**Job Title:** Coordinator, Business & Legal Affairs
**A little bit about our team:**
The Warner Records Business & Legal Affairs team is a dynamic, diverse, and dedicated group of professionals located across several global regions with a passion for music who provide general counseling to Warner Records across a wide range of business and legal issues. We value deep work, urgency, attention to detail, and a forward-thinking mindset. We work closely with every department at the label, and we focus on structuring the label's business and legal relationship with each of our artists.
**Your role:**
This role will provide comprehensive support to all members of the Business & Legal Affairs department, balancing administrative duties with essential paralegal responsibilities. You'll work closely with each member of the B&LA team, contributing to both the efficient flow of daily operations and the execution of critical legal tasks.
**Here you'll get to:**
+ Oversee general department functions, including assisting each department member with file management, ordering, and stocking office supplies, coordinating travel, handling expense reports in accordance with company policies, setting up/coordinating meetings and calls, and assisting with day-to-day facilities management. Work in the label's Los Angeles HQ to coordinate across department members and contributors in 4 locations
+ Update and distribute the roster monthly. Coordinate information flow with internal departments (e.g., A&R, Marketing, Finance, Licensing) and external parties (e.g., outside counsel, managers, etc.) regarding departmentmatters, under the guidance of B&LA attorneys
+ Organize and manage legal documents, adapting to new systems. Assist with and accountably track signatures of legal documents. Assist with the tracking and management of contract lifecycles. Assist with the organization of documents for corporate matters when needed. Maintain and update legal databases and tracking systems for department matters. Review and upload documents to systems, and coordinate with the rights management team. Handle and safeguard confidential and proprietary information with the utmost discretion. Execute and maintain proper confidentiality procedures
+ Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, and presentations. Assist in reviewing agreements for accuracy and completeness under attorney supervision
+ Clearance support for music, video, artwork, soundtracks, etc.
+ Assist with review of contests, LODs, VPP, visa applications, etc.
+ Conduct basic legal research using various resources to support the B&LA team on legal matters related to entertainment law generally
**About you:**
+ Possess Bachelors degree in a field that develops the skills required for the functions and responsibilities of the position, or equivalent work experience
+ Possess a strong work ethic, exceptional attention to detail, and a keen interest in legal processes.
+ Excel at organization, time management, and diverse workflows on short deadlines. You maintain regular awareness of priorities and communicate clearly about them. You're self-motivated and measurably take ownership of tasks

Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:
+ Manage heavy and complex schedules, coordinating calls and meetings with internal and external parties utilizing multiple calendars; keep attorneys on schedule; demonstrate flexibility, patience and persistence in routinely rescheduling calls and meetings
+ Arrange complex logistics for multiple-attendee and multiple-location meetings (including Telepresence and slide presentation set-ups); coordinate audio/visual needs for meetings; attend and take notes as requested by attorneys
+ Accurately process and track legal work, including uploading documents into various databases and management systems and updating status charts and tracking reports
+ Draft, type, edit and distribute simple legal documents, project reports, letters, memos, presentations, spreadsheets, emails and other documents
+ Assist attorneys with redlining of agreements as well as finalizing execution copies for signature and coordinating counter-signature(s)
+ Support matter intake, including opening and closing of legal matters/cycles in relevant database.
+ Conduct initial review of certain agreements or forms, and other template-based agreement, escalating issues as appropriate to attorneys.
+ Maintain and update attorney bar membership, CLE credits and other licensing requirements.
+ Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism along with a positive attitude
+ When in office, provide professional phone coverage at all times, take messages as required and deliver to attorneys in a timely manner
+ Coordinate team-wide meeting agendas and distribute meeting notes
+ Arrange travel and accommodations including comprehensive and detailed itineraries
+ Prepare and process expense reports, reimbursements and reconciliations in accordance with Company policy guidelines; process outside counsel and other legal-related invoices
+ Handle general office and administrative tasks, including the ordering of miscellaneous supplies
+ Manage administrative and coordination aspects of special projects as designated including planning and organizing internal events
+ Build and maintain internal tools and resources, including SharePoint pages, team trackers, and scheduling systems (e.g., Microsoft Bookings).
+ Provide backup for other assistants on the team
+ Coordinate with IT and legal operations to onboard attorneys and other legal staff and ensure system/tool access is granted or removed as needed.
+ Maintain and update distro lists and severs.
+ Help with new hire onboarding and train other admins as needed.

JOB DUTIES
- Ensure accuracy of data within the RLDatix event tracking system as it relates to Feedback Management.
- Process non-behavioral patient warnings and terminations from the medical practice in compliance with law and University policy; review with providers and staff the circumstances leading to non-behavioral terminations and recommend other measures when appropriate.
- Ensure the medical records accurately reflect the basis for non-behavioral warnings and terminations.
- Draft appropriate and accurate letters on behalf of providers to inform patients of actions needed to preserve the physician-patient relationship or to explain the reasons that relationship cannot continue.
- Competently spot risk issues and consult risk managers and attorneys as needed to complete assigned duties or special projects.

The role of Counsel, Business and Legal Affairs reports to the Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs, and is part of a team responsible for providing business and legal affairs services for scripted and unscripted programming, content acquisitions and live entertainment across Versant's portfolio of television entertainment networks, including USA Network, Oxygen, E! and SYFY.
Job Duties:
+ Provide business and legal affairs services during development, production and delivery of original productions, including negotiating and drafting business and legal terms for a wide variety of production-related agreements.
+ Draft and negotiate agreements for licensing of acquired television series, motion pictures and specials and serve as a business and legal affairs point of contact for content acquisition business partners.
+ Review, analyze and interpret a wide range of production and acquisition-related contracts and provide thoughtful and timely legal advice on potential risks and issues to internal business, production and creative partners.
+ Interface with production service companies during all phases of development and production and advise and collaborate with all key internal departments including creative, production, risk management, intellectual property, labor, and other groups to ensure all chain-of-title, guild, legal (e.g., engagement of minors) and insurance requirements, as well as clearance processes, production contracts and credits are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
+ Provide high-level, timely advice on advertising and marketing materials across Versant networks to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, company policies and key agreements.
Basic Qualifications:
+ 4+ years of entertainment legal experience at a network, studio, entertainment law firm or production company.
+ Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
+ Member of the California or New York State Bar.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook; experience with document management systems and protocols.

The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
The role of Counsel, Business and Legal Affairs reports to the Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs, and is part of a team responsible for providing business and legal affairs services for scripted and unscripted programming, content acquisitions and live entertainment across Versant's portfolio of television entertainment networks, including USA Network, Oxygen, E! and SYFY.
Job Duties:
+ Provide business and legal affairs services during development, production and delivery of original productions, including negotiating and drafting business and legal terms for a wide variety of production-related agreements.
+ Draft and negotiate agreements for licensing of acquired television series, motion pictures and specials and serve as a business and legal affairs point of contact for content acquisition business partners.
+ Review, analyze and interpret a wide range of production and acquisition-related contracts and provide thoughtful and timely legal advice on potential risks and issues to internal business, production and creative partners.
+ Interface with production service companies during all phases of development and production and advise and collaborate with all key internal departments including creative, production, risk management, intellectual property, labor, and other groups to ensure all chain-of-title, guild, legal (e.g., engagement of minors) and insurance requirements, as well as clearance processes, production contracts and credits are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
+ Provide high-level, timely advice on advertising and marketing materials across Versant networks to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, company policies and key agreements.
Basic Qualifications:
+ 4+ years of entertainment legal experience at a network, studio, entertainment law firm or production company.
+ Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
+ Member of the California or New York State Bar.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook; experience with document management systems and protocols.
