Key Responsibilities: Accounting Operations & Financial ReportingOversee daily, monthly, and annual accounting operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, and closings.

About The Role
The ideal Head of Accounting candidate will have 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership in an MGA, brokerage, or insurance-related firm. This role will report to the Chief Financial Officer and is available to work remotely or in a state where Players Health currently has employees, unless approved otherwise. Players Health is a remote-first distributed workforce. Travel may be required for team collaboration, training, and development. The Head of Accounting role has a compensation range of $140,000-$180,000, depending on skills and experience.

Responsibilities (are inclusive of but not limited to):
Financial Reporting & Oversight
- Direct all monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities across multiple entities
- Oversee preparation of GAAP financial statements, management reports, and board packages
- Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling in partnership with FP&A
- Provide financial insights to executive leadership to inform strategy

- Maintain knowledge of statutory accounting principles (SAP) to support carrier reporting, bordereaux accuracy, and MGA obligations

This role has direct ownership and accountability for the timely and accurate close of the books each month, which is the first and most critical responsibility, above all else. The ideal candidate is a player-coach, a builder and operator, equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves to close the books as they are redesigning the workflows and systems that support them. This role is responsible for driving process excellence, enabling automation and AI-driven efficiencies, strengthening financial controls, and developing accounting talent to support scalable and sustainable growth. This role will be responsible for maintaining operational discipline, rebuilding foundational workflows, and ensuring that both the accounting team and systems infrastructure are positioned for long-term success. Responsibilities:
- Monthly Close Ownership & Operational Excellence
- Lead and drive the monthly close process from start to finish, ensuring accuracy (to the dollar), timeliness and completeness across all accounts
- Own the integrity and execution of the full spectrum of accounting operations, which includes performing reconciliations, creating journal entries, reviewing accruals and maintaining the general ledger with rigor and accountability

The annual base salary range for this role is $130k-190k (new hires are typically brought into the organization between the minimum to midpoint of the salary range posted depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role) . It is important to note that our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size, industry, and the market and are one part of the total rewards that we provide. Job Summary
Etched is seeking a Head of Accounting to establish and scale our internal accounting function. You will be the first dedicated hire in accounting and will be responsible for owning day-to-day operations, monthly close, vendor payments, compliance, and financial reporting. Youll work closely with our strategic finance team and external accounting and tax partners to ensure timely and accurate financials. As we grow, youll play a critical role in designing scalable systems and processes that support a rapidly expanding business, including building out the accounting team from scratch.

Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Accounting at Finally to join our team as our inaugural hire on the internal accounting staff. The ideal candidate will be at the Controller or Director level, and have experience at a fintech start up, financial services company, or financial institution, or possess a strong background with working and scaling teams as the first finance or accounting hire at a previous start up. In this role, you will be responsible for putting in place and optimizing our internal accounting workflows, internal and external financial reporting, leading month end closes, making sure our general ledger and chart of accounts are accurate, working with cross functional partners to enforce our corporate expense policy, and leading the company through our first audit.
This will be an exceptionally high visibility and entrepreneurial position. You will also have the opportunity to be a critical thought partner and design partner for our product and engineering teams as they build the next generation financial automation platform for small and medium sized businesses.

This position serves as a senior leader in the Department of Corrections' (DOC's) finance department and is responsible for ensuring accurate and consistent accounting and finance operations for MINNCOR Industries. Responsibilities include:
+ Manage the operation of the MINNCOR financial services team so that general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost accounting, financial reporting, inventories, and cashiering are provided and appropriate financial management policies, records, and internal controls are maintained.
+ Supervise and direct the work of the MINNCOR finance services team, ensuring that financial transactions and reporting are correct and timely, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) reporting is accurate between MINNCOR ERP and State of MN ERP.
+ Assist CFO with the development of revenue budgets and spending plans for various MINNCOR industry programs and business units.
+ Direct and manage the development and maintenance of documentation for internal control standards related to fiscal management within MINNCOR.
This position is eligible to telework up to **two (2) days per week** following successful completion of the probationary period.
**Minimum Qualifications**
