-related support to the Foundations Climate & Clean Energy (CCE) team. The goal of the Foundations CCE program is to protect people and the planet from the worst impacts of climate change by cutting pollution and accelerating the transition to a clean energy future. We aim to help make energy clean, affordable, safe, and reliable for all.
In 2021, the CCE team made 61 grants totaling approximately $25M through the Foundation and 17 grants totaling $0.4M through the Heising-Simons Action Fund. It is anticipated that the volume and amount will increase from 2021 to 2022. In 2022, the CCE team will be staffed by two PAs, two Program Officers (PO), and the Program Director (PD). This role will work in partnership with current and outgoing PAs to support the teams PD and POs. Although the majority of this role will work with the CCE Team, the PA will also support POs in other program areas as needed.
The anticipated start date for this position is on or around March 1. This full-time (37.5 hours per week), non-exempt (hourly) position reports to the PD of the CCE team. It can be located in either our Los Altos or San Francisco office. In 2022, the Foundation will pilot a hybrid work environment, allowing remote work and/or work from our offices. Staff will be required to be on-site for a minimum of 10 days per quarter and as needed. This scenario will be re-evaluated in 2023.

The Department of Earth System Science's (ESS) goal is to understand, predict, and respond to human-caused and natural environmental change at local to global scales. ESS includes a large and growing graduate student and postdoc community.
Earth System Science is seeking a full-time researcher to help with a variety of projects supporting research investigations related to fire ecology and biogeochemistry in the Pellegrini lab Environmental Science Lab Manager will work closely with the PI and members of the research group. The core goal is to coordinate and support the establishment of the Pellegrini lab at Stanford. This will involve developing analytical pipelines in the lab as well as coordinating permits, acquiring equipment and organizing the lab as well as support analytical work.
This position will involve a combination of field and laboratory measurements, operation of analytical equipment, methods development, and general project support. In addition, the candidate should be able to work independently and to analyze problems and create solutions to them. The Energy Manager (Renewable Energy) will support the continued development and execution of Facebook's global energy strategy centered on a supply portfolio of cost competitive clean and renewable energy sources consistent with the company's overall strategic objectives.
