The Substance Use Group Counselor to facilitate group therapy sessions for individuals struggling with substance use disorders. The counselor will provide education, support, and guidance to help clients develop coping strategies and work toward recovery. Substance Use Group Therapy Counselor Job Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate group counseling sessions focused on addiction recovery, relapse prevention, coping skills, and mental health.

IOP Mental Health Therapist

Our Intensive Outpatient Program is a six-month, structured program for clients who struggle to emotionally regulate and build healthy relationships. Our clients meet with therapists 3 days a week, either in group or individual therapy. Clinician openings in this program include Adolescent or Adult Group Therapy leaders, and Individual therapists for either adults or youth.

Our IOP program works as a close team of Therapists, CBRS providers, Case Management, Peer Support, and Medication Management specialists to share knowledge, work collaboratively, and maximize client growth. Our clinicians are provided professional development weekly. Therapists with strong rapport-building skills will appreciate the depth of the therapeutic relationship in this IOP program. We strive to build a supportive, safe place for employees and clients alike.

Mental Health Counselor in our East Bay Wrap Program use a high-fidelity model that is honest, family centered, culturally/linguistically responsive and community based. The work is very challenging, and spiritually rewarding, especially to those who may have overcome barriers in the past. Wraparound staff work with families utilizing a comprehensive team-based approach. Our program offers a myriad of services and support including behavioral and mental health assessment and interventions as well as medication and psychiatric support. Fred Finch offers weekly individual and group supervision toward licensure hours, free CEUs, free trainings to improve clinical skills, and biannual scholarship opportunities for professional development. Monday - Friday 9am -5:30pm Salary Range In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this position is between $25.30 and $32.29 per hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law. Amazing Benefits: 21 PTO Days per year 9 Nationally Observed Holidays 401k matching up to 6% Affordable monthly health care premiums What You Bring to The Table (requirements): Required Enrollment in a M.A. Degree in Social Work or Counseling from an accredited college or university; OR Masters Degree with two or more years of work experience in a mental health setting, but not waivered or registered with the board; OR A.A. Degree with six or more years of work experience; OR B.A. Degree with four or more years of work experience.Certified to conduct a CANS/ANSA assessment within 90 days of employment if CANS/ANSA utilized by program.Supervised experience in providing counseling services.Demonstrated knowledge of risk assessment, including danger to self or others, and effective community-based interventions for those with high risk.Demonstrated cultural responsiveness in working with diverse families and communities.Must be able to respond quickly to emergencies, and to learn and implement Pro- ACT (or other agency approved crisis de-escalation training).Clean driving record: current CA Drivers License or ability to obtain within 10 days after hired.Must have access to dependable transportation; personal car insurance meeting minimum liability coverage required if position requires driving for work or transporting participants.Basic computer and keyboarding competence with the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and/or competency with electronic clinical documentation systems. Preferred Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of diagnostic assessment, crisis management, and individual/family/group behavioral treatment methods for target population of program.One (1) year experience with program target population (Example: intellectually disabled, homeless, teens or young adults, seriously emotionally disturbed).One (1) year experience with program modality (example: school-based, residential, mobile/community-based, wraparound, etc.Demonstrated ability to assess, triage and organize work.Applies a strength-based, culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and flexible approach to supervision, participant and community service, in order to support participant recovery, health, and wellness.Familiarity, training, certification, or experience with recovery-model orientation, public mental health and child welfare systems, and/or trauma-informed interventions.Fluency in prevailing language(s) of the community.Experience with or knowledge of designing, supervising, monitoring, changing, and discontinuing individualized behavioral interventions for staff delivering behavioral services (e.g., TBS).
