MAJOR FUNCTION:

The SCTU nurse is proficient in providing age-appropriate care, spanning from neonates and infants to pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. QUALIFICATION:

Educations & Experience:
  • Associates degree
  • You must be enrolled in a BSN or MSN program from an accredited school of professional nursing and graduate on or before the third employment anniversary date into a nursing position.
  • BSN or MSN graduates preferred
    • Grandfathered Exemption of Educational Requirement:
    • Hired on or before June 1, 2013 - IMC
    • Hired on or before August 4, 2015 - IMCW
  • A minimum of two years of nursing experience is required, which can be obtained in one or a combination of the following areas: critical care transport, prehospital basic/advanced life support, critical care, and/or emergency department nursing.
Certification/Licensure:

  • Coaching Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO) within the 100 day probationary period is required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS),

Purpose

Major Responsibilities

Qualifications
Education/Experience:
  • A minimum of a high school diploma with preference for an associate degree with courses in business, management, accounting, or related field.
  • Three years customer service-related experience involving tenants, customers, and/or employees. Parking experience preferred.
  • One year supervisory experience required. Preference shown for supervisory experience in a cash handling work environment.
  • Mechanical, inventory control, and/or procurement experience beneficial.

The Department of Emergency Medical Services Emergency Medical Technician (DEMS/EMT) provides prehospital care and/or transport to individuals of sudden illness or injury in the designated service and hospitals areas of the DEMS system. Position Responsibilities

Obtains a patient history and physical examination including the measurement of vital signs, auscultation of heart and lung sounds, and the performance of a basic neurological exam.

Performs trauma assessments in given patients, following the guidelines set forth by the American College of Surgeons, Prehospital Trauma Life Support program.

Appropriately manages a compromised airway, using manual methods, oropharyngeal or nasopharyngeal airways.

Appropriately ventilates and oxygenates patients who require intervention using bag-valve-mask ventilation, and other basic oxygen administration and ventilation devices.

Appropriately applies the Automatic External Defibrillator. Performs defibrillation as is recommended by the device, within accepted regional protocols.

Performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation and obstructed airway management techniques to the standards of the American Heart Association.

Performs all basic life support skills as required under N.J.A.C. 8:40 including but not limited to, immobilization techniques, splinting and bandaging and appropriate obstetric care.

Appropriately assists patients with approved pharmacological agents.

Performs field triage and assumes incident command functions in appropriate mass casualty situations, implementing incident command system plans and utilizing mutual aid as needed.

Appropriately utilize Advanced Life Support resources.

Appropriately documents all EMS dispatches including, but not limited to, completed BLS calls, refusals of care and recalled/canceled incidents using the current format for charting.

The EMT shall report to work on-time and in appropriate uniform. Vehicle checks shall be done at the beginning of each shift and shall include proper accountability of all keys and equipment. The shift report shall be appropriately documented by the on-coming crew in a timely fashion.

The EMT shall ensure completion of Physician certification statements, Medical Necessity forms, and all billing and transport documentation as needed.

The EMT shall carry out appropriate shift duties as assigned or directed.

The EMT shall carry out any other essential function as indicated by the DEMS management team.

Demonstrates the knowledge and ability to recognize patients in pain while in the patient physical presence and through hemodynamic signs and symptoms during chart review.

Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the various populations served by the Department of Emergency Medical Services and respects cultural and social disparities while ensuring the continual treatment and care of the individual.

Reports all suspected and overt cases of abuse and neglect to the appropriate authorities as outlined in hospital policy.

Position Summary:

Performs responsible supervisory work assuring scheduled service is maintained at all times and managing the daily operation of COTA's fixed route system. Performs Division, Radio/ADA and Street Supervision assignments. Incumbents may be required to rotate through all assignments and/or be reassigned at any time and therefore, are expected to obtain training and certifications for any assignment, as required.

Performs duties in alignment with the COTA Strategic Plan and in support of the organization's vision To Move Every Life Forward.

This Position is Responsible For:

  • Supervises and manages COTA's daily operation of the fixed route transit system ensuring compliance with city, local, state, and federal laws governing transit services. Initiates communication with the city's police, safety, and fire departments as well as local construction companies that might affect service. Maintains courteous and informative communications with the public and passengers pertaining to COTA service, schedules, and necessary changes due to emergencies and special events/circumstances;
  • Supervises, evaluates, and counsels assigned staff, achieving maximum productivity and high employee morale. Monitors bus operators by riding the system to evaluate operator efficiency. Monitors performance and maintains records of assigned operators;
  • Ensures minimum variation in scheduled bus service and passenger safety through managing on-site street operations, computerized radio equipment; and independent knowledge of COTA's service area, applicable traffic laws, policies, procedures, and union contract;
  • Resolves day-to-day operating problems which arise as a result of, including but not limited to, vehicle breakdowns, accidents, missed or late routes. Makes appropriate decisions regarding restoring or maintaining service;
  • Enforces departmental policies, procedures, and employee attendance. Initiates discipline procedures through the application of the union contract/policy manual as it pertains to bus operations activities. Exercises independent judgment as it pertains to the discipline, and grievance process by providing documentation and attending all grievances and arbitrations as required; and
  • Makes recommendations to management to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, stream-line work processes, and works cooperatively and jointly to provide customer service.

At Minimum You'll Need:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or GED, and four (4) years of supervisory, coaching, and/or mentoring experience, preferably in scheduled transportation or dispatch operations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in business or public administration. An Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Must possess, or have the ability to obtain, a Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Airbrake & Passenger endorsements; and
  • Must have the ability to obtain TSI certification, if applicable.

**Responsibilities**
+ Recruiting, Interviewing, and Hiring seasonal employees.
+ Supports the CDL training program including classroom presentation, administrative paperwork, and behind the wheel training sessions.
+ Prepares schedules, monitors operations, processes reports.
+ Maintain vendor relations with the local community and the communities we travel through. Prepares and distributes accurate and timely reports of passenger counts.
+ Supervises the Transportation Services team and the unit's activities.
+ Analyzes, prepares, and distributes reports concerning safety, weather, traffic, and construction.
+ Responsible for the supervision, performance management, salary administration, discipline, and training of directly assigned personnel.
+ Applies knowledge of transportation regulations, laws, company products, policies, and procedures.
+ Safely operates and transports passenger in motorcoaches as needed.
+ Other duties as assigned.
**Requirements**
+ This job normally requires an associate's degree or equivalent job experience in a related field.
+ Current valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company standards. A motor vehicle report will be requested.
+ Commercial driver's license certification with passenger endorsement and airbrakes (the opportunity to secure the license through a company paid training program may be available).
+ Must be certified as physically qualified through a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screen. You will also be subject to our random drug testing program.
+ Experience supervising employees in a transportation services, customer service, logistical, or business environment.
+ Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
+ Must pass a pre-employment background report.
+ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Holland America Line/Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas currently (e.g., H-1B status).

+ Proficient in the use of computer business applications (including outlook, word, and excel).
