What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Maintain, coordinate and communicate dangerous goods processes and procedures
  • Review, administer, maintain and ensure compliance with company policies and various state and federal regulations
  • Stay abreast of applicable local, state and federal hazardous materials/dangerous goods regulations and legislation
  • Conduct on-site or virtual audits of facility requirements as it relates to dangerous goods programs and initiatives
  • Review, analyze, develop and communicate dangerous goods programs and solutions initiatives; develop action plans as necessary
  • Evaluate potential impact on business processes and advise senior leadership and advocates of appropriate actions
  • Lead meetings, training and continuing education
What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you'll need:

  • 4 years of relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of the supply chain and logistics industry
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule as needed, including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends
It'd be great if you also have:
  • Certified IATA Dangerous Goods by Air, 49 CFR, US DOT DG by Road, IMDG, International Maritime Dangerous Goods by Sea
  • 5 years of recent DG shipping experience
  • Working knowledge of carrier-defined shipping programs (UPS - WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager)
  • Understanding of industry-related state and federal rules and regulations
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics or a related field
  • Strong time and project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workloads

About The Job

We are seeking a Logistics Manager - DG & Classified Materials. In this role, you will build and manage a dangerous goods & classified materials policy, guidance, training, and ensure the secure and compliant movement of materials around the world. You will shape and scale operations, processes, and standards to deliver best-in-class, white-glove deployment services. A successful candidate brings an expert level of experience in dangerous goods transportation and secure movement of classified materials. You will build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and ensure on-time, successful deployments in support of critical missions around the world. What You'll Do
  • Develop and Implement Policy & Compliance Frameworks
    • Establish and maintain dangerous goods (DG) and classified material handling policies, ensuring compliance with U.S. and international regulations (e.g., ITAR, EAR, DOT, IATA, IMDG, DOD 5220.22-M, NISPOM).
    • Serve as Anduril's subject matter expert (SME) on hazardous materials transportation, special permits, and classified material handling.
    • Create and continuously update a comprehensive inventory of all dangerous goods materials, ensuring accurate identification, and classification.
  • Secure & Compliant Transportation Management
    • Oversee the end-to-end movement of hazardous and classified materials, ensuring secure and timely delivery for deployments worldwide.
    • Work with carriers, freight forwarders, and government partners to establish compliant shipping lanes and handling procedures.
    • Develop and maintain chain-of-custody protocols for classified materials, ensuring strict security and accountability.
  • Operational Execution & Risk Mitigation
    • Build scalable logistics processes for the safe transport, storage, and deployment of sensitive materials.
    • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to prevent security incidents or compliance violations.
    • Lead investigations and corrective actions for any shipping, security, or regulatory non-compliance events.
  • Strategic Scaling & Optimization
    • Design and implement dangerous goods infrastructure that supports the rapid scaling of Anduril's deployments.
    • Work closely with engineering, and manufacturing teams to assess new products for dangerous goods classification and maintain updated Safety Data Sheets.
    • Identify and integrate new solutions to enhance visibility and security in DG & classified transportation.
  • Develop and Implement Training Programs
    • Design and deliver detailed internal training courses on the handling, packing, transportation, and compliance regulations for dangerous goods and classified materials.
    • Establish certification programs to ensure personnel handling DG and classified shipments meet regulatory and operational standards.
    • Maintain training records, conduct annual refresher courses, and perform audits to ensure ongoing adherence to the standards.
Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of extensive dangerous goods and classified materials experience, with at least 2 years in a training role.
  • Holds a current domestic and international certification in Dangerous Goods transport for all modes (land, air, sea) from an industry accepted source. (IATA, IMDG, 49 CFR)
  • Experience managing special permits, licensing, and secure transport for sensitive defense related materials.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required to enable an effective interface with other departments, and all levels of management.
  • Proven ability to problem-solve and remove obstacles for your teams; willing to roll up your sleeves and tackle any challenge.

US Salary Range: $108,000 - $162,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. **Job Description**
**AECOM** has a position available for an **Environmental Health and Safety Compliance Professional** located in the Bay Area. This hybrid position can be based out of our Oakland or San Jose, CA offices.
The successful candidate will be part of a diverse team of engineers and scientists that are responsible for a wide range of environmental, health and safety consulting services in California. We are looking for a proven professional in the industry who understands health and safety regulations, environmental compliance, and has the ability to implement a variety of support services for our clients. The role includes the opportunity to support large local, national and international clients with their environmental, health and safety compliance and environmental compliance needs.
**The successful candidate will have experience and be capable of executing the following responsibilities of this position with minimal supervision:**
+ Conduct environmental, health and safety inspections and audits at various types of sites (manufacturing, commercial, high tech, etc.) for clients to identify potential deficiencies or hazards and determine corrective actions accordingly.
+ Ability to understand the intent and application of a diverse set of state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations (e.g., EPA, RWQCB, OSHA, DTSC), and the ability to effectively educate our clients specific to their regulatory obligations and compliance.
+ Support the preparation and submission of permit applications, audit reports, compliance reports, and other regulatory documents as required.
+ Provide on-site environmental, health and safety support services for various clients.
+ Develop and conduct environmental, health and safety-related employee training, emergency preparedness and assure the quality of programs for clients.
+ Develop, implement, review and maintain various OSHA and State required safety and health programs, systems and procedures
+ Provide Federal and California regulatory interpretation and technical advice.
+ Conduct accident investigations and prepare accident reports required by regulatory agencies.
+ Provide safety consultation for chemical and physical hazards including ergonomics, electrical safety, respiratory and hearing protection, compressed energy, and emergency preparedness.
+ Provide or collaborate with co-workers to provide similar environmental compliance services.

**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, safety, or related field.
+ 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in environmental, health and safety experience focused on health and safety regulations and environmental compliance.
+ Ability to travel approximately 1 week per month (i.e. 25% of the time) to conduct audits.
+ Valid US Driver's License and pre-employment driving record verification is required.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ 4+ years of health and safety regulations and environmental compliance experience.
+ Professional certification - CPEA, PE, CSP, CIH, CHMM or other equivalent certification.
+ Experience with ISO 45001, 9001, 14001.
+ Experience with environmental compliance for industrial facilities.
+ Demonstrated communication, organization, and planning skills.
**Additional Information**
+ Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $80,000.00 - $2,000.00.
