Key Responsibilities:

**Responsibilities**
The Certified Hand Occupational Therapist performs evaluation/re-evaluation, develops a plan of care, provides evidence-based treatment, assesses data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interprets information relative to the patient's needs. Combines comprehensive knowledge of the structure, function and activity of the upper limb in order to specialize in the treatment and rehabilitation of the upper extremity (hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder girdle). Works closely with the patient, family, and members of a physician-led team in providing individualized patient treatment. Completes required documentation of care and appropriate billing consistent with professional guidelines. Engages in research, education and quality initiatives in pursuit of excellence in the provision of care and develops and carries out a personal plan for professional growth. Duties require extensive standing and walking, frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching. Requires heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning/transferring patients.
**Qualifications**
Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from an accredited college or university required.
**Additional Qualifications**
An academic or professional doctorate degree is preferred (PhD, DSc, OTD).
**License or Certification**

Position Overview
Responsible for loading barges, checking drafts, handling lines and cables, switching and moving barges. Communicating with boat pilot and quarry personnel to coordinate barge loading. Routine housekeeping and maintenance duties.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Safely handle docking barges, handle lines, clean walkways on barges, inspect barges for water, and remove old or broken rigging and lines.
- Responsible for a safe work environment for themselves and co-workers.
- Properly follow all company policies and USCG/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment. Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by USCG and/or MSHA. Required to know when and how to properly use emergency equipment.
- Follow directions of Foreperson daily.
- Perform barge maintenance duties as required. Report maintenance issues to Foreperson.
- Inspect barges and other assigned equipment daily.
- Communicate daily production rates and problems to the Foreperson.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
- Reliable attendance is essential to performance in this role.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education/Experience
- Minimum high school or general education degree (GED) required.
- Prefer previous related experience in the materials loading/water based limestone mining or experience as a barge loader.
- Catch a line on deck fittings and cast lines free when getting underway.
- Required to use hand tools and power tools.
- Must be able to communicate with wheelhouse and other crewmembers. Communication may be made via radio, orally, by sound signals or by hand signals.
- Strictly adhere to safety requirements, policies, and procedures as outlined in the employee policy manual.
- Report to work at the designated start time.
- Work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors/managers with other duties as required.
- Perform general labor duties when necessary.
- Availability to work any 8 to 12 hour shift, including day/nights/weekends.
- Prefer previous deck hand or barge loading experience.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Climb: ascend/descend stairs/ladders while transporting tools or objects.
- Lift: exertion of physical strength to move objects (115 lbs.) from one level to another.

- Bend: flexion of the upper trunk forward while standing and knees extended or knees flexed when sitting.
