Job Overview: The Aircraft Maintenance Manager manages assigned aircraft maintenance lines using production schedules, labor analysis, and budgetary information. Utilizes resources to manage entire projects for the maintenance, preventative maintenance, or alteration of aircraft. Responsibilities:

  • Ensures direction of maintenance programs is consistent with COMPANY goals and targets.
  • Directly responsible for oversight of Aircraft Maintenance program.
  • Coordinates with Quality Control to assure, within COMPANY repair station limitations, that aircraft maintenance is performed and carried out in accordance with approved Federal Aviation, Manufactures, Customers and COMPANY procedures and requirements.

Evaluates requirements for additional resources submitted by subordinate supervisors and balances organization needs with overall mission requirements and resources.

2. Collaborates with the Group Commander and other base organizations to plan, develop and implement numerous long term plans to include: the Wing/Group Strategic Plan (mission, goals, values, objectives, etc.), Commander's Inspection Program, the Base Master Plan (facilities), Communications/Computer Plan (infrastructure capabilities/upgrade), the Vehicle Replacement Plan, the Deployment Cycle Plan, Aircraft Modification Plan, Depot Input Plan, force management and recruiting/retention plans, weapon system conversions, and base supplements. Develop operational

plans and conduct operational planning to provide for an adaptable, agile force able to respond to dynamic contingency and non-contingency worldwide events based on the assigned aircraft and mission sets. Collaborates with the Group Commander and the HRO on major organization changes

and changes based on manpower documents. Serves as a key team member in the strategic planning process at the state and national level.

3. Coordinates with appropriate groups in the wing to ensure an integrated approach to the solution of problems relating to availability of aircraft and the ability to conduct the military mission. Assesses the impact of the flying schedule and schedule changes program to ensure that aircraft requirements and configurations can be met. Plans, implements, and coordinates multiple complex and often competing mission requirements and commitments involving Expeditionary Combat Support (ECS) and aviation packages which may require the activation and deployment of an adaptable, agile force able to respond to dynamic worldwide events. Ensures the unit retains the capability for the simultaneous execution of home station maintenance and training. Confers with applicable base support functions to ensure that squadron needs and requirements are being satisfied. Balances risk to ensure appropriate allocation and prioritization of resources required to meet mission requirements. Identifies aircraft failure trends to part level, develops, and issues unit one-time inspection guidance when warranted. Chairs meetings to coordinate and schedule work to be accomplished by various technicians from a variety of trades that must work as a team to accomplish tasks and goals.

4. Maintains surveillance and ensures effective operation of the maintenance program. Makes periodic and comprehensive assessment of program through a review of performance indicators, productivity goals and accomplishments, deficiency reports, audit findings, etc. Identifies existing or potential productivity problems and discusses with subordinate supervisors. Ensures that corrective actions or improvement plans are implemented to resolve problems. Validates maintenance program methods, procedures and policies to ensure that the subordinate supervisors have the flexibility needed to meet the program goals and objectives. Evaluates, through a trends analysis program, the activities of the aircraft maintenance programs to ensure resolution and prevent reoccurrence of problems, and that self-inspection requirements are in accordance with established policies and prescribed directives.

Essential Functions

* Develops and executes strategies for maintaining Auburn University (AU) flight training aircraft and equipment (owned and leased) and external customer aircraft. Through subordinate staff, identifies and implements continuous improvement initiatives to ensure operational effectiveness. Leads the development, communication, and implementation of efficient operational procedures, policies, and effective growth strategies for the department.
* Provides leadership and operational support to a team of Aviation Maintenance Technicians, ensuring the department is sufficiently staffed, organized, trained, and fulfilling its responsibilities. Ensures staffing levels are optimized for all planned and anticipated activities occurring throughout the day, as well as after hours and on nights and weekends, as required. Full supervisory responsibility of others.
* Oversees all inspections, repairs, and component changes and ensures the accompanying documentation are accomplished in accordance with the manufacturer or FAA approved procedures, conforming to quality control standards, on schedule, and in compliance with FAA regulations. Plans and prepares maintenance and repair estimates, determines scope of work, schedules, and assigns qualified personnel based on skill levels.
* Ensures maintenance methods, procedures, and documentation are in compliance, through subordinate staff, with applicable Federal Aviation Administration approved procedures or accepted industry best practices, as applicable. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state and university regulatory requirements including, but not limited to, work standards, quality, safety, health, environmental, and personnel management.
* Develop and oversee the maintenance department's budget. Assess and purchase equipment, software, and tools needed for maintenance tasks. Negotiate with vendors and manufacturers for parts, services, and aircraft acquisitions.
* Establish and enforce safety standards and quality control procedures. Conduct internal audits and participate in FAA inspections and audits. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety and efficiency.
* Responsible for the aircraft, tooling, equipment, materials, inventory, and activities within the hangar(s) and on the adjacent ramp(s) for all department personnel. Evaluates new equipment, software, tooling, or other technologies to enhance the quality of the maintenance program.
* Maintains all necessary records and logbooks, including certification in the aircraft permanent maintenance records that the aircraft is approved and returned to service.
* Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship between the aircraft maintenance operation and customers, vendors, service providers, and federal, state, and university regulatory agencies.

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Controller reports to the Supervisor of Maintenance Control, and is responsible for coordinating the correction of mechanical irregularities that may develop during flight operations and monitors the status of out-of-service aircraft.

