Job Description
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of a fleet of trucks and drivers specializing in hazardous materials transport.
- Ensure compliance with all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations pertaining to hazardous materials.
- Develop and implement safety programs and training for drivers to promote a culture of safety excellence.
- Monitor driver performance, conduct regular safety audits, and manage disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Oversee vehicle maintenance schedules to ensure fleet reliability and compliance.
- Manage dispatch operations, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods.
- Investigate and report on any accidents or safety incidents, implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of driver logs, vehicle maintenance, and regulatory compliance.
- Optimize routes and load assignments for maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with drivers, dispatchers, and other operational staff.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation and fleet management, with a significant portion involving hazardous materials.
- Possession of a valid CDL Class A license with Hazmat endorsement is highly desirable, though not strictly required for supervision.
- In-depth knowledge of DOT regulations, including HOS, HAZMAT, and IFTA.
- Proven experience in driver supervision and performance management.
- Strong understanding of fleet maintenance and safety best practices.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours and respond to operational needs as required.
- Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) is a plus.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.

Basic Purpose
