**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**

**Job Qualifications:**
+ Typically requires education or formal training equivalent to the completion of a two-year trade school or certification program in a related discipline and one or more years of experience as a GSE mechanic. Equivalent work experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
+ Must demonstrate a general understanding of GSE equipment, including aviation fueling equipment, fuel quality practices and concepts as well as general knowledge of hand tools and troubleshooting equipment, and ability to read moderately complex specifications, blueprints, drawings, schematics, and manuals.

Weyerhaeuser's Western Timberlands Division has an opening for a full-time truck driver/equipment operator, with duties performed in an aircraft hangar as well as a forest environment. In addition to supporting equipment maintenance, you will have responsibilities related to helicopter projects during all seasons of the year.
Weyerhaeuser Company owns and operates two Bell Helicopters (212HP and 206L-4), based in Eugene, Oregon and Chehalis, Washington. Weyerhaeuser Aviation has taken an active role in company flight operations since 1947. Our Helicopters support company timberlands/forestry operations in Oregon and Washington under FAR Part 91, 133 and 137, focusing primarily on stewardship of timberlands through fire suppression, fertilization, spraying and forestry recon. Our Helicopter operation is supported by company personnel, including pilots, aircraft mechanics and aviation ground support technicians.
Although most projects are within the local area, applicants must be willing to do occasional overnight travel while working on flight operations away from the main base. Some projects do require weekend work. Between projects, helicopters and equipment are maintained at the company hangar at Mahlon Sweet Airport in Eugene, Oregon, and Chehalis, Washington.

**Position Summary**

**Compensation Data**

**Main Responsibilities**

Communicate with the appropriate departments and/or provide services the customer requires for aircraft cleaning, accurate arrival and departure times, fuel, maintenance, avionics, hangar, and any other service requirements.
+ Transfer packages and other baggage to/ from aircraft to/ from vans, cargo trucks etc. Ensure all baggage is identified by traveler, stays with the passenger, and all bags get aboard the aircraft or to lobby and onto passenger transportation.
+ Operate courtesy van/bus to transport passengers, crew, baggage and/or cargo. Ensure vehicles are detailed as needed/scheduled.
+ Respond to requests for coffee, ice, newspapers, and catering to aircraft. Provide back up for deliveries and catering check in when needed.

+ Keep flight kitchen clean and maintain records for freezers, ice machine and other equipment.

Amentum is currently searching for a Ground Support Equipment Mechanic to work in our El Centro, California location (NAF El Centro).
**Job Summary:**
The Ground Support Equipment Mechanic diagnoses malfunctions and repairs Ground Support Equipment (GSE), advises and trains lower grade workers on diagnosis and repair of less complex repair/maintenance problems, inspects and approves completed maintenance actions, solves repair problems by studying drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics, and technical publications; uses automated maintenance data systems to monitor maintenance trends, analyze equipment requirements, maintain equipment records, and document maintenance actions, and analyzes, diagnosis, and repairs GSE using conventional and digital multi-meters, voltmeters, ohmmeters, frequency counters, oscilloscopes, circuit card testers, transistor testers, and hand tools.
This mechanic maintains external fuel and grounding systems, performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on GSE, inspects, tests, and operates GSE to determine equipment serviceability and proper operation, services equipment with fuel, oil, water, coolant, hydraulic fluid, refrigerant, and compressed air, diagnoses mechanical and electronic circuitry malfunctions using visual and auditory senses, test equipment, and technical publications. This work also does the following: disassembles and assembles malfunctioning GSE accessories and components, removes, disassembles repairs, cleans, treats for corrosion, assembles, and reinstalls GSE components and accessories, stencils and marks GSE in accordance with technical publications, stores, handles, labels, uses, and disposes of materials and waste in accordance with all state, local, and federal environmental standards and regulations. This mechanic prepares GSE for storage and mobility deployment; and operates, cleans, inspects, and services GSE towing vehicles. In addition to maintaining vehicle records, this mechanic maintains and updates paper and electronic equipment records, provides dispatch service for GSE, including positioning equipment to support aircraft maintenance and flying operations, practices good housekeeping, tool control, Foreign Object Damage prevention, and safety at all times.

Amentum is currently searching for an Ground Support Equipment Mechanic to work in our El Centro, California location (NAF El Centro).
**Job Summary:**
The Ground Support Equipment Mechanic diagnoses malfunctions and repairs Ground Support Equipment (GSE), advises and trains lower grade workers on diagnosis and repair of less complex repair/maintenance problems, inspects and approves completed maintenance actions, solves repair problems by studying drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics, and technical publications; uses automated maintenance data systems to monitor maintenance trends, analyze equipment requirements, maintain equipment records, and document maintenance actions, and analyzes, diagnosis, and repairs GSE using conventional and digital multi-meters, voltmeters, ohmmeters, frequency counters, oscilloscopes, circuit card testers, transistor testers, and hand tools.
This mechanic maintains external fuel and grounding systems, performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on GSE, inspects, tests, and operates GSE to determine equipment serviceability and proper operation, services equipment with fuel, oil, water, coolant, hydraulic fluid, refrigerant, and compressed air, diagnoses mechanical and electronic circuitry malfunctions using visual and auditory senses, test equipment, and technical publications. This work also does the following: disassembles and assembles malfunctioning GSE accessories and components, removes, disassembles repairs, cleans, treats for corrosion, assembles, and reinstalls GSE components and accessories, stencils and marks GSE in accordance with technical publications, stores, handles, labels, uses, and disposes of materials and waste in accordance with all state, local, and federal environmental standards and regulations. This mechanic prepares GSE for storage and mobility deployment; and operates, cleans, inspects, and services GSE towing vehicles. In addition to maintaining vehicle records, this mechanic maintains and updates paper and electronic equipment records, provides dispatch service for GSE, including positioning equipment to support aircraft maintenance and flying operations, practices good housekeeping, tool control, Foreign Object Damage prevention, and safety at all times.
**Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:**
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or fee; and talk or hear.