2.8.14.2 Specific
  • Issues control numbers for all reported aircraft discrepancies.
  • Authorizes MEL/CDL/NEF deferrals in accordance with the procedures Outlined in the GPM.
  • Maintains current deferred discrepancy information to ensure timely repair of these discrepancies.
  • Notifies Dispatch of all MELICDL/NEF items that may impact flight operations.
  • Notifies appropriate maintenance management of any incident or accident involving our client's equipment or personnel.
  • Supervises and provides technical guidance to line. on-call and/or Contracted maintenance personnel as required.
  • Communicates the status of out-of-service and spare aircraft, Ferry Flights, mechanical delays and cancellations (via text paging, conference calls, emails, etc.) to all concerned departments as situations occur.
  • Notifies the Quality Assurance Department when the need to authorize additional Rll personnel is identified at any location, including other air carriers.
  • Coordinates the routing of appropriate parts, equipment and personnel to out-of-service aircraft as required.
  • Ensures Ferry Flights and Functional or Operational Check Flights are conducted in accordance with the procedures outlined in the GPM.
  • Ensures On-the-Job Training (OJT) is conducted and documented.
  • Performs additional tasks as specified in the CASS/Reliability Section Of the Mesa Airlines, Inc. Genera/ Procedures Manual (GPM).
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Maintenance Control.

2.8.14.3 Qualifications
  • Holds a Mechanic's Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings
  • Three years of experience on CRJ 700/900, ERJ 175, B737 preferred (or) Three years of part 121 Maintenance Controller experience. (or) Three years of experience on regional and commercial aircraft

Overview: TechWise is seeking an experienced aircraft mechanic to oversee aircraft maintenance curriculum development, perform classroom instruction and support campus staff training and mentoring functions. Courseware will be directed toward military aircraft both fixed and rotary-wing. Establishment of advanced training, to include Maintenance/Repair/Overhaul (MRO) levels of instruction will be developed, revised and/or updated.

Position Overview: Responsible for curriculum development, instruction and senior level advice provided to an international MRO facility. The position will perform the development of course syllabus, curriculum, training aids, testing and the delivery of first class training to our customers. They will deliver cost-effective, high quality, state-of-the-art instruction materials. Responsible for the implementation of company policies and procedures and setting business goals to support performance management and development of the training support team.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Maintain professional communications with the training institution team, campus departments, support staff and TechWise senior leadership
  • Perform aircraft maintenance development activities, to include new curriculum development, revisions, and modifications
  • Perform as an instructor in airframe, power plant, avionics, and other courses
  • Seek to maintain a high-level of standardization and ensure full compliance with customer and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure the timely and accurate completion of student and instructor training records, certifications and other required reports
  • Provide mentoring of instructors and students as appropriate
  • Conduct welcome briefings prior to training sessions, as well as debriefings and critiques at the end of each course of instruction
  • Document and ensure the customer is aware of student performance
Skills & Requirements

Required Skills, Education, Experience & Abilities:
  • Excellent communication skills and a calm demeanor when working under pressure
  • Twenty or more years' experience working as an aircraft mechanic
  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited institution
  • 10 years' experience as an instructor
  • 5 years' experience in depot level repair
  • Senior level experience in one or more - airframe, power plant, avionics
  • Experienced aircraft maintenance course developer
  • 5 years management or leadership experience in a training environment
Desired Skills, Education, Experience & Abilities:
  • Experience living abroad and working in different cultures
  • 15 years military aircraft mechanic, experienced in either fighters/bombers/cargo/trainers, fixed or rotary wing
  • Undergraduate degree in a technical field
  • FAA or EASA certification
  • Aircraft maintenance experience in commercial industry
  • Experience working as an engineer in the aviation industry, airline or MRO facility
  • Active Security Clearance
Physical Demands:
  • Requires sitting and standing for long periods of time and may lift up to 50 lbs

**POSITION PURPOSE**
Performs preventive maintenance, repair, modifications and other maintenance of aircraft, components and related equipment in accordance with standards and regulations.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES**

+ Performs preventive maintenance, repair, modifications and other maintenance of aircraft, components and related equipment and complies with 14 CFR, manufactures specifications, the GMM, Company policy and procedures as well as other methods accepted by the FAA and OSHA when accomplishing maintenance.
+ Performs maintenance mechanic duties in all areas inside and outside the hangar as well as at the airport terminal.
+ Troubleshoots all aircraft systems. Executes maintenance work orders.
+ Uses tools, equipment and test apparatus necessary to assure completion of the work in accordance with accepted industry practices. Verifies that all calibrated tooling is current on its calibration before use. Verifies materials and parts used are of a serviceable condition.
+ Verifies that each part or component is effective for the aircraft on which it will be installed.
+ Adheres to material handling and control procedures specified in GMM and by the equipment manufacturers. Initiates material requests.
+ Evaluates the area and equipment that will be utilized to ensure that safety is not compromised before performing any maintenance action. Applies safety first at all times.
+ Maintains a clean, safe working environment throughout the work shift.
+ Updates Supervisor on progress of work performed. Reviews paperwork at the end of shift to ensure that all work accomplished is signed for prior to departing the maintenance facility. Assists with completion of shift turnover reports in accordance with procedures in the GMM.
+ Completes all department internal company forms, maintenance records, documents, work orders, etc. including performing maintenance computer system transactions as required (MEL, DMI).
+ Provides coaching and on-the-job training as directed.
+ Adheres to established work schedule. Participates in shift meetings and briefings as required.
+ Submits in writing any suggested changes in operational procedures that will enhance safety and cost effective aircraft maintenance.
+ Accesses Company Intranet to become familiar with and utilize the GMM and aircraft manuals. Ensures part effectivity is correct per aircraft.
+ Adheres to recurrent training, including required FAA AMT training, and keeps necessary licenses and certification up-to-date.
+ Reads and acknowledges understanding of maintenance newsletters and Company Emails on a timely basis.
+ Performs other duties as assigned or required.
