We are seeking a skilled and reliable Preventative Maintenance Engineer to support the overall upkeep and functionality of our property. This role includes performing routine maintenance, addressing guest requests, and ensuring all systems operate safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, basic knowledge of building systems, and a commitment to providing a safe and well-maintained environment.
Key Responsibilities- You will help ensure our hotel runs smoothly by maintaining and repairing various systems and equipment.
- Your daily tasks will include performing routine maintenance, diagnosing and fixing issues, and assisting with upgrades and installations.
- You will report to the Engineering Supervisor or Chief Engineer.
- A career as a maintenance engineer can lead to positions such as engineering supervisor, chief engineer, or even facilities management within the hospitality industry.
Hotel experience is always a plus! Applicants should have:

Summary/Objective
The Preventative Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and machinery to ensure optimal functioning.
Pay Rate: $23 an hour
Essential Functions
- Ensure Company-provided vehicle is continuously stocked with needed parts/tools for completing work.
- Provides assistance as needed for repairs or replacement of building rotating mechanical equipment.
- Perform minor repairs on building structures and furnishings such as ceilings, toles, wallboard, plastered walls, cabinets, bookcases, resilient floor tiles, carpeting, lighting systems, painted surfaces, internal and external doors and door hardware, ceramic tile walls and floors, wall mounted fixtures and dispensers, and other similar equipment.
- Effective communicator in listening, writing, and verbal.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Ability to solve problems.
- Ability to work as a team.
- Ability to organize and prioritize competing responsibilities.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct reports.
Work Environment
Outdoors exposed to changing and/or extreme weather conditions (for instance, rain, sun, snow, wind, humidity, etc.).
Physical Demands
Heavy physical activity performing strenuous day activities of a primarily production/technical nature. Manual dexterity is sufficient to reach/handle items, works with fingers, and perceives attributes of objects and materials.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are primarily 8 hours each day, Monday through Friday on a day shift. This position often requires overtime.
Travel
This position does not have any travel requirements.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Minimum 5 years Preventative Maintenance experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
2 years of direct automotive repair experience.
Computer Operations
Basic personal computer skills including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc. Use miscellaneous office equipment (e.g., calculators, typewriters, computers, FAX machines, copiers, etc.).
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Must be able to obtain TWIC badge (Transportation Working Identification Card).
Must be able to maintain a valid driver's license.

Perform general maintenance work to ensure hotel maintenance quality standards are achieved and maintained.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Assist with preventative maintenance and complete report work orders such as replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, patching vinyl, etc., to maintain the hotel and keep the product quality standard.
2. Perform preventative maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis (e.g., "room care").
3. Assist in checking electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, television sets, lighting systems, and make minor repairs and/or replacement.
4. Assist in checking and making routine repairs and assist on major repairs of all hotel equipment including small appliances, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, boilers, pool equipment, HVAC, hand and power tools and general plumbing systems and fixtures such as pipe lines, toilets and sinks, kitchen and laundry equipment.
5. Maintain the building exterior and "curb appeal" (e.g., snow removal, lawn care, painting, gardening).
6. Refurbish furniture and fixtures within guest rooms such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors windows and counters. Paint and finish furniture and fixtures if needed.
7. Respond in a courteous manner to all guest questions, complaints, and/or requests to ensure strong guest satisfaction.
8. Exposure to extreme temperatures.
9. Operation of heavy machinery.
10. Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
11. Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must have the ability to communicate in English. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times. Can communicate well with guests. Must be willing to "pitch-in" and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player. Climbing, reading, standing, walking and routinely lifting 25 lbs. to 50 lbs.
