Reporting to the Program Director, the Hyperbaric Technician administers hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Provider. This position is responsible for the safe and effective operation of the hyperbaric chamber(s) and related support systems, as well as for the safe delivery of hyperbaric oxygen therapy to the hyperbaric patient. All Healogics employees must perform their job responsibilities according to all Healogics policies, Hospital policies, as well as to accrediting organizations, federal and state regulation, and to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) guidelines, as applicable.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:- Prepares, educates, and orients patients about the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. This includes lifting or transferring patients per local policy, getting them ready for treatment administration, and answering their questions.
- Administers the hyperbaric oxygen therapy as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Provider to the patient. This includes monitoring and controlling the performance of the hyperbaric chamber equipment, as well as monitoring the patient(s) responses during the session and making proper adjustments to ensure the patients safety and the safe and effective use of the equipment.
- Makes appropriate data entries for daily hyperbaric treatments and wound care clinic visits and keeps complete and accurate patient records as they pertain to treatment documentation, to include photo uploading.
- Operates and maintains the hyperbaric chamber and other hyperbaric support oxygen systems as required.
- Assist in vein clinic as assigned after Healogics Vein Clinic training completed.
- Participates in the safety program activities such as assisting with safety drills.
- If CMA or LPN, may function as a Documentation Assistant (scribe) in accordance with Healogics policy.
- Performs other duties as required.
- High School Diploma or GED (General Education Development)
- Current healthcare professional certification or license as applicable in state of practice - to maintain throughout the duration of employment in this role. This applies to:

About the job HBO Technician - Certified Hyperbaric Tech
Korzen Health is collaborating with University Orthopedic Care to integrate a full-time Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) into their team. This is a clinic-based position (NOT hospital-based).
The Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) will facilitate and provide care to patients during their clinical visit at our facility. The CHT will be responsible for administering hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients under the supervision of a Hyperbaric Physician and Office Manager. All therapeutic and diagnostic procedures will follow the physicians orders and established protocols.
Key Responsibilities
The Lead CHT will be responsible for the supervision of the other CHT as well as be the Safety Officer for the facility.
Patient Care and Safety:
- Restricting or removing any hazardous materials or equipment items from the chambers.
- Administer hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients safely and effectively.
- Monitor patients during treatment, ensuring their comfort and safety inside the hyperbaric chamber.
- Measure and record patient vitals, such as blood pressure, glucose levels, weight, and height, as required.
- Educate patients and their families about the benefits, risks, and safety guidelines of hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
- Capable of dealing with medical emergencies
- Operate hyperbaric chambers and related systems in compliance with established protocols.
- Conduct routine cleaning and maintenance of hyperbaric chambers, equipment, and clinical tools (e.g., vital sign machines, thermometers, chairs).
- Perform daily checks on backup air and oxygen supplies to ensure uninterrupted operation.
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient treatment records, diagnostic reports and safety logs.
- Establishing and maintaining written, standard operation procedures, emergency procedures, maintenance routines, policies, and equipment logs.
- Report adverse patient reactions to the hyperbaric physician and assist in adjusting treatments as necessary.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including laundry (washing, drying, folding) and inventory management.
- Perform continuous quality improvement tasks, such as chart audits and procedure reviews.
- Assist with patient orientation and answer any treatment-related questions.
- HBO Tech will be diving an average of 8-12 patients per day. The center is a full-service Orthopedic Center that focuses on Automobile Accident Victims.
- We offer a myriad of therapy from IV, Wound Care, HBO, Infusion and Minimal Invasive Surgery. This is a private group that will allow you to grow within the network of clinics.
- Consult regularly with the Hyperbaric Physician to discuss treatment outcomes and protocol adjustments.
- Comply with all infection control standards and occupational health policies.
- Attend training sessions and maintain up-to-date certifications as required.
- Ensure all personnel operating hyperbaric equipment and attending patients in the facility are appropriately qualified to perform their responsibilities
- Knowledge of hyperbaric medicine policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Ability to maintain a clean, organized workspace and follow infection control standards.

Essential Functions:
- The Clinical Assistant properly prepares the examination and treatment areas per clinic standards.
- Completes patient rooming procedures to include vital signs, data collection and other identified components specific to the clinic setting and within outlined Scope of Responsibilities.
- Assists with Point of Care laboratory testing following successful competency training.
- Ensures documentation in the patient record is accurate, clear, and concise within outlined Scope of Responsibilities.
- Completes all assigned clerical activities and supply maintenance/ordering as directed.
- Assists with scheduling follow up care as ordered/directed.
- Functions within the documented Monument Health Scope of Responsibilities.
- Assists the medical imaging department to perform limited x-ray exams following successful competency training.

- Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Professional Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer.
- Regarding BLS certification: The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable.
Preferred:
- Education - High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies
- Education - 80 hours of initial training in radiation safety, positioning, image review

Coordinates safe and effective operations for the hyperbaric chambers and related support systems, including performing patient care. Is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance on the hyperbaric chambers and related support systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
In charge of all hyperbaric equipment.
Ensures that patients are receiving appropriate, safe therapy by serving as the hyperbaric clinical specialist.
Instructs patients and family on appropriateness of hyperbaric therapy, care plan, orientation, education and observation.
Performs hyperbaric treatments, including wound care, incorporating CQI measures.
Works closely with facility management and departmental staff; organizes and provides hyperbaric related education to staff.
Organizes and implements the hyperbaric safety program. Reviews incidents, collect information, reports relevant incidents and provides safety related training. Makes needed recommendations for safety policies and procedures.
Maintains all facility related compliance standards for various regulatory agencies, such as NFPA 99. Supports clinical hyperbaric facility accreditations and fosters positive relationships with external entities.
Responsible for the protection, maintenance, inspection and appropriate documentation of the hyperbaric chamber, related systems and ancillary components.
Provides techniques for the principles of modern, moist, interactive wound care and application of advanced therapeutic modalities.
Monitors and documents patient response to therapies performed by the Hyperbaric Unit.
Actively markets and publicizes the Hyperbaric Unit.
Ensures that protocols and care plans are being followed, makes recommendations to management.
Ensures that equipment is up to date and meets standards of care. Performs all quality control and instrument check procedures and maintains related records.
Evaluates equipment/supplies used in chamber and ensures that they meet all safety requirements; restricts or removes any potentially hazardous supplies or equipments.
Conducts quarterly fire safety drills which are to improve staff response to emergency situations.
Meets monthly with the Medical Director to ensure compliance with safety standards and that reimbursement requirements are met. Gives input on departmental policy and procedure
Works closely with Program Director and DCS Regional Director of Safety to coordinate and approve all hyperbaric chamber upgrades, modification and repairs to the hyperbaric system to ensure that all maintenance activities are done in accordance with safety standards.
Adheres to TMCH organizational and department-specific safety, confidentiality, values, policies and standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION: High School diploma or GED
EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years of related experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: Current Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support ACLS preferred. Attends or provides verification of attendance to, an Introductory Hyperbaric Training Course as approved by the National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology (NBDHMT).

Summary:
Protect and serve the patients, staff and visitors of UNC Hospitals through law enforcement and crime prevention. Develop and implement preventative patrol techniques and perform specialized duties to deter crime and promote effective safety and security practices including evaluating statistical criminal activity data and trend evaluation; assessing potential for crime; developing and managing information programs to reduce crime; and distributing printed informational materials.
Develop and manage programs aimed at reducing crime through educating the public regarding activity on Hospital property. Focus is on personal and group preventative measures to reduce the probability that a crime will occur, plus explaining the role of UNCHP as it relates to the Hospital community.
Conduct investigations of criminal activity that occurs on Hospital owned property which Includes conducting preliminary and follow-up investigations concerning violation(s) of State law, injury to persons or property, and conditions and causes of an incident.
Identifies leads, conducts interviews, prepares written reports and court documents, and identifies, collects and preserves evidence. Determines the causes of crimes, arrests suspects and testifies in court.
Enforce State and local traffic laws and ordinances. Includes: accident Investigation, aiding injured persons, interviewing victims, witnesses, etc., writing citations, and arresting as appropriate. Controls and directs pedestrian and vehicular traffic in accident and other designated areas, and other traffic related duties as needed.

Summary:
A Police Officer at the UNC Hospital campus is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of patients, staff, visitors, and property within the hospital campus. Officers in this role will perform a variety of law enforcement duties, including patrolling the campus, responding to emergencies, and enforcing hospital policies and regulations. This role is critical in maintaining a secure and peaceful environment conducive to healthcare delivery.

Responsibilities:
1. Emergency Response- Responds appropriately and in a timely manner to any and all emergency situations as well as activated security and panic alarms. Participates as a functioning part of the Emergency Response Team to provide or prevent access to the involved area as required in emergency situations. Maintains a working knowledge of emergency codes and UNC Hospitals Police response procedures.
2. Conflict Resolution - Mediates and resolves conflicts or disturbances involving patients, visitors, or staff. Use deescalation techniques to manage potentially volatile situations. Assists with mental health patient custody issues and also assists in both arranging transportation to other facilities.
3. Community Policing- Protects and serves the hospital staff, patients and visitors of UNC Health Care, through law enforcement and crime prevention. 4. Investigations and Incident Report Writing- Enters incident reports into the Police-Pak system in a complete, concise, and proper manner. Investigates and documents all incidents of a criminal nature, including follow up investigations. Apprehends and arrests criminals. Submits all paperwork for arrest, felony prosecution reports, and uniform citations in a timely manner. Runs criminal history checks and utilizes NCIC/DCI/CJLeads/NCAWARE. Takes custody of found items, secures them properly, and attempts to return property to its owner. Investigates lost/stolen/damaged property. Initiates risk assessments on D.O.C. inmates, patients, and employees as required. Assists and coordinates activities of outside police agencies. Follows departmental and NC criminal justice standards for the collection and maintenance of evidence.
5. Patrol and Surveillance- Patrols assigned areas to detect and deter criminal activity. promote an absence of crime. Properly documents and reports security or safety hazards. Escorts employees, patients, and visitors to parking areas. Provides after hours access to secured areas for authorized personnel. Collects, inventories, and secures patient property. Maintains, compiles, and transports patient commitment documents to the magistrate's office. Interacts with personnel in patrol areas and challenges all suspicious persons encountered.
