Job Description
Responsible for developing, interpreting and implementing financial concepts for financial planning, analysis and control. Performs technical analysis to determine present and future financial performance. Gathers, analyzes, prepares and summarizes recommendations for financial plans, investment activity, customer deals, trended future requirements and operating forecasts. Develops, implements and monitors financial performance metrics, existing and new store performance and profit and sales drivers. Ensures development and distribution of reports / recommendations relating to financial and performance planning, investment options and related decision tools.
Key job responsibilities
- Supports the financial planning process, financial analysis, and development of key business insights for functional areas of sales, gross margin, labor or consolidated performance.
- Works with regional and global business partners to implement tactics related to regional and company strategy.
- Leads a cross-regional quarterly targeting and forecasting process focused on transparency, accuracy, and financial improvement.
- Partners cross-functionally to understand underlying retail business drivers and utilizes this knowledge to partner in the development of forecasting models consistent with company goals.
- Leads weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reviews and opportunity identification from stores spanning 3-4 regions.
- Shares performance review insights with the Financial Business Analysis Team and regional leadership for further short-term action plan development.
- Performs pro forma and ROIC modeling for operational capital investment decisions.
- Supports capital development strategies in partnership with regional leadership and store development teams.
- May provide advice and guidance to less experienced Team Members.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree

- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Amazon is looking for a strategic PR Manager to join our Worldwide Grocery Stores (WWGS) PR team, focusing on issues management and protecting customer trust in Amazon's grocery offerings. The team is seeking a high-judgment, seasoned public relations professional who will own the daily management of reactive and strategic communications plans for a diverse and challenging range of customer trust and reputation topics including - but not limited to - food safety, employee and customer experience, store issues, supply chain challenges, etc.
In this role, you will work effectively in global organization, quickly building effective cross-functional working relationships across teams and executive stakeholders, managing media, and advising and driving alignment on high-stakes matters. You must be an excellent writer, have a proven background successfully managing business-critical issues internally and externally, and exercise high judgment with a bias for action. As part of the role, you will also provide counsel to key business leaders on business and policy decisions, manage reactive issues and news cycles, as well as develop and execute communications strategies to build customer trust.
Key job responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day reactive media inquiries, working directly with reporters and deep-diving with colleagues, demonstrating high judgement and professionalism
- Build and maintain relationships with key media outlets/reporters to discuss and manage stories, correct inaccuracies, and establish a connection point for future story development
- Develop forward-looking scenario plans for emerging issues
- Formulate a clear point of view on complicated issues, and create a concise and well-written narrative to express it
- Manage diverse stakeholders including executives, store teams, suppliers, and community partners, with a strong ability to drive consensus and manage feedback quickly
- Work closely with public policy and legal teams on issues relevant to regulators and policymakers
- Collaborate with PR colleagues globally
- Help manage external support agencies, as necessary
Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Issues management experience
- Media relations experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Grocery and/or retail PR experience, including experience with issues management
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to drive progress and earn trust while working across multiple stakeholders and teams
- High judgement and ability to remain calm and strategic during high-pressure situations
