Position Title:      Environmental Health and Safety Technician (EHS Tech) 
Reports To:          Safety Superintendent

Position Summary: The EHS Technician ensures environmental, health, and safety compliance as outlined by federal, state, and local agencies and as contractually required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Reports to the EHS Safety Superintendent
• Monitors, evaluates, and enforces the PSI Environmental, Health and Safety programs
• Conducts routine safety inspections and surveillances; ensures discrepancies are corrected
• Performs Shipyard Competent Person duties
• Maintains administrative files as required by the EHS Manual, NPDES permit and other requirements
• Completes accident/incident/illness investigations and reports to Management and Corporate Insurance Department
• Provides training as necessary to meet the requirements of regulatory agencies, the EHS Manual and to ensure the ongoing education and safety of employees
• Maintains safety training records
• Conducts Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) to ensure employees take required precautionary measures
• Maintains HAZ/Non-HAZ waste site(s) and materials
• Assists in performance of tasks related to environmental compliance with NPDES per management, state, and/or federal laws, rules, and/or regulations
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Ability to effectively operate office equipment, to include desktop computers, calculators, printers, copy machines and telephones

Qualification/Requirement:

• Must show proof of your legal right to work in the United States
• This position requires US Citizenship due to security clearance required for base access
• Must be able to successfully obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
• Must be able to successfully obtain a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Credential to gain access to federally controlled work sites

**This position will be filled at either the Health and Safety Technician 3 or 4 level, depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level.**
**Health and Safety Tech 3 ($59,200-$1,600)**
The Health and Safety (HS) Technician provides support to line managers and facility personnel by assisting health and safety professionals with collection of personnel air samples, swipe and bulk sampling, area sampling, real-time sampling, and inspection of areas or review of operations to ensure compliance with Laboratory and regulatory requirements.
**Health and Safety Tech 4 ( 64,700- 101,400)**
In addition to what was outlined at the lower level, at this level the incumbent will be responsible for supporting a variety of programs as needed. The selected candidate will be assigned to one or more programs based on needs. Incumbent has demonstrated skills and knowledge beyond those expected to be found at level 3. Applies extensive knowledge and skills to complete specialized tasks and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. Comprehensive understanding of general and technical aspects of the job. Follow up on those corrective and preventative actions to drive on time closure of incident investigations, concerns, and findings.
· Monitor compliance and assist EHS Leader with Emergency Action Planning including evacuation, shelter, and active shooter drills.

**EHS Tech - Summary**

Position Summary
Under general direction of the HSE Manager and Manufacturing Director this position serves as coordinator for occupational safety programs within one or more divisions and/or departments. Plan, design, develop, implement, and evaluate departmental occupational safety programs.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist the HSE Manager / Supervisor with the implementation of environment, safety and health programs, as directed.
- Schedule and conduct weekly safety meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

- Experience with ISNetworld, Avetta, Veriforce and other 3rd party consortiums, including data input
- OSHA 511 & #501 Trainer (40 hour) courses
