Position Title: Hardware Validaton Engineer
Overview:
We're seeking a hands-on engineer to join a multidisciplinary technical team focused on validating and troubleshooting hardware systems across a range of platforms, including enterprise servers, networking gear, and computing devices. This role involves setting up test environments, executing performance and scalability assessments, and supporting root cause analysis for issues.
The role sits within a cross-functional engineering support group that collaborates with design, operations, and integration teams to ensure product reliability and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Lab Setup & Configuration:
Assemble and maintain validation stations using appropriate tools, components, and software to simulate real-world operating conditions.
Test Execution & Optimization:
Run structured and exploratory tests to evaluate system behavior under load. Refine procedures based on results and contribute feedback to design teams.
Issue Reproduction & Analysis:
Investigate anomalies by reproducing failures and isolating root causes across hardware, firmware, and scripting layers.
Reporting & Documentation:
Generate clear, detailed records of test results, debug efforts, and technical support activities. Maintain logs for traceability and future reference.
Cross-Team Support:
Provide technical assistance during system validation phases, helping teams resolve hardware/software integration issues.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with engineers and stakeholders to meet project milestones and ensure alignment with broader technical goals.
Additional Engineering Tasks:
Participate in other technical initiatives as directed by leadership.
Qualifications & Skills:
Candidates with a strong foundation in electronics and system-level hardware integration are preferred.
Practical experience with server architecture and diagnostic workflows.
Familiarity with networking hardware, power systems, and desktop computing platforms.
Understanding of system buses and interfaces (e.g., PCIe, USB).
Hands-on experience with lab tools (oscilloscopes, DMMs, soldering stations).
Exposure to system management protocols (e.g., IPMI, Redfish).
Knowledge of communication standards (e.g., Ethernet, PCIe).

You will interface with stakeholders from Data center, Manufacturing and Product Design to identify and validate operational risks. You will influence new platform architectures through technical insights that mitigate risks found during validation tests. You will collaborate with Hardware and Software Test Engineers to build in-house ability in Design for Operations.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $113,000-$161,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. **Responsibilities**
+ Validate New Product Introduction (NPI) systems against technical requirements that includes L10/L11 system from the data center loading dock to installation to production to decommissioning.
+ Author product tailored test plans based on data center insights into product design, software tools and process workflows. Create, modify, or deprecate verification tests that reflect changes to the technical requirements.
+ Author test reports of the risk to the product and recommended risk mitigation steps. Ensure on time delivery of test cases while gathering data and documenting test life-cycle.
+ Identify and implement opportunities for leveraging automation to ensure the execution of test and report processes.
+ Communicate product risks to the cross-functional teams of engineers from Data center, Manufacturing and Product Design. Utilize established channels to communicate test updates, project trade-offs, technical recommendations, and escalations.
