Job Description

The Product Development Engineer position is a team member of the research and development organization, responsible for managing Innovation, Development, Cost Savings, and compliance projects to support business growth and product vitality. The Engineer will work in an interesting and dynamic environment, including factory trials, laboratory testing, and business partnership with internal and external customers. This position offers a good opportunity for career building experiences in many aspects of research and development, manufacturing, and business operations.
**Primary Responsibilities**
+ Coordinate manufacturing, testing and validating product development designs for new or enhanced products.
+ Assess plant capabilities related to new product manufacturing.
+ Participate in factory level experimental trials.
+ Prepares prototypes and test plans for internal labs and third-party agencies.
+ Coordinate third party (UL, ETL, CSA, etc.) submittals for qualification.
+ Coordinate cost savings projects with Design, Manufacturing and Purchasing to meet business objectives.
+ Coordinate with Material Labs to qualify new materials.
+ Support manufacturing in new product industrialization, as required.
+ Maintain progress and report on key product development activities.
+ Coordinate information sharing between other departments.
**Specific Skills/ Training Required**
+ Outstanding verbal and written communication
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
+ Technical writing
+ Strong competency of Microsoft tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
+ Ability to contribute in a team environment
+ Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
**Education/Experience Required**
+ BS degree in Engineering, Polymer or Materials Science or related area.
+ Experience in industrial or application engineering preferred
+ Knowledge of polymer processing experience preferred
**Physical Requirements / Safety Requirements**
+ Lifting (up to 50 lbs.)
+ Perception and discrimination of color, sound, texture.

As a Senior Member of Technical Staff, you will be a key contributor to the development and success of our next-generation CDA platform, which leverages the power of generative AI and cloud-native technologies. Your expertise in data platform engineering will drive the creation of a robust and intelligent system, enhancing the healthcare experience for patients and clinicians alike.
**Responsibilities**

+ Design and implementation of the CDA data platform, ensuring it is scalable, secure, and optimized for AI-driven applications.
+ Collaborate closely with the CDA team, including AI researchers, software developers, and healthcare domain experts, to define and refine the platform's architecture.
+ Develop and maintain the backend infrastructure, focusing on data ingestion, storage, processing, and retrieval systems.
+ Implement data modeling and database design to support complex healthcare data structures and relationships.
+ Integrate search technologies and natural language processing (NLP) capabilities to enable conversational search, semantic search, and summarization features.
+ Build and optimize data pipelines using ETL/ELT processes and tools like Kafka, Flink, and RabbitMQ for efficient data flow.
+ Ensure data security and privacy by implementing access controls, encryption, and compliance with healthcare regulations.
+ Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing and technical excellence.
+ Stay updated with the latest advancements in cloud-native AI/ML technologies and propose innovative solutions to enhance the CDA platform.
**Qualifications:**
+ BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related field is required, with a strong academic background.
+ 4+ years of relevant software development experience, with a focus on backend and data-centric applications.
+ Proficient in Java, Python, or similar object-oriented languages for building robust backend systems.
+ Strong software engineering fundamentals, including expertise in data structures, algorithms, RESTful services, and microservices architecture.
+ Hands-on experience with cloud-native development on major cloud platforms (OCI, Azure, GCP, AWS) is essential.
+ Familiarity with cloud engineering infrastructure and containerization (Kubernetes, Docker).
+ Excellent communication skills for conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
+ Demonstrated technical leadership and a passion for mentoring junior team members.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $79,200 to $178,100 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
