FPA is currently searching for a full-time Electrical Group Manager for our Wall Township, New Jersey office. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years’ applicable design experience in consulting engineering and/or construction projects.

- Participate in the project proposal effort by defining the project scope of work and budget.
- Review and update the electrical department standards, details, and specification development and updates.
- Establish and maintain cooperative and productive relationships with all employees, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Quality control through project review at various stages throughout project design.
- Mentor, and coach the electrical group members and assist in the performance management process by providing feedback to the technical leader for performance evaluations.
- Works with the Project Manager to determine the staffing needs for each project.
- Assures financial and technical project success and maintains a high level of client satisfaction.
- Provides subject matter expertise to company clients on technical issues.
- Represents firm at technical conferences.
- Represents firm at client meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college/university.
- 10+ years applicable design experience in consulting engineering and/or construction projects.
- Professional License, NJ & NY

- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering (Masters preferred)
- 15+ years minimum in transportation civil engineering design
- Professional Engineering License (PE)
- 10 years minimum of project management experience

Supervise or monitor all projects in progress in the department to ensure that work is executed on time and in accordance with the client's requirements and within company policies, procedures and standards. Supervise the preparation of proposals and cost estimates to clients to ensure proper scoping of services, availability of manpower and pricing to achieve desired profitability. Supervise the daily operations of a department including staff training, development, and performance review, utilization of equipment and facilities, safety oversight, quality of services and work product, timely delivery of services and deliverables, and adherence to policies and procedure. Plan for and participate in business development activities to identify, develop, win, and execute project opportunities and build and maintain client relationships.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for preparation of proposals and cost estimates.
- With support from the Department/Office manager perform business and client development activities.
- With support from the Department/Office Manager develop and manage employee staffing plans, recruitment, selection and on-boarding.
- With support from the Department/Office Manager prepare and execute annual business plan for the specialty service group.
- With support from the Department/Office Manager oversee and manage the success of the key group metrics of revenue growth, staff chargeability, project billing and collections, and project profitability.
- Develop understanding and be aware of project-related risk. Be familiar with what could go wrong on a project and how to protect the Company. Be familiar with company risk policies.
- Lead safety efforts for team and ensure team follows safety rules and guidelines. Responsible for creating and modeling a safe work environment; demonstrates safety practices. Promote pre-task planning for all projects.
- Provide and lead continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects. Monitor and promote quality standards and practices.
- Provide consistent quality standards on project and proposal delivery.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in technical discipline practiced by the Firm including Engineering, Environmental Science or Geology and 5 years' practice experience. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 9 years' related experience.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
- Certification or licensure in field of expertise.
- Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer status preferred.

Material Group Manager
The Material Group Manager is responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies for a defined group of materials or components, ensuring alignment with business objectives such as cost optimization, innovation, and supply security. This role acts as the strategic interface between the supplier market and internal stakeholders, managing key supplier relationships and leading commercial negotiations. Additionally, the position serves as the lead purchaser in cross-functional project teams, supporting product development from concept to production. Through close collaboration with Engineering, Quality, and Program Management, the Material Group Manager ensures timely sourcing, cost transparency, and risk mitigation throughout the product lifecycle. The role is critical in driving long-term supplier performance, standardization, and competitive advantage within the assigned material group.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute global sourcing strategies aligned with company goals, cost targets, and market dynamics
- Drive supplier selection, qualification, and development based on quality, cost, capability, and compliance standards
- Lead cost optimization initiatives using total cost of ownership (TCO), value engineering, and benchmarking analyses
- Build strong, strategic supplier partnerships through regular performance reviews and collaboration on innovation and sustainability goals
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all strategic purchasing matters, including supplier escalations and project sourcing needs
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing to align sourcing strategies with technical requirements
- Prepare, negotiate, and manage supplier contracts, pricing agreements, and service level expectations
- Support new product introductions by managing RFQs, supplier nominations, and material sourcing from prototype to production
- Maintain accurate supplier and sourcing data in ERP systems, supporting transparency and continuous process improvement
- Contribute to make-or-buy decisions and implement second-source strategies to mitigate risk and ensure supply continuity
